    Stunningly beautiful car. Whoever painted it did a superb job

    Power windows, power seats and factory a/c was the trifecta of options for the 50s and very few cars had them...years later they would become very common place even on average autos....

    I am amazed that so many 59's have survived. i know of 3 , within 10 miles of where I live here in Manchester England. (We did have a Main Cadillac Dealer, Bauer and Millet , until 5 years ago, ).. Now it seems that GM has pulled out of Europe.

    Why not hit the brakes when you gun the engine. For safety and we can see the brake lights.

    Decent resto, the interior is gorgeous. Why in the hell would you add 'box air' to a car that already has factory air?

    • @ronaldrime5286
      @ronaldrime5286 6 років тому +1

      Joe Hammond I know what you mean. I prefer keeping these classics as close to original as possible. This reminds me of the '59 Fleetwood country singer Johnny Horton was driving back in 1960 when he was killed in that wreck near Milano, Texas.

      If they would do the add on air, I would not believe anything else about the car. All lies, I am sure.

      AIR PROB DOS'NT WORK, AND TOO EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR SO THEY TOOK THE CHEAP WAY OUT. WOULD'NT TRUST , OR BELIEVE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS CAD

    Who the hell tore out the factory air conditioning system and replaced it with a cheap aftermarket system? Even if the original compressor was seized you REBUILD it!!!!!!!

    • @rmx77
      @rmx77 3 роки тому

      its hard to rebuild and parts for something like this are harder to find now. but i like that this one still has the factory cruse control which not many had and was an extra you had to pay for. i do love it but to bad its not the pimento red interior. also i would love if it had the 4 speaker am radio as well and the original factory air ride suspension

    • @joe6096
      @joe6096 3 роки тому +2

      @@rmx77 There are specialty shops that rebuild vintage A/C compressors, alternators/generators, and everything else. Brake master cylinders, pumps, everything that you would have a hard time finding parts for, they either have the parts or know how to make them. Giving up and installing an aftermarket system is like quitting, cheapening out on the job, and starts to affect the value of the car in an otherwise excellent restoration.

    • @rmx77
      @rmx77 3 роки тому +1

      @@joe6096 yea cause when you add stuff or change things the value of the car becomes only what someone is willing to pay for it. you see i would want one with the pimento red interior where its all red not this half red stuff that they do and leave the dash and steering wheel be a different color but still call it a pimento red interior. also i would like it to have all the extras u had to pay for, cruse control, ac, 4 speaker am radio, power windows, power locks, power bench, power antenna etc... also i wouldnt want anything less then a bubble top sedan i cant stand 2 door cars 4 doors only

      @@rmx77 Right I get what you’re saying but my point is originality is the key. Colors are one thing, but aftermarket and modern parts are another. The value of one of these cars that was originally built without air conditioning is going to be more than one that had factory air but was removed and replaced with aftermarket air. That factory Fridgidaire compressor alone is probably worth a thousand dollars even if it’s seized up. But the value of the car went down with an aftermarket system. Whereas one that never had A/C in the first place and still doesn’t is original. That can never be duplicated.

    • @rickhartman8679
      @rickhartman8679 2 роки тому

      I have one of these I'm restoring now..the original Frigidaire a-5 compressor lasted a long time but really isn't serviceable...this aftermarket unit was just the cheapest fix..has the incorrect hubcaps too..still an excellent example..but not perfect

    I am VERY reluctant to beleive this car has only 34,000 actual miles ... maybe after an engine rebuild and restoration a few years ago but not an all original car unless there is loads of documentation.

    It's beautiful but its way too overpriced. Nada and Hagerty value the 1959 Fleetwood 60 Special at $20-$25,000. 25K is with the HP motor.
