The TV viewership for the first match was higher for tennis than soccer because Jannik Sinner's match was broadcast on free national TV, while the soccer match was on pay TV. The final attracted around 4 million viewers for Sinner, which is impressive for Italy. However, later in the evening, the national soccer team’s match drew about 8 million viewers (both free). Thanks to Sinner, tennis is gaining significant popularity in Italy, and the recent results are extraordinary. Nevertheless, soccer’s supremacy in the country will likely never be surpassed. Btw he's the greatest italian sport personality since Valentino Rossi maybe, outside soccer, or including soccer perhaps.
To be fair, most of the Italian tennis players are exciting to watch right now so it makes sense why it's gaining in popularity as a sport in your country. My favorite sport is hockey and it's probably the fifth most popular team sport in the US, but it's in the perfect spot imho. You don't want your favorite sport to be the most popular, because then that usually means they water it down and milk it dry like they have done to the NFL in the US.
Damn, thats great news! Italy has the best tennis players right now (in my opinion) of any country in the world. And having a number one player helps a great deal in having tennis be more popular - I have seen the same thing happen in Serbia when Novak became a top 3 player more than 15 years ago. So I predict that Italy will have a great tennis future in next 10 years, cheers to that!

In other words, to receive a tennis racquet, we had to buy a racquet and so on. The other requirement was that he only wears Wilson clothing at every single tournament. We understand this except for this fact: we are required to buy a set in order to receive one set of clothing. If we buy more sets, we don't get more sets though. It's still just one set. The problem is that he sometimes plays three tournaments in a row extending to 14 days. Given the price of Wilson clothing, we would have to buy many sets of clothing racking up even more thousands in expenses. The terms were clear, if we do not use Wilson clothing we will receive one warning, and on the second time we forfeit the contract and have to return everything. I've tried to speak to people at Wilson but can't get in touch with anyone. Hi Andy and team, I saw that you posted JW's apology on Instagram. I think it should be posted here on youtube as well, especially if you're to bring him back.
I think with these big Tournaments The final should be best of 3 out of 5..., and Carlos get healthy and focused cause You are the only one that could challenge Sinner.., My opinion , don't come for Me..., Congratulations Sinner...
Why is 4 and 4 a drubbing--it's the loss of 1 serve. Granted that's all Sinner would need. He was going to win the tournament there wasn't any doubt. The drubbing given and taken was to Ruud, 1 & 2 . And I didn't think Ruud played badly. Sinner was is God-mode during this tournament. Played like prime Djokovic and won. Alcaraz wasn't going to beat him either. First of all he was sick and secondly he had Malaga on the brain (the glory of playing for Spain in the Davis Cup and Nadal's retirement) and The ATP finals are played on an indoor hard-court which he doesn't like. And credit to Fritz who is good but will never be at the Sinner level.
Next year is really shaping up into something special. Sinner is top dog right now, Zverev career high no.2, Fritz into the top 5, Carlitos chalking up 2 more GS's (and Olympic final). Nole's search for no. 25. Follow that with Draper making a run just outside the top 10, Tommy Paul coming great in '24, GMP storming into the top 30, plus Med, plus Demon, plus Rublev. There is still a lot of undecided tennis left before well call anyone 'dominant' imho. It's starting to feel like the WTA: anyone on form can have a decent run. Can't wait for AO...
At the moment Sinner is unbeatable, if anything it must be said that he will not be able to last much longer with this pace, he reminds me a lot of Courier who retired quite early. I would have been curious to see Sinner against Zverev in the ATP finals because they have a fairly similar style and also because it has been a long time since they played against each other. Among those you mentioned, I really like Draper but I don't think he will be able to get into the Top 5, because he doesn't have a tough enough character.
sinner rephrased the "idc about money" statement in italian by something along the lines as "you get to the point where couple millions more or less do not impact your lifestyle as much"

This ban is a massive overreaction. The guy's apologized. It's time to move on. Very disappointed with the hypocritical Tennis Channel - if an ex-pro (male) had said the same mean words, there's no way he would have been thrown under the bus.
6 kings slam was not just about money. It was the last time the two greatest players of all time were in the same tourney you have Medvedev who was the of greatest hard court player in the last 4-5 years. And Alcarez his biggest rival the only person who should not have been there was Holgar Rune it should have been Zverv but he said no I don’t say it was a about even if your defending at the same time says I don’t think sinner knows how much he gets at the slams
To Kaub1313: Alcarez is still here!!! he is just currently burnt out now, playing very below average, since Cincinnati This year. (Beijing was an exception) His game becomes very inconsistent when he is having an off day. No one is going to disagree with you, when you say Sinners is more reliable to get wins. His numbers in the last year and a half are insane. But as of right now comparing him to prime fed 04-08 is even more insane and dumb. Federer was winning everything except and the French, , Montecarlo, and Barcelona until Summer 08. Even if Sinner always wins 90-93% of matches until the end of his prime he still is not currently not favored against Alcarez on clay or on Grass. You know, the other 2 Slams??? When alcarez plays at his baseline level or better he can win! And he has, been victorious in all 3 matches that counted in the ATP tour this year against Sinner. Alcarez this year split the slams with sinner 2-2 I could give 100 reasons this is not in anyway near the same kinda domination that we saw in Young Prime Feds year. This is not a weak ERA that’s actually dumbest thing I have ever heard in the chat. Competitive is one thing but the weak ERA?????? Right now the level displayed in todays game is higher than it has ever been. And the level that Alcarez and Sinner get to when playing at their highest level is in my and most other tennis players, fans, and commentator’s, opinion it is the highest level we have seen
I still can’t believe Andy is taking money from big pickleball, but I guess that’s what happens at a certain point. Get big, lose track of what’s affecting the lowly rec tennis players, and chase the money.
Hey guys, do that same event in February with all the same people but tennis. You’re all athletes so you might as well play a sport instead of whatever that other thing is.
Not ridiculous. Zverev had more wins and won 2 Masters Events Rome and Paris. He beat Alcaraz in the Australian Open and at ATP Finals. Grand Slams are not the only tournaments in the sport.
It was one test and a confirmation followup 8 days later, not career spanning. No failed tests before or since, so quit exaggerating. And the reason he wasn't suspended was because he was found innocent of doping. Being doped without your knowledge isn't the same thing. Why do you kiddies come on here after listening to other kiddies instead of getting actual facts from the grownups? You all say the same thing and you all look foolish. 🤡
Sinner is great but such lack of competition is due to a weak era. We're going back in time before Nadal and Djokovic appeared, where Federer dominated in a weak era against lacklustre guys like Hewitt, Safin, and Ljubicic and just about squeezed between prime Sampras and Agassi and before Nadal and Nole.
Two of your examples were able to win a couple slams each though at least. Also, in their day, they could at least compete against federer. Hes wasn't beating them at this age.

Meddy is going to play at the World Tennis League in December! 😆 I don't know whether that helps with his fatigue...
Sinner banned would mean that the US could win a few majors.
Among those you mentioned, I really like Draper but I don't think he will be able to get into the Top 5, because he doesn't have a tough enough character.
sinner rephrased the "idc about money" statement in italian by something along the lines as "you get to the point where couple millions more or less do not impact your lifestyle as much"
Even the first time he spoke about it, he said it was a motivation, just not the only one. The media likes to edit to get people arguing or insulting each other, if possible.
Because doping is not the issue. Not for ITIA, nor for WADA.
I just want to know about the groovy table lamp over Andy's right shoulder. It's next to what might be a trophy. Are you sick of that lamp, Andy? Should I take it off your hands? I could do that.
Thanks for the laughs. (My favourite show remains the one with Eric Butorac.)
Anyone can come on? Im manifesting right now for Nadal to come on and talk about the 2004 Davis Cup match!
Andy, please don't join the crowd and cancel Jon. He said something thoughtless but hasn't done anything to deserve destroying his career.
Hey! Thanks for the comment and your love for Served. JW was never “canceled” by Served-blame Hollywood Andy and Jon’s schedules aligning (or not) more than anything else. We have a feeling the gang will be back together this coming week for a Davis Cup and BJK Cup recap!
Thank you. You've done a great job with Served. Entertaining.
1:36 Agassi's your idol, Andy? Not too late to get a backhand. 2 hours of specialized instruction on the court from the Armenian Assassin should do it. Just kidding man. Great stuff from the Andy Roddick Foundation!
100% true
The sinner bots in Action here again.
So annoying
Here is a mean tweet: "my huge forehead looks like Barbara's"
Is he going to read that one?
I know he’s still got hair but Roddick is one of those people who would still look handsome bald
Super Sajannick is here.
Big fan of Served but this is the first episode I've had to use the ff button. 20 minutes on Pickleball - what a sell-out. Why are they giving publicity to a so-called sport that is an absolute joke to watch? Yeah, I know, money. So depressing.
Also, and more importantly, when is the excellent Jon W going to return? This ban is a massive overreaction. The guy's apologized. It's time to move on. Very disappointed with the hypocritical Tennis Channel - if an ex-pro (male) had said the same mean words, there's no way he would have been thrown under the bus.
6 kings slam was not just about money. It was the last time the two greatest players of all time were in the same tourney you have Medvedev who was the of greatest hard court player in the last 4-5 years. And Alcarez his biggest rival the only person who should not have been there was Holgar Rune it should have been Zverv but he said no I don’t say it was a about even if your defending at the same time says I don’t think sinner knows how much he gets at the slams
no Jon Wertheim??? lol
Yall can leave that Mean Tweets segment right where you found it... 🥴
Atp handsome men
To Kaub1313: Alcarez is still here!!! he is just currently burnt out now, playing very below average, since Cincinnati This year.
Let's be real - John Isner you are cute AF. As are Mardy and Andy. Had a huge crush on Izzy for ages
The mean tweets was a nice segment but they are were not mean & funny enough. Kimmel's segment works because it’s savage.
Rest assure that the '' lady '' tweet about André being hot is a bot, no offense Mister Agassi.
Pickleball…. Speaking about money
Since Alberto Tomba. Sheesh.
I don't know how Sasha is number two in the world when Carlos won two Grand slams and two other tournaments it's kind of stupid.
Not ridiculous. Zverev had more wins and won 2 Masters Events Rome and Paris. He beat Alcaraz in the Australian Open and at ATP Finals. Grand Slams are not the only tournaments in the sport.
its all about the points , but sure its odd that a guy who won 2 slams and got an Olympic silver is #3 year ending
Olipop back? But not back?
Sinner doesn't need a year band but he certainly needs to be suspended he didn't test positive once he tested positive twice.
Medvedev, who experienced both eras, apparently begs to differ.
Safin was very good , Hewitt was good
David Beckham is NOT popular in Britain, a lot of us dont like him, howver Sinner is generally very popular in Italy
Meddy is a pain in the ass--it's gamesmanship +++++. He's not the top dog anymore and he's acting like a spoiled brat. Guys find this funny, women do not.
I hope Dasha can take it
he is entertaining though , i think both men and women will have different opinions on issues , i am male but i often disagree with other males, i also dont think females agree on everything
@@hoaxashian-f8v of course they don't but my point, if I have one, is that there is a difference in viewpoint in terms of behavior. I don't find poor behavior amusing.
@@mariepelletier3020 almost all players have engaged in poor behaviour from time to time , as a spectator it can be entertaining to watch., not condoning it but its part of the spectatcle and in the heat of the moment , probably 70% of tope ten players have smashed rackets for example
@@hoaxashian-f8v yeah smashing racquets is one thing. It's an immediate and frustrated response. I don't mind that I would do the same. I don't like the gamesmanship involved with the jawboning. It's pointless and does it really help?
Where is J wertheirm?
I'm surprised how little air time you gave Carlos Alcaraz who won two Grand slams and one Wimbledon and the French Open back to back which is a feet very few tennis players have ever accomplished?
I think it's interesting how he starts the beginning of the year so hot and he ends cold just like Nadal used to do.
I don't think Novak is an issue I think his days of winning Grand slams are over as long as Carlos and Sinner are playing.
nope he is one of the only people who can take sets off Sinner , i mean he won a tie break against Sinner 7-0
Zverev is also deeply afraid of Fritz's girlfriend.
she is always nagging him , having said that she has toned it down , she is less annoying these days
haven't seen the finals yet... was it as totally Boring as NYC - a dozen backhand crosscourt to backhand, then switch, hey let's do forehands... just like practice. Neither player wants to come within 100 meters of the net.
American men tennis players please. You were lazy and only played for money. The guys from other countries are not that privileged. Stop throwing stones
Truly a dope performance by the world #1, not even one set doped all tournament!
Hey! Even dopes like you agree he’s the best 👍😁Good to see 😉
@@Aliceteacup And he goes around from Sinner video to Sinner video to spread the idiocy because Sinner has burrowed under his skin. Talk about triggered! 😂
Are you guys really not going to address woke John wortheim getting a taste of his medicine and getting cancelled?
Sinner mowing over everyone but Alcaraz is not exciting for tennis.
It's not exciting for you. Happens in sports, or are you not familiar?
I liked that one part of the season when he was caught with dope in his piss. But we don't talk about that anymore.
Because doping Is not the issue. Not for ITIA, nor for WADA.
@@Bregman-x6u I guess.
@@KubwawGuess what?
@@Bregman-x6u I guess you're right.
maybe because they all know that the whole story is bs?
17:05 “He (Sinner) is the biggest star they ever had”.
18:00 “Famous Italian athletes are either olympians or soccer players”.
Dude, the world outside the US isn’t just about American football, baseball or car racing into an oval shaped track.
Google the names of Fausto Coppi, Gino Bartali, Alberto Ascari, Giacomo Agostini, Alberto Tomba, Lorenzo Bernardi, Valentino Rossi and get a bit informed.
