I think Alex was being super safe with this list, his actual collection is awesome and has tons of niche & interesting fragrances. But this list is definitely aimed at the masses 😊
absolutely😅
He made that pretty obvious in the first three seconds. If I'm only going to use 10 fragrances for the rest of my life, you best bet I'm going for versatility and mass appeal.
Out of all these mens style influencers, Alex is the least annoying. He seems like he actually likes what hes doing
What youtuber you watch if you think he is the least annoying
correction: Omar is the least annoying
Ikr, he doesn’t over exaggerate in every single video lol😂
@@BertilWAF Omars the GOAT!
TMF IS THE LEAST ANNOYING
I think Alex’s top 10 list is catered for those who are just starting their fragrance journey, so it isn’t bad at all I actually appreciate it. It’s not for those who have trained noses who are into niche.
for real, alex himself has a lot of niche perfumes, im talking about pdm, tom ford, nishane etc
Bottom line: Wear what you like.
He knocks Bleu De Chanel because everyone is wearing it now then immediately praises ADG Profumo saying it's popular as one of the first words to describe it LOL
@eden hazard what's that supposed to mean bro, I'm confused?
Everyone knows it, not everyone wears it. As simple as that
Havent even watched this video…but based on Alex Costa’s suit video I doubt he knows very much what he talks about
@@donkeybro6368 youre right, no need to watch it
bdc is way more used than adg profumo tbf
My Aventus is about a year old and lasts for 12+ hours, even though I go nose blind to it quickly. I don’t know if I have ever worn it, and not gotten a compliment…from men and women.
Prada LHomme is a masterpiece!
My Prada lhomme sucks
can we get your TOP 10 FOR LIFE? try and cover every area in 10 fragrances, it'd be interesting considering you prefer many different niche and less popular fragrances! Thanks
Love this reaction, I think Alex was going to safe. I like the fact that you called it out, because not only was it safe, these are fragrances that are already talked about in every single video. It did feel like Jeremy's list😄
the list is for top 10 for life, not top ten unknown or less popular. These fragrances are iconic and therefore belong on this list, even if they are over covered
agreed, had to thumbs down this video, baldie ego is getting to his head now that he has a few subscribers.
Dear Teacher,
I love your critique on other teachers. They are very informative and I enjoy comparing my learnings with yours.
I agree that other teachers should not imitate other teachers, although Alex most really look up to Jeremy to imitate his this much!
Very insightful. I do think we as students must expand our minds and accept other fragrances!
Kind regards,
Your Student
i like some of the videos that chaos fragrances, gentscents and justin copland come up with. they have a good mix of designer, niche and lesser known designer fragrances. thanks to them, i've had the chance to discover fragrances like cartier declaration d'un soir, theo cabanel et voila, lolitha lampecka green lover, diesel bad intense, aramis tobacco reserve, boucheron jaipur EDP and rayene tradition insurrection 2 wild. these may not all be the most versatile of fragrances, but they certainly are very interesting to me.
It’s not that “this is Jeremy’s list.” These are some of the highest rated, most popular fragrances for a reason. Most people love them. You’re gonna find a lot more people with lists like this than you will with people having Jubilation XXV and Naxos.
Niche is niche for a reason. It doesn’t appeal to everyone the way most of these mass pleasers do.
It’s a solid list, because he’s genuinely in love with them, like most people who smell them are. Not what I’d put in my top 10, but I can see why they’d be in anyone else’s.
For some reason when I sample aventus in stores, it lasts no more than 2 hours on my skin. When I use a sample I got from creed, it lasts 6+ hours. Interesting
I will say that I do appreciate that you are genuine and don’t sing the same song that everyone else does. You are honest
Keep your truthfull fragrance review omar. I personally love this kind of content...
I think I agree that Alex has been watching too much Jeremy. But I did notice a lot of the bottles were well used so at least he does wear them a lot. I have to admit I love Prada L'Homme but I can be old school and couldn't live without YSL Pour Homme, Hermes Equipage or vintage Habit Rouge EDT. And L'Instant de Guerlain was my signature for the last couple of years. Love your takes and wit when reviewing other reviews, would like to see this more often.
Thank you for watching!
😂
Alex chose to do a list for people who are starting their fragrance collection, he has a lot of niche fragrances, that has nothing to do with alex. btw, prada lhomme is goated
This is actually a decent list for someone starting into fragrances. Safe choices of course, but good to start with. Also bought 40 Knots and Nio recently - very much looking forward to them!!
So how was 40 knots.. I sampled it & was extremely disappointed. Smells like wet wood that soaked in ol’ school perfume
@@dwains9225 it’s quite good. A bit more suited for afternoon/evening time but suits itself pretty well to hot and cold weather too. I liked it.
Curly and you are my favorite fragrance reviewers keep up the good work bro
The list would be much much better if he gave 3 fragrances for each type of wear or occasion. There are some very good under rated designer fragrance that most guys don’t wear as they all flock to the luxury or niche brand . For example JV’s JV and Vintage are very interesting scents that no one wears, another simple scent is Aigner In Leather for Man
Earlier i only got influenced and purchased fragrances. With School of Scents i am actually learning the ingredients.
Great video and I enjoyed it and I like all of these fragrances and have a blessed day
Agree with just about everything you said! Dylan blue and allure spot eau extreme are super hyped and nice but I think there are better options for both. Also agree that prada l'homme is a bit sweet and not really my style. Prada L'homme intense is a much better option.
I have 10 that i've actually thought through. 2 for each function just so i have an alternate use. Day, montblanc explorer and versace eros flame. Night, coach platinum and armani code edp. Office, prada l'homme and dior homme sport 2021. Anytime, missoni parfum and rochas l'homme. For summer, ysl y live and polo deep blue parfum.
The hair care I burst out lol 😆 😂
I agree with you. I kinda of getting sick about hearing the same old Fragrance over and over.
Keep up the great videos!!
Loved the video. What’s the best leather fragrance in your opinion? And what is the strongest ?
Light Blue is perfect for summer and everyone loves it.
You can't be harsh on the guy, he's not an actual fragrance reviewer. Yes, he has a massive collection but that's not his main niche as he's more into fashion, grooming and dating. I personally think he's just playing it safe and rockin fragrances that simply work in spite how generic they may be to the fragrance community. Cheers!
I think the list is pretty good without being extremely generic like invictus or born in roma.
But yeah it could seriously use some spicing up
I agree, around 8/10 of the perfumes on his list (as well as his comments about those perfumes) are very similar to Jeremy's-especially the way he gushed about LNDL being a ladykiller fragrance.
I'm not surprised though. It doesn't seem like fragrances are his main thing & I'm sure he's just getting information from the most accessible fragrance guy on UA-cam. Not saying it's a bad thing. Just that if it's not what you're mainly interested in, you most likely would not put in as much effort into it. Seems like he's into fragrances simply because it's a complementary topic to fashion.
Hey Omar, how about featuring the top 10 fragrance reviewers : from best to worst, in your opinion?
My #1 for life is Chanel Platinum Egoiste
Thats a good choice.
I blind bought Prada Lhomme and like you said it felt too feminine for me i just couldnt get along with it, although i got a fair amount of compliments for it, i sold it shortly after buying it
same i couldn’t find my self to buy it when i would test it in stores.
i find unisex fragrances to be more masculine than lhomme not that i even care if it’s feminine leaning. but i just don’t like the way it smells personally.
Loved it at first whiff but am really glad I got a tester before buying it. It's a very unisex opening but becomes feminine in the drydown imo
Funny I felt the same about ADG Profumo. Didn't blow me away, gave it to my Father.
i wish i could try that fragrance, cant find it anywhere
parfums d'elmar - elixir d 'amour is the only perfume I need, pure perfection, shame I only have 50ml as it is pricey as hell lol
My 10 for life are:
Dior Homme Parfum
Xerjoff Naxos
Prada L'homme Intense
Giorgio Armani Stronger With You Absolutely
Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privee
Parfums De Marly Carlisle
Yves Saint Laurent Y EDP
Boucheron Jaïpur Homme EDP
Dolce&Gabbana The One EDP
Guerlain L'homme Ideal EDP
My top 3 beats your top 10
@@rwyo83 So what?
Your facial expressions are Hilarious! And hey, if you ever feel the inspiration to “give-away” another fragrance; I’d LOVE to accept! Much love
Learn from Aaron Terence Hughes. He does reviews well and is competent in describing what a fragrance smells like and why it is so.
His list seems to be for beginner fragrance collectors at least that's the types of fragrances I bought in the beginning of my collection
I myself prefer designer recommendations. I want to be able to go to a store, try a few samples and leave with a bottle or 2 to smell good
LNDL, Bleu de Chanel, Profumo, Aventus, Dylan Blue... Jeremy is that you?
Yeah you right...he pickup the list of the best seeling fragrance.
And he put down 😅
I mean...you check the list, and is quite similar to others...
I agree with the 2 scents options ambers, the Mancera and the Issey
Hy Omar... What do you think about Dior Homme Intense?.. im 20 it is fit for me at my age?
Bleu Electrique is good and all but it’s near impossible to find
I think nowadays once you switch from designer to niche you’ll never really go back, or if you do it’ll be a special release ie bleu electrique or something like that
But that's his own list! It could be similar to Jeremy's, but what's different in the community? All vloggers say the same thing, but in different styles! 😂 😂 😂 😂
This is irrelevant to the video but what cologne do you guys suggest that’s attractive and lasts a long time , I’ve got sauvage but that’s played out 👍🏿
CDNIM EDP if you want an affordable blind buy
@@SchoolofScent Is EDP really that much better? I have the EDT
3:02 …what’s wrong with juvenile? Granted, performance for Dylan Blue has dropped significantly over the years and is no longer a “prime” frangrande. But i think it’s still great and is a good to have in your collection.
Has anyone tried JPG Le Beau Male? (not the one with the coconut note). What do you think about it?
Look out for our JPG Buying Guide coming soon! (It’s a simple coconut & Tonka scent with soft projection, a ‘minimalist’ fragrance, I give it a 6/10 personally)
@@SchoolofScent from what i know Le Beau has the coconut note, not le Beau Male (white bottle with light blue stripes)
Personally i love more "hidden gems" and cheapies that smell good. The problem with people who are not into art of scents is that they just buy popular stuff and something that popular influencers talk about like Jeremy . The main reason i don't wanna own Sauvage and Bleu de Chanel is because everyone smells the same and what's the point of it? The point is to be unique and not just another fish in the sea. Love Alex and i wish he talked more about cheapies or hidden gems or some nieche quality fragrances instead of the crowd pleasing ones that everyone knows about
Exactly what I'm trying to say...... people give compliments on wearing blue scents because that is the only type of fragrance they have smelled and used in their life btw i am only talking about our current generation......in 80s and 90s the fragrances used to be green....fresh spicy aromatic.....only green notes and florals Citruses and resents were used to make fragrances......more naturals were used in cheaper fragrances because not many fragrance molecular were invented back that....so cheap Fragrance of that era are more like niche of this era....the same perfume of 80s and 90s that are selling todays gets reformulated or water down for more profit.....IFRA Also played a big Role in this.....
No it’s not. The point is to smell good. 80-90% of men don’t wear cologne like what the hell are you talking about
@@smoove3968 Yes,smell good, not smell like every 3rd guy on the street. It's like if everyone listened to the top 10 Spotify all the time. No point in that and no uniqueness
@@smoove3968 i don't like blue Fragrances nor i recommend them to people.....but everyone has their own taste if you love them wear it proudly....every has right to give there option.....to agree and to degree its our personal choice....do whatever it make you happy...you love blue Fragrances rock them....
@@4DMIIR agree with your....but some people just wear Fragrance for sake of compliment...i wear Fragrance for my own enjoyments than for getting compliments....its not i don't like complements but i don't want them wearing a generic blue Fragrances because i don't like blue Fragrances....
But i love green scents.... woody spicy aromatic chypre...mossy that is what i like wearing instead of blue fragrance....i mostly wear citrus and Vetiver scents in high heat...
I think Alex’s channel is Made for young Men and teens so I think he’s trying to help people start fondo gli their style. To be honest I think a teen who still lives with his parents can not start a collection with expensive Niesce fragances
exactly, and this list is really solid
I very much agree with you, but it doesn't mean that his choices are bad. 😁😁😁
POWER!!!🙂
Hey Sos Bro, which is the best Mancera ?
Cedrat Boise or Cedrat Boise Intense
Get a sample and see what blows you away .
Not sure if you saw but you were briefly in a video for a split second on a big tech channel called UrAverageConsumer at 9:13 of a video called something along the lines of day in the life of iPhone 14 pro max. I’m paraphrasing I honestly can’t remember the exact title I just remember what time it was hahah not that you would care since it’s literally a split second but still interesting watching two completely different worlds collide. I was like wait that dude looks familiar!
That is surreal, thanks for pointing it out haha
@@SchoolofScent haha For sure man! Like I said in a previous comment you don’t do the typical bullshit reviews. You’re raw, honest and genuine. People respect and appreciate someone who’s genuine and not just someone pumping out those shitty top 10’s with a variation of the same fragrances but for different seasons. Sure you have your own take on those videos but you’ve got your own sense of style and character. Keep up the great work!
Great video, can you give us your top 10 list ???
I'd say Eau Givree for the one summer fragrance
I agree eith most of Alex's list, even though it is predictable and unimaginative. I personally love Prada L'homme and think Dylan Blue has a place in a collection. When you said he was ripping Jeremy off I was not convinced until LA Nuit De L'Homme came out. ThannI jumped aboard! Alex is not an authority on fragrance. Hopefully, he is a gateway for his subs for quality frag channels like School Of Scent!
Chill virgin😂
Very much a JF klone video. I was waiting for MB Inderviduel to be announced.
Yea. Jeremy vibes.. this is a beginners list.. straight from the Ultra Beauty store. Nothing wrong with one’s personal preferences, but like I said this is for beginners
I love his list, but they are not top 10 and I find it strange that the only niche pick is the most mainstream niche cologne. I think 5 designer 5 niche is fair for a UA-cam video. For me, I didn't go through my list but I easily assume all 10 are niche.
You are right Jeremy fragrance's 5 years old video list said by Alex Costa . 😅🙏
You guys should try Dior Higher. I bet you no one is wearing that nowadays
Can't agree with him on TF Ombre Leather, I wear it all day, nearly every day. It's my No.1 go to, and it's easy to wear. As for price, I think for the quality, it's very much on target if not imo, slightly under-priced.
Dylan Blue weak…?? Come on now. Sounds like some bias.
I’m not a big Dylan Blue fan… but it still smells pleasant enough and is fairly strong and I have skin that soaks fragrance up for lunch..
Hightly recommended you try his forte product , i think it’s amazing😊
dylan blue wants to be layered with retro leather frags
Jeremy's top 10 include Nautica Voyage. I disagree with you 🤣
Yes, just copied Jeremy's list xD. Of course, I appreciate majority of this perfumes for skills of a perfumer and scent profile, I think it is a nice choice but with the lack of character a little bit. I agree with @Josh. I appreciate this list as well, I don't think these perfumes are bad, some of them I love actually, but it needs something more interesting. I suggest to try classic French style of perfumery, chypres orientals and fougeres. Try Chanel Egoiste for example, Alex. xd
As I said, I am a huge fan of this old French Classic style which was more alive back in the days. You, Omar helped me to really understand my style and this what I actually love. I earned lots of experience and got fascinated with chemistry in perfumes. My personal life perfumes should be Chanel Egoiste EDT, Sartorial by Penhaligon's or Bvlgari Terre Essence for example. I like when classic style is getting back to life by modernized perfumery as well, I wish to see it developing in this direction. I am waiting for Mr Fragrant with patience. Kind regards, Brother
i love lapidus pour homme i just adore dior jules and homme intense, bogart furyo is awesome summer time i love miliseme imperial but i dont have so much left so its not getting used much i like dior home eau,, quorum roger gellet open, encre noir, Fahrenheit aqua, and eau sauvage parfum, and my all time fave fahrenheit parfum in the winter, blue electrique for date night sexy
Omar shit eating, sly smirk is phenomenal!!😂
Jeremy it's a fxxxing legend, he make me buy Ultra male , Allure homme sport eau extreme, La nuit de l'homme, Invictus aqua 2016, no regret whatsoever.
I can trust your judgement , you say things people are afraid to say 😂😂
My man Alex Costa getting banged just because of his dope ass hairstyles that make SOMEONE jealous. Hahhaha
Cheers mate, great video. More content like this pls.
The guy is basically recommending known safe fragrances. The list is not wrong, but there is nothing unique. How is ejaazi intensive silver vs bleu electrique?
I gave up on finding LNDL Bleu Electrique, and heard Ejaazi Intensive Silver was a near clone, I just haven't worn it much yet this year to get a feel for it, but I think it will be nice once it cools down a little more. The only YSL I have is L'Homme EDT, which to me is a good classy, dressed up, or office scent, and not offensive at all. Not bold and daring, but not gonna make anyone freak. I like colder weather fragrances more, bring on the leather, tobacco, spice, vanilla, cardamom, whiskey/rum smells. Sorry, I guess I didn't answer your question at all. Lol. Chaos Fragrance did a video saying he thinks it's a clone of bleu electrique though.
Alex gave his opinion on the fragrances he chose. We all know that the opinion of each person can be and often is different. Without some background support provided by Omar and others here who make fragrances their profession, Alex’s opinions meant nothing to me. There is nothing like sampling and wearing to choose your own favorite scent. Testing in the stores, or researching and ordering decants of the ones that sound like they fit your style are the most efficient and economical ways to build your own library of “cant live without” fragrances. That is my opinion. 😂
Am afraid his list is a starter pack. Niche
I think your hating because he started focusing more on hair 😂
Jeremy has a comment "POWER" on Alex's video 🤣
I don't like Dylan blue I wish they come out with an EDP that they need to do
Outdated I personally wouldn't pick any of them but that's just my taste I'd have much more Niche fragrances
Alex Costa isn’t my cup of tea…
But I can appreciate the fragrance collection.
Does have a hell of a head of hair..
From a guy suffering from male patterned baldness… I’m envious of the hair game.
@@houseadams4841 lmao, he indeed has a hair game out of this world
I feel like a lot of the “men’s style” UA-camrs choose the very safe and overused recommendations instead of actually diving deeper. Every time I’ve seen a video of his on the topic it makes me disappointed not because it’s a bad video but because they (men’s style) offer the most basic mass appealing overly used designer ones and more often than not their choices are outdated as well
And as you said you could watch a Jeremy video and see the exact same being displayed. Both of these lists seem like a ok starting point though I still they’re outdated at least in terms of the “mass appealing” starter perfumes that are out today
Well Aventus is a great fragrance and hacivat is a winner .
Omar didn’t hold back on this one 😂
Picked up woody mood thoughts?
Idk man, those are all just really basic and safe picks, and I think that's ok. He's got all the bases very well covered with those 10.
What are your thoughts on joop Homme EDP?
I think actually Alex has started recommending more interesting scents, I feel like back in the day when this was recorded he just wasn't that well educated about fragrances.
Yeah I appreciate this is a 2020 video, good to hear!
Never heard of him . But I do know your channel
hair care lol - i know how you feel :)
Lol!😂 it does sound like Jeremy
bro literally just ctrl c + v from jeremy fragrance 😂
he did a vanilla list!
Dylan blue .. you hate it but gurls love it
much prefere bleu chanel in the edt version no idea why everyone says edp i gave mine away very boring but hey im not a fan of the whole bleu fragrance thing
Eau extreme is soooo fire 🔥
The whole "smell unique" thing is silly. It's a fragrance. People are going to wear them. You're not going to be special. Wear what smells good. You're not a rare snowflake. And honestly. People want compliments and crowd pleasers. You get no points for being "niche" and impressing a bunch of dude fragrance lovers. It's super snobby. Not sorry.
Well said sir
Power baby !
😂😂😂😂😂 yo i swear I thought I was the only that was thinking that way about those certain fragrances
