Just to add, I 've just treated myself to a second hand copy from ebay of the authors and the clothes they wore and why a painting is like e a pizza, thanks so much for the recommendations, cant wait to receive them. 🙌
oh, I really hope you enjoy. Please pop a comment here when you get them, to know if you like them. Authors and clothes was a book I spied out of the corner of my eye in a bookstore and HAD to have a look. Then, I had to buy because I figured it was so niche I wouldn't ever find it in a Library! "Why a painting is like a pizza" I wasn't sure about reading at first, in case it was textbooky and formal, but it was not, and more like listening to a wise clued in friend. So I hope they work for you.
What a lovely, diverse assortment of recommendations! I love how you came up with so many different categories. Asking about oversize shelving at your local library is a useful tip, as is the reminder that art books can be heavy to transport home. Thanks for sacrificing the tidiness of your living space in order to make this video. 🤗
hmmm... tidiness... nope, never been accused of that before!-) Glad you thought it had some range. I loved your recommendations in your launching announcement. Looks like we'll have to get more shelves.....
Glad you liked! Looking forward to hearing the recommendations and books brought to me through this readathon. Although I don't know if my TBR will ever recover.... maybe just in time to do it all over again next year!
This is a tremendous selection. The library is a good recommendation for art books. I am always tempted by the gorgeous books in the shop at art galleries I visit but they are fierce expensive as a rule. Art the Whole Story would be good for my Christmas list.
I know what you mean, I try to not look too long at bookshops in galleries, because they are gorgeous and expensive - although I'm learning that it's worth investing if they have a catalogue for an exhibition they have shown (these are small print runs and are difficult and prohibitively expensive to buy later.) My copy of Whole Story of art was just a few quid and in immaculate condition - so do check art book shelves in charity shops.
What a lot of great possibilities. I’m really looking forward to this event 😊
Great selection. Looking forward to Framed!
the more the merrier! good that you're going to be involved too

Artists and the clothes they wore sounds a good one!
Great choice of books! I have Art The Whole Story too, but in French. I go to it often.
