Love a hate video from someone like you because of your genuine love for fragrance. You never really have anything negative to say lol. The way you casually delivered urinal cakes and apple juice is hilarious 😂😂😂
Bro this is a great video its not about people wanting to hate on things it's more people like to hear your opinions on frags and we definitely can use a video like this here and there. I definitely enjoy your positive videos as well and I've bought SEVERAL frags because of your video on it! Most wanted intense and Invictus parfum is 2 of the latest I trusted your nose so purchased and sure enough exactly as you described and they are great! Thanks for the video buddy I been binge watching alot of your vids love your content bro!
I laughed out loud when you took out the grey flannel. It was one of my first blind buys from Ross when I was getting into fragrances. Immediately knew I’d never wear it
It’s so great seeing you out of your “comfort zone” , thanks for giving the “people” what they wanted , maybe if it does well you could do a yearly top 5 ?! , great stuff 👍🏻
I wore Argos triumph of Bacchus tonight for church and sprayed my neck and it definitely stained my shirt. But it smells amazing. Bottle worthy for sure. I sprayed Adonis now. Love that one too
10:23 Dude, how did I know you were going to mention Grey Flannel 🤣🤣? I have a sample size I got with a Macy's purchase back in 07 that I only wore once, maybe twice. I can totally understand why people wouldn't like it. Wouldn't say I hate it but not a huge fan either and can't picture a scenario where I'd want to wear it.
I’m getting an outdoor life alert ad type vibe where an elderly gentleman is on the lawn with a sprinkler spraying him from your description of that grey flannel. Paints quite the picture.
I purchased Grey Flannel on a blind buy. It has been the absolute worst fragrance purchase of my life. I agree with you 1000%. It was sprayed once and hasn’t been touched since, and never will be.
@@TheChipster61matter fact I'm going to do the same when I get home idk why it's still in my home not even worth putting in the bathroom for sh#t spray
Thanks for this. It was fun! I agree fully on grey flannel. Have it also a point of reference maybe wore it 2-3 times MAYBE. I used to wear Joop when it first came out. I can’t remember what it smells like. I gotta get a small decant to remember. I still wear from that time period Curve for men and I still absolutely love Hugo by Hugo Boss.
I had to think Urinal Cakes? 🤔 ahh blue pi55 blocks 😂 for me, I took a bottle of CK Be into work & the staff thought I had swapped it with window cleaner haha, unsure if the bottle went off, but I always got that cleaner smell from that 😖🤙🏻
Great vid!! It'd be cool to see a list of those frags that you really like that perhaps the Wife doesn't. I think we all have those; where WE absolutely love them, but our significant other can't stand it. Definitely have those with my Wife.
this video was funny af. im down for a part 2! just realized its super rare to see you dislike a fragrance, almost didn't recognize you with these facial expressions 🤣
Great video, Ross ! I respect your opinions, and you keep it real! You aren't disrespectful at all, and if we all can't have different opinions, the world would be boring. If people would just agree to disagree and be respectful, this world would be in such better shape! I personally don't like Joop Homme it's just not for me. And I have grey flannel in my collection. I just haven't had the chance to wear it yet. I got it at a rack store. We shall see. Have a great day. God bless 😊
This video is exactly why I say fragrance content is subjective. Of the 300 bottles in my collection Joop Homme is one of my most complimented ones. I’ve been wearing it for about 30 years now and I still love it. It has been reformulated so it’s not nearly as obnoxiously loud as it use to be but it’s still a breast and women still love it. It’s not to many times when I wear and I don’t get a compliment and or positive attention. Another excellent video and keep the content coming.
At least we have one thing in common...the despisal of Grey Flannel. Not only is it metallic and moldy, but its an instant headache inducer. Like literally. My dad used to wear it and it was the one I avoided it like the plague. Another scent that shares the profile and the headache inducing vibe, is the Tom Ford Noir Anthracite.
I'm approaching 70 in a few months and couldn't agree more with Joop and Grey Flannel. I haven't had the displeasure yet and now probably never will put my nose on the other 4 mentioned. I'd also include Versace The Dreamer with the first two, though Geoffrey Beene's Bowling Green and Aramis's New West are ones I've stockpiled and still rock to this day as two of my old school all time favorites but haven't smelled the blue GB one you mentioned. Being born and raised in NOLA, I appreciate the love of the Saints gear you exhibit. You couldn't pay me to watch basketball though, no Pelicans or NBA for me. Geaux Tigers! SOTD: Versace Green Jeans a discontinued hard to find banger while they continue to produce Blue Jeans amazes me. Have you ever smelled any of the 3 old school frags I've mentioned here (Bowling Green, new West or Green Jeans) any your thoughts if so? Enjoy your channel.
LOL, listening to you do a note breakdown and drawing the visuals of what you are saying... best laugh i had today! thanks!! i have CW oceanic and yeah not great, dont wear it! one of the worst i remember my dad wore (sad to say!) and is still around... Brut! man that smelled like a park outhouse to me!
i love all the cool water but the oceanic edition haven´t tested that much, i just got the gray flannel i like it not the greatest but okay...i have no idea what the rest you mention smells like cant get them here where i live
Not sure if I told this story on another one of your videos or not (pardon me if I'm repeating) but I bought Joop Homme back in the late 90s only because a girl I dated at the time knew I liked fragrances (I was super early in my journey) and mentioned it was her favorite. I still have a bottle now but never wear it. Not because of any past memories, but it just doesn't hit for me anymore. I hear people make the Individuel and Original Santal comparisons also, but neither are anywhere near as obnoxiously sweet or cloying like Joop.
My wife's father uses Joop! Homme as his signature scent. I can't be anywhere near him without being reminded of a locker room full of 14 year old boys, cos I wore the fuck out of it when I was at school - we all did.
100% Joop & Grey Nasty Flannel I feel like yacking every time my nose comes across them! The rest I dunno and don't want to. Thanks Ross for the heads up.
I hated joop homme when I first got it, but it grew on me. My bottle has changed smell though. Moschino toy boy smells like dill pickles and salty pine sol... I hate oceanic edition too... ive realized I really don't like anything with a driftwood note.
Ouch! Right out the gate you hate one of my faves of all time - Joop! Nostalgia. Albeit I’ve never smelled the edp, the OG just brings me back to the good ole days. lol.
Man, wore Joop Homme and Grey Flannel many, many, many years ago. Not 75, but 63. Bought a bottle of Joop a couple years ago for old times sake. One spray is enough for me. Thought about the Grey Flannel too. Never tried the Eau or Bowling Green from Beene. Side note, love that Tommy Vibrant Summer.
I worked at Best Buy a long time ago. One of the managers’ signature scent was JOOP! Homme. I have PTSD from it lol. Sickeningly sweet. Smells horrible.
I have a love-hate relationship with Joop. There are days when I love the scent and can't get enough of it. And then there are days when I can't stand it. I love cinnamon. Every year at Christmas, I need cinnamon-scented candles and cinnamon star cookies. That's probably why I like the scent during the cold season until today
Hey Ross, always look forward to your take on things. Just wondering if tou could possibly do a video on scents you didnt like at first, bit changed your mind after maceration. Excuse me for asking if you did already, and if so could you leave a link? B5r safe all
The original Joop back in the early 90s smelled different, now it sucks its not the same or maybe it is me, or maybe they reformulated it but i am not sure.
Joop was good up till about 96 or 97 but it was never something I wore very much.Back in the mid-late 90's Calvin Klein was the big thing for about 2 years all I wore was Escape, Eternity and CK one.
I'm not sure why anyone would be "mad" or "upset" at a reviewers (or anyone's) dislike of a fragrances. It's all just preferences based on a person's personal pallet. There are certain scent profiles I can't stand, but would never criticize someone who loves them.

Before watching the whole video, I thought, I don’t have a single one I hate, until I saw Cuba Black: the only fragrance I have ever smelled that has something that wakes up my puking reflex. Otherwise I agree that some Cuba fragrances are great, Royal Fortune being my favorite. For me, a fragrance that is guite unpleasant, is Santal 33.
I recently bought Ajman Verde and I absolutely hate it. I love me some greenies, but shoooooot that drydown on Verde literally makes me sick to my stomach for some reason!
Phew, I was afraid you're gonna include Versace The Dreamer here (I think I've heard you mentioning it's not your thing)😅 That Prestige Black is a famous player in your rack store hunt videos for quite some time now😁 I have not tried the original Joop Homme, but I have the same reaction with the EDP. It just sickens me.
I have gray flannel, and I like this one. It is stinky but for some reason I love it. My daughter absolutely hates it and thinks it smells like a wet dog blanket LOL but I do enjoy this one maybe I am like a dog that rolls in stinky stuff LOL
Lalique’s Encre Noire was my 3rd fragrance in my journey and good lord was it terrible the first time I smelled it. Grew on me since then. Still got rid of it though 😂 No reason to smell like some wet moss next to a tree for me.
i know a lot that hates grey flannel, but i love that one, it smells good on me, i get compliments even from those who hates it when i tell them im wearing grey flannel they just couldnt believe it hahaha 🤣
I don’t think the point is that haters want hate videos, moreso I think, people are weary of fragrance promoters, and when you have a reviewer always like or better put never really dislike any of the fragrances he/she reviews, you start to wonder. I’m speaking in general here. So videos like this are welcomed once in a while. Smelled Joop! Homme recently at tj maxx... it was horrible. And I accidentally sprayed it on my fingers and could smell it for like the next 3 hours. Almost died.
The Joop is a compliment monster and unique. Women love that shit. For myself a nogo is Nishane Fan your Flames or TF Oud Wood and Encre Noir by Lalique.
Totally agree with Joop and grey flannel! One that I hate that everyone loves is Kajal Lamar That one smelled like a chemical mess to me. I also don’t like original cool water not because it’s bad, but because it reminds me of high school in the 90s smoking weed, listening to snoop dog, and spraying a shit ton of cool water to try and cover up the smell lol!!
Walked past a lady who was wearing a fragrance I’d smelled times before and really dislike. Asked the lady what she was wearing and it Cashmere and woods I think she said. Good gosh it’s so strong and “grandma” ish. She asked why I asked and I told her I liked it because I didn’t have the heart to make her self conscious about something she likes. Anyway, terrible to me.
Fun Video Ross. I don’t understand why people get so offended if you cant stand something they like. That’s not just fragrances. I can’t stand country music I think it sucks but I don’t mind if someone likes it. I don’t expect everyone to like what I like. It’s so weird to me.
DUDE, I DON'T LIKE GREY FLANNEL EITHER!!!! I grew up as a kid and it was in the little fragrance gift boxes that I would sometimes get for Christmas and I NEVER wore it (along with some others). I couldn't understand the appeal at all. But the thing that a lot of people don't understand is that when you have had your nose on higher quality scents that have a lot more depth and passion, the basic stuff becomes...boring. And when you go back to some things, they just smell so generic that you don't want to really indulge in them. So yes, GF may be awesome to some people...but have they tried a Gravitas Pour Homme or maybe an Original Santal as alternatives to classic scents? If they tried more, they'd probably go back and say, "Hell no."
Am i weird for saying out of all your videos i probably enjoyed this one the most 😂. As Darth Vader said, embrace the hate. But honestly, i know Joop Homme gets hated on now, but trust me in the late 90s early 2000s it was 🔥🔥. And the women absolutely loved it. It was the first fragrance along with Eternity for men i smelled on someone else and said i have to have that. But now its the laughing stock of the fragrance community. But i get it, everybody's taste is different, and this is a subjective hobby, and the new ones may smell like s@#$. But man, was that thing like a magnet for women back in the day.
I bought Joop because of the hype everyone said it was excellent. It is too strong for me. Very overpowering, and I like the spray so it's not a good fit. Although I do have it in my collection.
Love a hate video from someone like you because of your genuine love for fragrance. You never really have anything negative to say lol. The way you casually delivered urinal cakes and apple juice is hilarious 😂😂😂

Joop was something i wore in HS in the 90s. I remember it being way too sweet. Way too juvenile for a 40 something year old man

Happy Memorial Day Ross and Chat. 🇱🇷 SOTD Prada ocean le parfum
Do you like Cool Water Reborn?
Good morning! 👊🏻
Bro the only reason I have grey flannel is cause my wife loves it. Ugh
Started with Joop homme aha ok he better not diss Obession for men Calvin Klein that's a master piece from the era
Even if I did crap on it, it wouldn't affect your life. You'd be ok
