Something I noticed in not only your videos but other POC influencers with darker skin tend to always say “maybe I could make it work” when trying complexion products & that’s really sad since lighter skin or non poc rarely ever have these problems. Even more annoying that companies don’t take color as the # 1 priority they need make complexion products for EVERYONE. No one should ever have to make complexion work
Us really pale ppl feel it too, honestly I have zero foundations that match me, undertone and lightness never match!
@@Sianzouu my cool toned pale ass agrees. It isnt as bad for us as for dark skinned people, but I have yet to find a foundation or concealer that's pale enough. Everything is too yellow/orange toned for me.
Sianzouu I’ve seen that as well! Undertones haven’t become a priority until recently and that is sad. I have a white, very pale skinned cousin and although she usually finds a foundation shade the undertones aren’t always right
Elise O'Neil I’ve noticed companies tend to see pale skinned individuals as only pink, red or too neutral undertones. Blue undertones exists as well as purple as green. And it’s very noticeable on pale skin when the undertone is off. Sucks that even when even white people are the target demographic they still fuck shit up
Only "Tan" people seem to really be able to find a match!
At this point, companies should literally just be like "make the shades, send them to Jackie, and then fix them accordingly"😂
Or they could actually hire PoC for their product development team and stop being dragged after every release lol!

I think it would give them that shitty excuse of "we already hired one black person, we don't have to have a whole team." The real issue is their lack of diversity in their team. Jackie is super knowledgeable, but it would be more appropriate to hire wonderful men and women who are underrepresented by these hideous "shades" and the company as a whole.

The shades look really bad. (On camera) they look like 13 Shades of light and like 5 shades that are tan - deep. (This is just what it looks like on camera, it might look different in real life 🤷🏼♀️)

They are highlighting shades no cool tones all of them are warmtones the middle shades are for people with light medium skin like me But when im Tan in spring n summer a lot of shades are too light or too dark u are right the shade range is bad and So are the undertones if u have golden or yellow undertones this will work and if u dry stay Away from it But if u oily use an eye cream this concealer is really drying
I think its the camera and lighting because I looked on their site and the swatches look WAYYYYY different
They are very light, basically no medium shades honestly. What I can say is that they oxidize so when I finish my makeup the color isn’t too light. It is a very good full coverage concealer tho

Considering this is elf, this concealer range is chill. I’m down with it. Maybe (hopefully) they will expand.

a friend of mine works at elf and was telling me how excited she is about this concealer, and how this range is pretty good, obviously not the best, but more than expected from elf. i’m always in the market for a good matte as hell high coverage concealer so i’m hyped for this
I think E.I.F. for being a brand that you can practically find everywhere from drugstore to grocery store have the most amazing products. I do think they could invest more development in their tinted moisturizers/foundations not a fan of them. Hoping they open more E.L.F. stores thought it was incredible when I heard they have them now.

I bought the concealer in light beige about three weeks ago and I'm so glad I'm not the only one who finds the concealer drying. They also released the “flawless finish” concealer that isn’t a matte finish, it’s def dewy compared the camo concealer... same amount of shades w the same names. They also expanded their shade range to 40 shades... btw I’m so hype you reviewed this product because elf has def stepped it up.

Finally subscribed and as a pro MUA with basically translucent skin (since all I do is work) I have found myself watching so many of your videos, for different techniques with deep/dark skin that has really really payed off. As a girl with fair skin I only know what I’ve been taught and from experience and it has been difficult at times to find ways solid resources to learn more without being offensive to people. I have zero issue acknowledging what I don’t know, so to find classes/books/private edu/brand management/videos that help educate my pale ass in these shade ranges for correcting, contour, tone, etc really hasn’t been the easiest. So when I did find myself coming back to your channel and using tips and applying those while working. I have to applaud you because I personally have seen a difference, so I hope you know how talented at education you are! I really appreciate all of your talent, techniques, knowledge, and personality you share. You’re so incredibly beautiful and I really believe you’re making a huge difference in the world by opening up dialogue more, sadly when it should have been already open for discussion. So thank you for helping all of us out there learn in a fun, blunt, honest way. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Jackie, they came up with more shades on the foundation too. The Flawless finish foundation, they have 40 shades, I believe. They added more shades after Coco. I have a review on my channel

Trying this after the hype for it on tik tok, as a daily Tarte Tape shape concealer i have my own opinions. It dries faster than tart and once it dries it STICKS. And can form harsh lines that don’t blend out. I used to spot conceal and under eye with tarte and let it sit while I quickly did my brows, mascara and eyeliner. Then blend it. Canttt do that with the elf it gives it too long to dry. I say blend it within 30 second -1minute after application maximum. And also I have severely oily skin and just like every other concealer it still separates and coverage fades as the day goes on but that’s all of them. 🤷🏼♀️ but for 5$ I can deal with it

Hate to admit it but the beauty blender foundation has a couple darker olive shades 😬 also the abh stick foundation is hella underrated and has olive shades too

For balling on a budget, I love ELF. As I have a lighter skin tone with pink undertones I feel as if the brand really caters well to my skin tone. Although, I find it ridiculous that there isn’t as many shades in the richer section. There is like 1-2 shade gaps between shades...how embarrassing 😬🤦♀️
The more I watch Jackie's videos the more I wish I could be more like her.... I love you Jackie😍 I am watching you everyday to see if I can learn to put makeup on somewhat like you... hopefully I learn enough to do my wedding's make up. This is my favorite make up look so far. gonna keep it real, that IS the benefit. ur never bloated or anything when u drink it. and its got vitamins n stuff. but yea the probiotics in it are the main benefit.

FINALLY a shade that might be as pale as me in elf. I got the shade light in their other concealer yesterday, and i could of bronzed with it. Gave it to my mom which is olivey medium.

Your review of the elf concealers is spot on though! I recently purchased this and because I’m a noob to makeup application I assumed there was something wrong with my application of the product but when you described it being quick drying and difficult to blend - I can identify with that!
