When You Die You're Dead by Jimmie's Chicken Shack. It's a banger and so full of truth in every line. The last line is the title, but I have to add,.. but you're NOT!!!, cos only the body dies. Spirit is eternal
Dont know if your community has tried to get you into karnivool yet but i think youd like them if u like tool id suggest "goliath" "new day" "we are" to start. I love the channel just started watchin the past few weeks, hopefully they make the 4runner they have great production
With so many youtubers jumping on the Tool band wagon these days it nice to see someone who actually appreciates the music... I've been a member of the Tool army since the 90's and I can tell you're a real one. Keep it up dude.

So this is a cover by Peach, an Aussie (I think) band, they opened for Tool supporting Undertow. Long story short.... Justin was the Bassist for Peach, and Paul wanted more control over the band (Unverified, but probs true) Paul was out, Justin was asked to audition, and now Tool is one of the most legendary bands of all time!!
This is a Cover of a Peach song by tool. Although Justin Chancellor left Peach to become Tools new bassist. But you got it 1/3 right. Justin Chancellor is in fact British.
First of all….it’s great to see a brotha appreciating good music!! I was introduced to Tool in 2007, while stationed in Germany. I hate that I was late to the scene but, I’m thankful nonetheless. “You Lied”…..that’s just a hard ass tune! Just when you think it’s over…..Maynard CRUSHES the ending with that hyper-extended yell…..”You Lied”!!!!!! Awe man!! Salute to Tool for the gems…..salute to you Polo for the recognition👍🏾👍🏾
@@marcreed4031 I think it’s the song that was most like a precursor of what was to come on future albums; if that makes sense. It’s the most like their later songs.
You should force yourself to listen to the Salival album then. You probably missed Merkaba as well, it's primarily a instrumental song with some lyrics but just a typical Tool musical experience like no other band does
I like your fair and balanced disposition and general love of music. Cross culturally music units us and I live your personal takes on your reaction videos. Keep up the good work.
Yes, Buzz helping Adam on this song of greatness. I mean live and no mistakes I hear. Led Zep used 2 b my fav, but now Tool is and their cover of Led's song No Quarter is amazing also. U spot on about Adam. He is not a ripper on solos, but they are precise, strong and stay within the song and so powerful.
heres one a lot of people don't know about. there's a justin chancellor remix of Puscifer's Simultaneous. It's got less than 100k views, but i really like what he added to the original
Wasn’t Buzz from the Melvins jamming jamming with them on this song from when they were touring at one point or just as a guest.. I believe I read this on the sleeve from when I bought the Album.
Great song. There is a more recent live version were Justin sings backup vocals. This one, I believe Buzz Osbourne from The Melvins played guitar with them as well. (if you havent check them out, you should. Anything from their album 'Houdini' )
❤❤❤ I go back and forth on wether 10,000 days is my favorite album or Eanema…or Lateralus…ooh, or Undertow. I definitely get into an Undertow mood…Opiate is great for some old school Tool though. Salvia is a must listen though…
I'd be curious as to your thoughts on the original (it's available on UA-cam) & Tool's version it. Not necessarily as a reaction video (unless you want to), but just as a comment.
So that sound that you don’t find pleasing is called feedback. You are right about it generally being unpleasing to the ears. But a lot of 90’’s bands used feedback in their music as an artistic tool.(No pun intended) it’s can be used to convey a range of emotions but generally rage and is also used for ambience. Or to represent destruction. To set the tone. As well as cleanse the pallet as you you were saying. But mainly to make you feel uneasy. Nirvana is notorious for using feedback to convey pure rage. It’s quite a useful tool and sometimes fits the song/mood. If used right it can be a beautiful thing.
I love tool they are one of my favorite bands. Adam was a huge influence on my guitar style and playing. I never could play fast like Dimebag from pantera. He’s my favorite guitar player but at some point we have to look in the mirror and admit we just don’t have big enough hands to do what Dime did. But we can do what Adam does and we need to be more like Chewie
Somehow at 42 years of age I never got to this one. I’m gonna hear it with you. 😎 Edit: Um… while not identical I can’t unhear Descending out of this baseline. Yes this came first but I heard it after. Quite the opposite but the same as I can’t unhear Flood within Tempest main/initial riff.
Nobody tell me that Buzz can't play, dammit...I love the fact they incorporated one of Justin's songs from his old band onto their live album...and it's a great fucking song...
The 90 where so great for rock and metal that's what this nation needs great bands like this even rappers are sick of posers all over when ur just not about that.. rock was like so tuff man I think most military love rock metal.. guy I know said they blasted it in iraq.
Buzz Osborne from The Melvins also played on this track (it was recorded live with him as a guest). Check out "A History of Bad Men" by The Melvins. Good shit.
Idk if you said this because I didn't have enough time to watch the whole reaction but, "You Lied" is actually a TOOL cover of Justin Chancellor's old band called PEACH.
this was played live! Its also a cover of a song by Justin's old band Peach (this was recorded a few years after he joined) They don't sound anything like Tool so I don't know if you'd like them.
This entire album is live and is completely amazing, I stand by Push it live is the definitive version and somehow they did a better job on No Quarter than Zepp...and that is saying a lot

Replace "Tool army" with "a fan of Tool," and your comment will be far less cringe inducing. You're not the only one... but c'mon 😅

I was going to say both Justin and Peach are from London England. 😅 Fact check much?

well said my friend...............tool army est. 1993...........
ThI beginning is basically descending
Best concert I've ever seen... Seeing them live you get to feel that bass go right through you , sound quality second to none
I always feel the bass on this song gives it a Sabbath vibe
The whole Salival album is WELL worth a full listen. You will not be disappointed if you're a Tool fan. Enjoy this trip my friend!
Like a choir haunting vibe and the band punches it just right throughout the song. A masterpiece.
Their cover of zeppelins "no quarter" is also amazing
Yes, it's as good as we say it is.
One of the best. Got that opera atmosphere, prolly the only one in their entire catalog. Maybe wings for Marie part 1 and 2. A real gem
I love the interplay of the guitar work by Adam Jones and Buzz Osborne (from The Melvins).
Buzz is a legend. Big Melvins fan here.
I thought buzz was in this, love when hes involved with AnYtHiNg

Maynard sounds like he's doing Gregorian chants in this song. So epic.
Wow I forgot about this song. That riff!!
The first time I saw Tool live, "The Melvins" opened.

This is LIVE, cannot forget that...Crazy good!
For some reason I always get a Christmas feel from Maynards singing on this one.
UNDERTOW COMING SOON LOVE THAT ALBUM :DDDD
Amazing video as always Polo. Great choice. I too had forgotten about this song. Thanks for bringing it back to the front
How many times can I watch this on repeat? Well, infinite! ❤ love this reaction. Love this song. Love this band. ❤❤❤
Best.Band.Ever. I stand firm behind that.
Ok, the out scene...FIRE! That's why I subd. Tool is in a category by themselves.

Adam is next level on Fear Inoculum. Shockingly more advanced than all previous albums.
Getting closer and closer to the cries of the carrots.
Such hauntingly beautiful vocals masked under the disgustingly hard riffs and droning melody. One of their best behind sober.
Let’s goooo! I’m ready for some tool!

I love AJ’s guitar feedback! Each to their own. 👍🏼🇦🇺
Eulogy is next, I think that’s one of the last major songs you have to still get to, as well as Opiate^2
Not sure if you've done anything from the "Opiate" album. I've requested "Cold and ugly" several times.

12th Century Gregorian Chant is Maynard's melody, invented by Monks
This is my 25th+ time hearing it and i still get chills!
Very dark and godly piece.
My favorite Maynard scream.

Not on the top top top of my list. But there's something hypnotic about the way he sings this one.
It's a heavy lullaby

Countless Maynard screams throughout their discography. This is my fav, with H and Pushit close behind

Didn’t Justin come from the band Peach?
Yes. It's ugly and beautiful. And epic.

Just ment been other answers ,now it's my answer
Tool didn't write this song. The bassist Justin was in a band before TOOL called Peach and they wrote the song. Cool song.
Tool introduced me to Failure and Peach. If I hadn't already owed them my life for their own music, I definitely would have for their recommends.
