Rogue Wave Hits Ship in Storm Force 12 ! Massive !

  • Ouessant, at the tip of Brittany. The Bee Flanders, one of the most powerful tugboats in the world, capable of towing a tanker of 550,000 tons in load. If it had been there, if it had been chartered as it is today for a public service mission, the Amoco would never have sullied 200 kilometers of coast.
    By force 10 to 12, and beyond, one discovers here the craft of these men who persist in repeating that they are not heroes. It is discovered that on 4 January 98 a crazy oil tanker nearly collapsed on the Ouessant rocks and then on those at Portsall. There is a trailer catch, amid the sailors, on the aft deck of the boat.
    And the sea really disassembled.

      Hey Thomes S,
      Whilst scientists finally admit that Rogue waves exist, it would be near impossible and most likely a fatal encounter to photograph one.
      The f a ct that they're Rogue means that they are unpredictable and rarely appear.
      I too want to see one.

      they are hard to catch because they are extremely rare, they have caught them on sensor data many times using special buoys they have set up in the open ocean, to catch one on camera could take years or decades or extreme luck

    It appears nobody knows what a true rogue wave is. A rogue wave can be any height. It's just a wave that is at least double the height of the average wave size in the area. Therefore it's possible to have a 10ft rogue wave.

    • @King_Flippy_Nips
      @King_Flippy_Nips 2 роки тому +1

      rogue waves are just the result of two waves of the same frequency(width, depth and height) meet and combine to create one wave of double the size of the two original, and in rare situations this can happen multiple times creating monster waves in a relatively calm ocean, they are waves after all and act just like any other wave be it sound or light.

      Rogue waves can reach heights of 60 ft, and more.
      What we're witnessing here are waves during a Beaufort 12. The highest rating on the Wave Scale. Essentially it's high winds and waves with large wakes. Several 12s have claimed a few ships.

    4th January 1998 I remember very well. I was at Portland Bill, England. The lighthouse was resonating with the wind, emitting a loud drone. The air was as if in mist, but this was wind driven seawater, diffusing the sunlight. The peak gust was 107mph at Portland that day, where it was a force 12 for an hour at least.

    To my knowing there is no live footege of rogue waves. Its been awaited for very long, so any real footege would be a sensation!
    These are big waves but the rogue wave at say 100 ft have not ben filmed.., yet.
