My best friend did this show locally several years back and I was immediately hooked. I’ve seen every clip I could find of the 2009 revival. The end of “Flesh Failures” has gotten me through a lot and helped remind me to let the sun shine in when it felt impossible. Thank you.
they were right the recording truly captured the passion of the show.... when i first listened to the tracks before doing the show (which i'm Performing in next Sunday ) i was happy and sad and all of the emotions in between it was beautiful and i hope this generation and others to come will keep letting the sunshine in and showing all that WE GOT LIFE
My parents had the original broadway cast soundtrack on LP when I was a kid. I didn’t know anything about the show but I just loved the music, just so many great songs and music with great performances. My parents are both gone now and I am 55 but I still have the album. I might give it a spin tomorrow actually..
Seeing my AMAZING highschool friend, Darius Nichols, in his raw element brings such joy to my heart!! I can't believe this was 10 years ago and he's gone on to do so many more awesome things! We all love you, Darius!!! You might be a Broadway star, but you'll always be the Pride of Herndon!! 💗
Well, Groff was originally considered for Claude, but had other commitments at the time (my timeline might be off, but I think he would've been doing Glee around the same time). So the role went to Gavin Creel

Someone should have told that fool that Hair was written by James Rado, Gerome Ragni (who wrote the lyrics and book, and played Claude and Berger in the original cast), and Galt McDermot (who composed the music), not Andrew Lloyd Weber!
Ahh this musical is criminally underrated
It literally is not.
This was my first broadway show. I'll never forget this cast.

Woooww...only now I found out there's such a recording!!! This musical is an icon of an era!!!

WHAT A CAST!!!!!! WHAT A SHOW IT WAS!!!
Damned shame that they didn’t film the performance.....

you knew the guy who played Hud? cool!
These people are so talented! Amazing to see how the pros work in a studio.
Gavin Creel's voice sounds soo similar to Jonathan Groff's
They dated for a little bit

I got goose pimples listening to a few of those songs and their harmonies as a cast.
Sasha Allen is THE only Dionne I will ever love she’s INSANE!!!!!
yessss I wish we could've heard her speak here
Dang. I thought this was a film of the original cast recording. Still, it lives on.
I used to sing Frank Mills all the time
sasha allen my beloved
Wilbur and Bernard are the real stars here !!!!!
Ironic to see a Chik-Fil-A ad on a Hair video. I go to Chik-Fil-A every Sunday, rain or shine.
Great talent great voices, but still way to young. 74 hear I remember the original show. It is just not the same.
How old is the cast supposed to be?
cool
Intersting.
"I had the entire Andrew Lloyd Webber catalog" ... um, that's not gonna help your cred, sister, that's some low brow crap you're gushing about.
and do you know how many times that guy has been sued for plagiarism?!?

It is not "natural". Recording techniques have changed. Not bad - but not original.
