Sound like AMAZING Book! Thanks Jeff!
It's awesome, especially if you want to perform walk-around magic!
@@EruditeMagic is perfect for me if I want to do like you part time.thanks!
Great recommendation💓.
Especially if you want to do walk-around!
Revisiting this book again… I’m convinced, this is the best magic related book ever! So much value in these pages!
💯 - it's like someone needs to reprint it!
Great episode. I met Jamie at Magic Live some years ago, and you’re right, he’s one heck of a nice guy. But for some reason, it took me a couple years before I picked up The Approach. Boy, I wish I’d read it sooner. After several decades of doing walk around magic off and on, I really wish he’d have written this, and I’d read it, 30 years ago. There are so many good tips.
Thanks for sharing, Jim!
Obviously if you’re going to perform for people for the first time, the butterflies in the stomach must be intense and a book like this must be a gold mine to give you the necessary advise.Better to be armed with good practical advice to help you get through a paying performance than to bluff as it were your way through with all the possible pitfalls that entails.Good practical advice can give a person confidence.Obviously you should know the technical parts of your act inside out and back to front and have emergency outs etc.Kudos to all magicians that go out and perform in front of paying audiences. Just got Apocalypse vol 6-10.Juicy!Luv it!
The red volume of Apocalypse is awesome. Enjoy!
@@EruditeMagic The black one is out of print I think.Hope they do a reprint but doubtful.Do you have the black one?Is it as good as the red one?Keep up with the great work!👏
I have all four, and I believe all of them are out of print. It may be possible to find new copies occasionally, but they're out of print
@@EruditeMagic Totally jealous! Are they all as good as the red one?Still you’ve got to get the good books while you can because they don’t stay in print forever(and rarely reprint).Have you done a review on the Apocalypse books?Cheers.
I'm currently reading Mr Jennings Takes it Easy & Tesseract by Mike Powers.
Jealous about Jennings! Enjoy
Yeah I remember watching those Magic Friday episodes. He seems like a great guy .
Agreed 💯
So nice getting to chat with you this weekend!! I read the approach, and a month later I had a residency at a local restaurant! Some amazing tips inside!!
Same to you, Jake! Thanks for everything you did to make MagiFest run smoothly.
That's awesome about The Approach. Were the amazing tips inside the restaurant or the book? 🤔😆🤑
As a prelude to Jeff's review: this is an excellent book. Highly recommended.
Thank you, Luc!
Thanks for the great review Fernando!
😄👍 - it was great to meet you, Andy!! I'll have to give you a shout next time I'm in your neck of the woods
Sounds like a great read. If only I wasn't 869 hours behind on my reading list... What am I reading now? Mike Caveneys' "" and an 1865 first edition of "A Nurse and Spy in the Union Army" by Sarah Emma Edmonds, Civil War soldier. -- it's research for a mentalism show.
Nice! Don't worry, it will be there for you
869 hours, that's not that bad :-)
This looks like a great book to read. Very nice review 👍😊👍😊👍😊👍😊
Thank you, glad you liked it!
Last year Jamie said he would make an ebook of The Dennis Loomis Chop Cup Routine (which is sold out in hard copy). Unfortunately that hasn't happened yet... I would love to read that booklet.
Well, I wasn't completely right. He was considering it :-)
This review covered this great book so well. My thought process for buying the book was that $75 might be high for a book, but I gained significantly more value by watching his (free) Magic Friday show, which made this book an easy choice, all things considered. A book with good info which I also found inspiring to me to continue in magic. Thanks for another great review, Jeff!
You bet, John! Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.
Do you know where/how I can get a copy of this book? It seems to be sold out even online
It will be available soon (hopefully this week)
@@EruditeMagic oh great! On his website or elsewhere?
🤦 I responded to the wrong question with my earlier response. This book will be available later this year via Vanishing Inc. The comment about "this week" was about The Definitive Sankey
Curse you, curse you to magic heaven, Kowalk! I’ve now picked up “Perform”, “The Book”, and, now, “The Approach” due to your stellar reviews. And they are all excellent! Oh, and the customer service from Tim, Gene, and Jamie are second to none as well!
I know it’s a cardinal sin to respond to my own post but reading the above has reminded me to request your thoughts on a different “The Book”, the one from The Flicking Fingers. It, along with the DVD, are some of my favorite magic releases, much just from the novel formats they use.
😄👍 - "you're welcome"
I don't know the book to which you're referring. What else can you tell me about it?
@@EruditeMagic I wrote a longer response but it seems lost in the void. English version released in 1997 by Kaufman and Company. From the Flicking Fingers (including an idol of mine, Pit Hartling). Magic spans cards, rubber bands, coins, flowers, etc.
DVD of material from “The Book” was released under the title “The Movie” and has the most unique approach to explanations I’ve ever seen.
@@EruditeMagic Craig Petty talks about the Flicking Fingers book in his 5X5 today. Says “This is one of the best books I’ve ever read. It’s absolutely amazing.”
Hi Jeff, do you have any news about Miracle Factory?
Great video btw
Thanks for the kind words. I do not have any news on Todd Karr and the Miracle Factory - sorry 🤷
@@EruditeMagic Todd Karr has a long history of being late on his big projects, but he has always come through and shipped eventually. His Erdnase was meant to be released "this Fall" but he has had some COVID related issues with suppliers and shippers.
@@jimkl0 good to know, thanks!
