Not necessarily though there is a fair amount of overlap but that’s not necessarily a negative. Having a diverse portfolio is KEY; that being said my initial deposit of 90K has grown to over $650K in only just ten months :)
It’s disheartening seeing my 90000 portfolio in the red, every stock I have, 40 something different stocks all dropped. My question is what are the best opportunities to accrue profits now amidst market correction?
What's your strategy? I put in a fair amount over a year ago but I am barely breaking even, and I feel pretty stupid for not understanding how investing works. I have a double major in economics but I’ve been trying to make sense of the market. Well done on profits!

My own experience in manufacturing is this: 2020 and a decade before we worked 10 hours a day, 5 days a week with the odd Saturday. Since 2021 we have consistently had less work, lower volume of orders and higher costs. Follow this trend to current day, early august has traditionally been part of the busiest times of our year. This year, we are working 3 days a week after laying off half of the plant. My shift went from 22 employees to 10. My own opinion is that we have BEEN in a recession all this year (2024) as my work never got busy. Let’s hope we get some competent leadership soon before more layoffs occur.
I, along with many coworkers, will be out of work in less than 2 weeks. Most of the remaining employees will be out of work in a few months. "Competent leadership" would be someone who restores the free market, reduces regulations, reduces taxes, eliminates the deficit... Central economic planning, debt, fiat currency are the reasons for our bubble economy and inflation.
The recession is here, where do investors look at for wealth gains now? mortgage rates still on the rise with higher imports and lower exports, yet the Fed is to lessen cost. Something will eventually break if they keep raising interests and quantitative tightening.

"Recession is here?" Clickbait! Definition of recession: "A recession is a significant, widespread, and prolonged downturn in economic activity. A common rule of thumb is that *two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth* indicate a recession. However, more complex formulas are also used to determine recessions." Where are those 2 quarters? And FEDs goal is to bring down inflation! Higher unemployment rates (lower labor cost) help to achieve this goal.
Where are those 2 quarters? Well, you don't know that you are in one or out of it until it is long started or long over. You see, two quarters is six months. You could have a six month recession and you wouldn't know it for sure until weeks after it is over (when all the financial data is analyzed, verified, and then reported). This is far away from a recession. It's just a normal market correction after a long bull run. Nothing special. And if somebody insists in these claims of recession........well......just invest in SQQQ !! :-)
recession start with high voljtality in the market as result of questionable earrnings and bad data
Agree. Not even close to a recession. The is all part of the FED plan to slow the economy and bring down inflation. The job market is still very strong.
The stock market tanking and a recession are two different things. Not sure why you’re conflating them. The stock market isn’t the economy.
I'm thinking my novice thesis will apply. When they cut interest rates, the market will fall. Not financial advice.
Retooling. It'll come.back up if you're not retired yet.
How do most of you guys still make profit, even with the downturn of the economy and ever increasing life standards
Well, I picked the challenge to put my finances in order. Then I invested in cryptocurrency, stocks, through the assistance of my discretionary fund manager
Stephanie Aaron Trentham.
This is correct, Stephanie strategy has normalized winning trades for me also and it's a huge milestone for me looking back to how it all started.
The first step to successful investment is figuring your goals and risk tolerance either on your own or with the help of a financial professional but it's very advisable you make use of professional.
I don't really blame people who panic. Lack of information can be a big hurdle. I've been making more than $21k passively by just investing through an advisor, and I don't have to do much work. Inflation or no inflation, my finances remain secure. So I really don't blame people who panic.
There is another possibility you have not talked about a high c p i print…the will be the worst possible because the fed won’t be able to cut at all in September…translation hard lending deep recession 😮😮😮
No. They will cut rates. They have to consider all factors. All of their goals are being met.
There is no recession. Yet. I know u want a recession but the charts have not dropped low enough yet. Hopefully Monday it will drop more
Covid taught me that we just redefine the definition of a cliff so we don't fall off.
Just basically short the market and you’ll be making more than holding for the past years lol
Nope. Lower is great for buying. Buy low -- sell high.
Sell everything and stick the money in your mattress 😅
Lol. And let that cash depreciate by 20% each year.
😂
Buy low and sell high. The dips are when you make your money.
😂😂😂
The Harris Hyena has brought the Kamala Krash!
I thought it was the Trump Dump!
