Thank you for the video and giving us in UA-cam land ideas. I just purchased a 16 foot Kaboat and waiting for delivery. I really like the idea of creating a frame using the fencing.
Great info Scott. I’ve been wading fishing out of pennyfield for 30+ years. I recently got a Jon boat with a mud motor. Works great except in summer when water is too low at pennyfield ramp to launch. I’m interested in putting in at Riley’s lock and coming down river. My question to you is do you think it’s better to come dawn/up main channel or GW sleuceway by VA shore? I’m looking for the least amount of rapids/rocks. I will only do it when river is reading below 3.4ish at little falls marker. Thanks for your help
Nice inflatable I’m interested in this model. Is it heavy to move around without a trailer and do you think this would be great stable for fishing ocean jetty here in Southern California?
It’s about 100 lbs I would guess- naked. I fit in a 6.5 ft pickup bed but stuck Waaaaaay out. It was ridiculous actually. I went with a light trailer. Saved lots of inflation and set up time. As for the ocean, I would be comfortable on a day with NO weather or wave challenges- which is limiting. It is stable to stand in, in my opinion. It is NOT self bailing, so attempting to land in surf risks getting swamped, turned sideways and rolled. Tubes are not as fat as a zodiac, for instance. So your freeboard is about 12 inches. If you are thinking the rig with the longtail mud motor for salt, forget it. The engine will not tolerate salt of any kind. Would need a marine outboard for such. Rowing/paddling off a jetty not recommended either as wind will play hell with any inflatable. Would need 5hp power min in my opinion, for putting around.
@@ScottBroomVideos thank you for the support. Ya I have an 6hp outboard I was using kaboat 14ft scout 430 inflatable but only owned it 4months and leak at the seams. They gave me another one but planning on selling and getting a Saturn inflatable just don’t know which one I want to put put around the jetties and inshore fishing. Any recommendations as I am new angler. 6hp tohatsu
It slowed me way down and levered the prop out of the water at high throttle. Its protective for sure, but I found it clunky and not practical to drive around basically at idle+
Galvanized Conduit clamps to match the EMT tubing. (Double ended, not singles) Stainless bolts/hardware countersunk in wood. Cheap, simple. OK for this. Wouldn’t do it if your thinking frame for whitewater raft. Theres a reason they use welded aluminum.
Up graded to a Towee skiff with 22 hp surface drive. Hard shell. More capable for bigger loads. But does not beat the inflatable for super skinny and bony conditions.
Awesome I just bought that boat in red and ordered my mud kit. 7 HP predator.

Great set up thank you for sharing , but maybe you could please explain what the front electric motor is needed for, for us novice boaters?
Great set up man. 👍👏

Hi, do you use spinning rods in this position for transportation or trolling, if for trolling, then the fishing line is not wound on the screw ???
What do you think of those circular guards that go all the way around the prop?

You went full pimp on this ride! Are you using U bolts to attach the wood planks to the frame?

What length shaft are you running 85" or 100"?
Why did you sell your boat? Did you replace it with something else?
