Cool little thing that I only really caught on a rewatch.. Ruth's consistently late on answering her phone whenever Lee calls her - she's in the basement.
7:42 -- Yes, it's so weird! It's like the entire movie is from another dimension or a nightmare, but that's part of what makes it great. We all love weird movies sometimes, right? Haha! I also adore the slow-paced dialogues and camera shots, reminiscent of 1970s and 1980s films. These kinds of movies let you think and appreciate the scenes and dialogues, much like Kubrick's work. Speaking of Kubrick, this movie clearly draws from many influences, with shots reminiscent of 'The Shining' and elements from the Zodiac Killer's infamous codes. I think Lee suffers not just from a bit of autism, but mostly from agoraphobia which is a fear of being around too many people. I also believe Longlegs is, in fact, a child in his mind, likely due to a traumatic childhood experience. When he says, "I wore my long legs today," I interpret it as him not seeing himself grow up, thinking only his legs grew. That's why he makes weird and childish statements like "the man downstairs." Or maybe he's just completely crazy, haha! Also, I believe he dreamed of being in a hard-rock band. There's an old black and white photo of him (when he read on his bed). The photo was taken when he was younger, in the basement, wearing a black hat. This movie was really something else, and I loved it just like you! It’s great, creative, intriguing, weird, and as a photographer, I adore the colors and the director of photography's work - I just subscribed to your channel because I appreciate that you stay true to yourself and don't overreact, and I really appreciate that as a viewer. I also noticed you love Pink Floyd, apparently. They've been my favorite band since I was a kid, thanks to my dad introducing me to their music. I've been fortunate enough to see them live at least five times.
According to Osgood Perkins, the devil is done with Lee. Satan's entire goal with her was to bring her to her lowest possible point--forced to commit matricide--and leave her to live in despair with her guilt. As for Ruby, what happens to her is intentionally left up in the air for the viewer to decide.
Honestly, both Nic Cage and Alicia Witt deserve Oscars for their roles in this film. Miaka deserves at least a nomination for playing a character on the spectrum.
I don't think the cycle was going to repeat itself as the family in the end was the final one to complete the triangle. The agent saving the daughter made it ultimately fail and since her mom shot her doll she should be free from it altogether. That's my take.
It is 24m bc Nic Cage actually sang HBD song for that long. Not a part of the script. There is also a song on YT by him that was in this movie. Sadly Nic won't be playing serial killer roles, because he said he doesn't like the roles of people hurting people.
@@77Creationjust finished watching blackcoats daughter again and it’s a bit slow compared to longlegs. It takes a while and that’s were I give longlegs the edge but BCD is great. I bought it on blue ray for a reason 😌
At first, I HATED and cringed at the part where he says Mommy, daddy, unmake me and save me from this hell of living - I hated it but now it is my favorite line from the whole movie. Maybe it's the way he says the line or maybe it's the meaning of the line. But I love it
🤔 At the end, Lee's mother said that the other mother was already dead.. but she is clearly alive.. Maybe she meant that her soul was already dead. It died when she became just another aspirational, cookie-cutter, suburban housewife 😳
I didn't particularly enjoy watching this movie. It just didn't seem to get to me in the way that it did a lot of people. I got what was so creepy about it, but it just wasn't on a frequency that bothered me or something. I LOVE watching people react to it though. He intimidates people so much sometimes that they look viscerally scared, not just startled. It's less of a "fuck, this movie is scary" look and more of a "please don't kill me" look. His lack of screentime makes his character ambiguous, so when he goes over the top it's just downright unsettling. It's bizarre behavior and you don't know exactly where it's coming from so it picks at that panicky fight or flight instinct we all have.
This is now my favorite film. I don't usually like paranormal horror, and was disappointed when I found out it wasn't based in reality like the trailers had made it out to be. But because it seemed so effing creepy, and all the positive reviews, I just HAD to see it. I'm so glad I did. My God, it's so well-crafted, perfectly creepy in every way. Makes my skin crawl. My only regret is NOT seeing it in theaters.
Really dig the ideas in this film. But the writing is a huge, huge let down. Still saw it twice in the theater though. And will own a copy at some point.
@@MegaReacts There are 15 or 16 shots and when i noticed them, it sended fucking shivers down my spine. I couldnt sleep that night LMAO....Havent felt this way since hereditary.
I am SO disappointed in this movie! Comparing it to Silence of Lambs, Seven and Zodiac is a f**king insult. I was so looking forward to Longlegs because of all the amazing marketing tricks. I'm not gonna make that mistake again. What a let down. The plot, omg...the plot! How convenient that the FBI call in a young agent and then it turns out that most of her life the serial killer has lived in the basement of her childhood home and that he has "employed" her mother to do his murderous deeds. It's absolutely ridiculous.
Tell me how you really feel. 🤣 The supernatural element makes it work for me in regards to how everything falls into place. Dark magics shaped the world.
The supernatural element makes it unique from other serial killer films and it worked so well. It’s strange, creepy, and fun. You’re just a hater who doesn’t get it.
Cool little thing that I only really caught on a rewatch.. Ruth's consistently late on answering her phone whenever Lee calls her - she's in the basement.
Yes. I realized that while watching the movie when it was revealed that Longlegs lived in the basement.
I watched it the second time last night and JUST NOTICED that too!

There she is! It's the almost birthday girl.
Honestly, both Nic Cage and Alicia Witt deserve Oscars for their roles in this film. Miaka deserves at least a nomination for playing a character on the spectrum.
She wasn't on the spectrum. She was in a state of hypnosis the whole time. We never properly met her.
Maika Monroe is the best actress in horror since The Guest and It Follows. She's in so many good horror movies. Kills it every time.
This dude already has another movie coming too. Can't wait. It's a Stephen King adaptation. The Monkey. Can't wait.
You: "SHOW ME"
Movie: "If you insist"
This movie was freaking awesome. This the 1st time i have watched anything from u and loved your reaction ❤
Yea longlegs is kinda silly looking but there are a few moments where he’s MALICIOUS in the interrogation scene and it’s terrifying
I don't think the cycle was going to repeat itself as the family in the end was the final one to complete the triangle. The agent saving the daughter made it ultimately fail and since her mom shot her doll she should be free from it altogether. That's my take.
Agree. And seeing that black cloud float away from her head after the doll was shot seemed to signify that the spell was broken.

"Show Me! Fuck"! Love it
16:50may be my favorite part of the entire film, and I freaking loved this film.
great reaction and stellar editing
Now time for The Blackcoats Daughter
Still Oz Perkin's best film so far, imho. He's a gifted director with great ideas. He should outsource the writing though.
@@77Creation yeah! Agreed! I love everything about this movie! Longlegs is great for me but The Blackcoats Daughter is perfect

When he said “show me!!” I was like bro just you wait a second ahahaha 🤣🤌🏽
Cool reaction man. This movie had me from the crouchdown. Loved seeing your reaction to that scene.

Just happy as peaches
Nick Cage its either in some super good movies or in some super bad ones.
Nice reaction! Loved the movie definitely a good time watching again with you looking forward to more reactions you definitely got my SuB!
Did you see this in the theatre first? That was a fun experience.
I did not. Sadly that is the downfall of being a reactor. I can't watch for the first time and react if I watch in a theatre first.
love your collection! its what i strive for! looove the skelettonsss

This title was misleading. I thought it was only going to be shots of long legs
The Silence of the Legs.

Maybe three. I need to rewatch...
