Last weekend I was up in Show Low, AZ for a Yoga Retreat through my church. As I drove up and back, there were acres of acres of red, yellow, purple and fushia flowers covering the high mountains. What was unique was that they were not mixed together. Each color had bloomed on it's own from the other colors. I live in Phoenix and Show Low is 3 hours away so you can imagine my surprise. Usually we drive south to Sedona and Flagstaff or East to Payson or the Mogollon Rim. I had never been to Show Low this time of year. It was breathtaking.
You and John are the highlight of my UA-cam world! Hopefully you continue these amazing side trips for a long time. Hope John is healing. Watch those pot hol😂s, too!

Tanya & I wanted to see the snow in Mammoth, but the US Masters Nationals Alpine races were canceled because of too much snow. So, we flew down to St. Petersburg, FL. Beach time was good, I thawed, and Tanya melted. Still have spring skiing here in CO high-country.

No. If we’re just driving through a patch of cold air, there is no need to winterize. Prolonged night time temperatures might warrant winterizing. We keep a thermometer under the van to give us a better indication of temperatures.

I saw that one video Foresty Forest did where he was off 395 and stuck with little Rocko in a blizzard. Did you see his new Pedego ebike? Hope you had a good plant sale, I love going to those things. Will look for a new video in a couple of weeks, have a good one!
I saw Foresty’s episode and glad he didn’t stay longer because it kept getting worse. Wish I could have shared some info with him before he made the bike purchase but he’ll figure it out.

The John Muir Trailhead sign reminds me of the time we walked through the Muir Woods National Monument in Marin County. As we were walking along the trail, we heard the distant sound of a flute. Soon the flute player and her accompanists appeared and they continued past us into the trees. I almost thought I detected a hint of MaryJane in the wind ……
You guys need to figure out a way to meet up with fellow UA-cam Rvers “Jimmy and Natalie”. They are just starting on their full-time RV adventures and share the same passions as you. Missing California. Have been out of state for over a year. Thanks for the vicarious fix on several of our favorite places along 395 and a couple new ones. We love Fossil Falls and stay there every chance we get. We struck out the last time we tried to stay in Alabama Hills too. Great that you found your first geocache. You just made me realize that this is our 20th anniversary of geocaching and we have found over 9,000 from the Arctic Circle in the Northwest Territory to the jungles of Brazil to the tip of Newfoundland. Curious, why’d you pick that geocache? They’ve been many of the places you’ve traveled. We’re debating heading to the world gathering of geocachers, Geowoodstock in Kentucky this month on our way to Canada. Stay tuned
I only thought of it that morning and since it was next to our campground figured it would be a good start. Planned to do more but got started on editing and that takes a big bite out of my time. Look forward to doing more. You’ve certainly had some adventurous locations.
Oh my goodness, you brought many wonderful memories back for me. Dad was high tower lineman and helped put the power lines up from LA to Nevada in 1970 so home base was Bishop and Lone Pine for several months. Loved rockhounding with my Dad as a young teen, wandering all through the hills. Loved seeing familiar places after being gone for so long. Thank you for sharing your trip!!! - Lynn
First of all, I can understand why you don’t have a video every week but I do miss them when they’re not there. My husband and I started Geocaching in 2011. We used to have a “normal“ trips and now we let the geocaches plot our paths. They have taken us to magical places. You also find incredible spots.

All but Tuttle Creek are pretty good. But if you want screaming fast, then continue on to the BLM campground at Crowley Lake. It was closed when we drove through on that trip.

Geeocaching is a wonderful way to see things that you may not normally see. When we are on the road I always have a few in our GPSs, normally pretty easy ones to find, and I try to make them interesting ones with scenic overlooks, or some historical site nearby. Plus, when you stop at a rest stop you can usually find one there too.

We were only out 4 nights/5 days so didn’t need to dump. But we could have at Tuttle creek as they opened it just before we left.

Missing California. Have been out of state for over a year. Thanks for the vicarious fix on several of our favorite places along 395 and a couple new ones. We love Fossil Falls and stay there every chance we get. We struck out the last time we tried to stay in Alabama Hills too. Great that you found your first geocache. You just made me realize that this is our 20th anniversary of geocaching and we have found over 9,000 from the Arctic Circle in the Northwest Territory to the jungles of Brazil to the tip of Newfoundland. Curious, why’d you pick that geocache? They’ve been many of the places you’ve traveled. We’re debating heading to the world gathering of geocachers, Geowoodstock in Kentucky this month on our way to Canada. Stay tuned
I only thought of it that morning and since it was next to our campground figured it would be a good start. Planned to do more but got started on editing and that takes a big bite out of my time. Look forward to doing more. You’ve certainly had some adventurous locations.
Oh my goodness, you brought many wonderful memories back for me. Dad was high tower lineman and helped put the power lines up from LA to Nevada in 1970 so home base was Bishop and Lone Pine for several months. Loved rockhounding with my Dad as a young teen, wandering all through the hills. Loved seeing familiar places after being gone for so long. Thank you for sharing your trip!!! - Lynn

First of all, I can understand why you don’t have a video every week but I do miss them when they’re not there. My husband and I started Geocaching in 2011. We used to have a “normal“ trips and now we let the geocaches plot our paths. They have taken us to magical places. You also find incredible spots.

Very few spots are open now. BLM has turned most spots into day use only.
Nice video Debbie! One of my favorite of your series. We are headed up 395 this week and am looking forward to some great scenery and possibly snagging a spot at one of those BLM sites. No reservations, just winging it and we wind up where we wind up.

All but Tuttle Creek are pretty good. But if you want screaming fast, then continue on to the BLM campground at Crowley Lake. It was closed when we drove through on that trip.

Geeocaching is a wonderful way to see things that you may not normally see. When we are on the road I always have a few in our GPSs, normally pretty easy ones to find, and I try to make them interesting ones with scenic overlooks, or some historical site nearby. Plus, when you stop at a rest stop you can usually find one there too.
