  • I was asked to share more footage of the Makgadikgadi Pans and Kubu Island, so I thought I would do it in remembrance and to show my appreciation to a few people who are no longer with us that helped me learn and who contributed and are still contributing to many successful and very enjoyable overlanding trips.
    Hope you enjoy.

Thank you very much. Learning everyday but enjoying it. I’m using iMovie. Do you have a better suggestion? Thank you for watching.

Hi Bruce. Lovely place. We went there for our first time in Oct -22. Just wondering: your approach to the island seemed to come from across Sowa pan. Did you cross the whole pan? From Kukonje island maybe or am I completely mistaken?
    Keep up the nice photography!

Hi Per. No I approached from Nwetwe pan. I did circle the island and was on the Kukonje side for some of the filming as it's nicer I think. I would not try to drive to Kukonje across the pan from Kabul. Im not brave enough for that :)
Did you see the latest video where I stayed at Kukonje?
Thank you so much for watching and commenting and thank you for the compliment.

@@OverlandingwithBruce Yes I did see the video from Kukonje island. Got inspiration to go there myself next time around!
I appreciate the way you minimize the amount of selfies in your videos. Too many youtubers out here that are in love with their own reflection! 😖😂

@@PervonHofsten haha🤣 I know what you mean but im not good looking enough so prefer to avoid the selfies and besides I am not sure of the qualification criteria for being called a UA-camr so am taking it easy🤣. :)

Are the Camp Sites at Kubbu Island numbered …?
And How many are there…… ? It looks so remote, that one might drive round and round until…….

    • @OverlandingwithBruce
      @OverlandingwithBruce  2 роки тому +1

I think they are numbered but when you “check in” you can pick any campsite you like.
I don’t know how many there are but I would guess 20 to 25 maybe more. It’s very remote but hard to get lost. If you have the opportunity go. It’s an amazing place but I would recommend you go in the dry season.

      @@OverlandingwithBruce - Thnx. How does the 8th Sept ‘22 sound …… ?
      Should be dry.

September is a good month but sometimes can have lots of flys that time of year.

      @@OverlandingwithBruce - Where was Check-In …. ?
Somewhere near Nata ? Did you get a detailed Local (just the Pans, for example) Map … ? Where from - some folks have commented that Shell Garages are best bet

No we checked in at Kubu island. There is an office there. Use Tracks 4 Africa.
