A Memorable 5D4N Family Getaway to Maafushi, Maldives
Day 1:
Our family adventure kicked off with a stay by the sea in Hulhumale, where the gentle waves and fresh sea breeze welcomed us. We chose this stopover as there were no night boats available upon our late arrival. The 5$ cab ride to Hulhumale city was convenient.
Day 2:
Embarking on our journey to Maafushi, we opted for the thrilling 30-40 minute speedboat ride from Velana Airport, a great choice at 25$ per adult and 12.5$ per child. Alternatively, a budget-friendly 4$ local ferry also available from Hulhumale Ferry Terminal, takes you there in 1.5-2 hours. Upon reaching Maafushi, we strolled a short 5-7 minutes to Triton Prestige Seaview & Spa, where warm towels and welcoming drinks awaited.
Day 3:
A day filled with excitement as we embarked on a Seadrop Tours full-day excursion for 45$ per person, inclusive of lunch. Snorkeling gears and towels were provided, and we couldn't resist capturing the stunning scenery with a drone photography service for just 15$ per family.
Day 4:
Exploring Maafushi on quadracycles, we covered the 1.2km easily accessible by walking or cycling. Switching to Kaani Palm Beach for our anniversary celebration added a touch of surprise. Local dining options offered a variety, making each meal an exploration of flavors.
Day 5:
Our last day was filled with cultural exploration in Male. A speedboat ride back allowed us to visit Shell Beans Cafe, the tomb of Abdul Barakat Yoosuf Al Barbary, the historic Hukuru Miskiyy, Republic Square, Masjid Al-Sultan Muhammad Thakurufaanu Al-Auzam, and the vibrant Fish Market & Local Market. Lunch at Seagull Cafe’ was a delightful way to end our Maldivian adventure.
This family-friendly trip was a perfect blend of island tranquility, thrilling excursions, and cultural discoveries, making Maafushi an ideal destination for all ages.
