I am back with another CWRU vlog with freshmen housing room tour!
During my freshmen year, I stayed at Taplin House, which is part of the Juniper residential community. Juniper is the only community that has new furniture (as of now) and a full kitchen. You can see the floor plans and more pictures of Taplin House here: case.edu/housing/facilities/f...
Tips: choosing rooms
- Choose the corner rooms, they are a bit bigger than other rooms on the same floor.
- Try to avoid the rooms in front of the common area, bathroom or the staircase if you don't want all of the noise.
(Luckily, my room was at the corner and away from everything, so it was very peaceful)
- Elevators are VERY slow and tiny, so I recommend staying on 2nd or 3rd floor. You are gonna get a good cardio if you stay on 4th floor. *For my year, Taplin's 1st and 4th floors were for males and 2nd and 3rd were for females.
Tips: what to bring/not to bring
- Unless you want to vacuum, don't bring a rug. It's a big hassle to clean it and pack it at the end of the school year. Wear a warm slipper instead and use a sweeper (wet).
- Bring a shower basket and a separate pair of shower slippers/flip-flops. You'll see why.
- You don't need to buy a microwave, b/c each floor has one in the common area. But buy a mini fridge!
How to be a good housemate
- PLEASE clean after yourselves, I have seen many ~things~ b/c people didn't clean after themselves haha.
- Try not to talk loudly/scream in the staircases, because it echoes like you are standing on top of a mountain.
- Set a timer when you are using the laundry machines. If you forget about it, people will take out your clothing and put it into a commons laundry basket. If you don't want others touching your things, be there a minute earlier before your laundry finishes.

Hi! Mine was a double but there are some singles in Clarke Tower that's an 8 ppl suite (2 singles, 3 doubles)

안녕하세요, 일단 합격 축하드려요!! 케이스웨스턴에선 stem쪽 공부하는 학생들이 가장 많다고 볼수있을것같네요. 과제량과 시험같은 경우는 얼마나 공부하냐에 따라서 다른거같구요.. ㅎㅎ 하지만 할수없을 정도는 아니에요 다만 stem 쪽 하면 어려운 과목은 많아용 ㅠ 그래도 서로 으쌰으쌰 하는 분위기라서 힘들어도 수업 같이 듣는 친구 한명이라도 있으면 훨씬 괜찮을꺼에요! 여기서 너무 좋은 친구들을 많이 만나서 그런진 몰라도 학교 분위기가 막 아주 치열하다고는 못느꼈어요. 선생님들도 전반적으로 친절하시고 수업외에 만나서 어려운부분 가르쳐주시고 도와주세요 :) Minji님의 major 를 몰라서 자세한 답은 못드리지만, 더 궁금한거 있으면 인스타 디엠 주세용! @clare.shin

They are just like how public bathrooms look like except for half of the stalls are shower stalls and the other half is for bathroom

Do the dorms have ethernet ports?
Hi, I don't know much about it but according to the CWRU Residential Network website, all residential rooms have Ethernet connections and you can just plug in the network cable.
