"Day and Night" was wrote and composed, and even choreographed by Taemin. When Taemin was selecting songs for this album, he didn't really like any of the songs SM was suggesting for him, so he decided to write a song himself. And "Day and Night" is what he came up with.
He happened to be in the middle of a concert tour at this time as well, so he didn't have a whole lot of time to work on the choreography either. However, because it's Taemin, he just decided to wing it, and if you watch several live performances of "Day and Night" you will see that the choreography changes almost every time he performed it. He was still working on the choreography during filming of the MV and even during promotions for the song, so he was continuously tweaking and changing parts of the dance during each performance. I'm not sure if he ever actually finalized the choreography.
The MV was filmed in JeJu Island in South Korea. JeJu is considered one of Korea's most beautiful and peaceful vacation spots. So it was fitting that this MV, with such a peaceful and otherworldly feeling, was filmed there.
One of cool and rather sad things about Move-ing is how rushed it was. SM wanted to capitalize on the runaway success of Move and told Taemin to just use one of his Japanese songs for the title track (I’m crying I believe 🤔). Taemin wasn’t satisfied with that though and sat down and wrote part of the melody in his spare time and sent it off to a composer. Grabbed a crew over a weekend and filmed this video on Jejudo. And was still in the process of choreographing the song himself when it debuted on music shows. Which is why you can see huge changes from the first week to the next as he fiddled with what he wanted. There is actually a really cool comparison video on UA-cam showing the two dances side by side.
I love Day and Night first as a piece of music that grabbed me from the first time I heard it. 😍 Then as a piece of moving art watching Taemin dance both versions. But after knowing what he went through because he was determined as an artist to put out quality for us as his fans 🥺 I adore it even more 🥰
I swear I groove to this song when working and i totally agree, it has that dancing in the rain vibes. Taemin’s MVs that are more stripped back are always filmed in such beautiful locations, I love it.

I recommend you can see the live performance of the song named "itsuka kokode" at Taemin's first solo concert in Japan at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo. At the end of the concert, Taemin sang the song and played piano at the same time. It is really a beautiful song. When he sang it, I almost wanted to cry.

Thank you for sharing your reaction to this mv, Tors1e 💜 While I love the live stages and performances (with the choreography Taemin designed in flight in between gigs), this mv reminds me of much Taemin loves nature. I'm glad he can go sit by the Han river now if he wants to.... his vocals. His performances are really stylized, from his coiffed dark hair and clothing, so different from baseball cap Taemin.
