In China, we deal with poverty problem by helping poor people to upgrade their skillsets and find a way to make a living. China government invest in improving infrastructure of poor villages or sometimes even relocating the whole village to pull villagers out of extreme poverty.
In US, they deal with poverty by establishing food banks, giving out cash, which of course will solve the immediate needs, but they are not tackling the root cause of poverty. The poor people will still be unable to afford a house, a decent meal, and without a permenant address, it makes them more difficult to find a job, and this turns into a viscious cycle.

Drugs are the most effective and legal means for the American government to eliminate the poor. Although this process is very long and will sacrifice some environment, those who make policies live in villas and high-end apartments, so they don't have to worry about such a situation! I think the ultimate goal of the U.S. government is to turn the United States into a polarized and hierarchical society, just like India!

If you’re non-white you could be murdered by someone white in America and your murderer could be acquitted of all charges! As soon as I got on to UA-cam it immediately suggested two cases involving white cops murdering innocent minorities that posted no threat to the cops whatsoever, and in both cases, the white cops got away with the murders!
It is extremely dangerous for a non-white person to get into any kind of conflict with a white person since if the altercation turned deadly and you ended up being murdered the white murderer could get away with murdering you! The laws in this stupid country are so rotten and out of this world! Just look at that psychopathic murderer (Rittenhouse) getting away with murdering two innocent protestors and seriously wounding another! Everything is so racialized and politicized!
BTW, the judge in the Rittenhouse case is a right-wing extremist who withheld numerous evidence from the prosecutors in order to help that murderer from getting a guilty verdict. The judge helped the murderer because he is also a right-wing extremist like the judge himself and because the victims were all Democrats fighting for equal rights for minorities the judge did everything he could to make sure the murderer would be acquitted of his crimes! What’s more that judge also allowed that murderer to pick his own jurors for a case that he was being prosecuted for crimes that he has committed! Isn’t that outrageous? Is it a wonder he was found “innocent?” Proving again just how corrupt and twisted the American justice system is!
I guess that psychopath must not have murdered those two victims since the jurors said he is innocent of any wrongdoing as if the crimes that he has committed never happened!

While the thumbnails of both countries are extreme, it’s not that far from reality. Even if you compared a poorer area of a poorer Chinese city as Gweilo60 recently did to any equivalent US city you can see how far the US has fallen in terms of serving its people. The first glaring difference is how clean Chinese cities are, even in the poorer back streets. The provision of parks throughout the cities as well. Then the lack of rats and homeless also shows how much better China is doing. China does still have areas that it needs to improve upon, such as clean drinking water from the tap needs to be universal. Though overall I would not say that the USA has the lead in any category except the negative ones.

It’s common and a result of the US governments war on drugs and simultaneously flooding those same areas with drugs by the CIA to fund illegal wars overseas.
Even if you eliminate the drugs and homeless, the USA still doesn’t fair well. Look at the decrepit state of most US cities, and the boarded up stores that litter US cities. I haven’t seen such issues in any videos about China.

For obvious reasons, I rarely go to that neighbourhood, but I pass by sometimes, and in the two decades I've lived in this city, that area hasn't improved at all. It's honestly tragic how the local government just let those people waste away on the streets without any real effort to improve their standard of living. This is why every time some politician in the west goes on a virtue signal spiel about "human right issues" in China, I just roll my eyes. Where are the rights of these people living on the streets? Where's their right as a human to live like a human? What use do they have of some vague concept of "freedom" when they don't even have hope?

If not because of the pandemic, I would have retired and living in Guiyang right now. I grew up around Philadelphia, I know the Kensington neighborhood all too well. I learned from an early age that poverty in the U.S. is largely ignored by the government and people who have the power and ability to do something about it. I now live in a town in Maryland where there are million dollar houses just a couple blocks away from homeless camps. We have 3 homeless shelters in the downtown area, and they are always filled to capacity. Long lines every day at the food bank. And the city's way of treating homelessness is not to invest in housing programs, but to put metal bars on benches in the park so people can't sleep on them. While China is alleviating poverty, the U.S. is making it worse.

On the contrary, I think the value system has been poisoned and degraded in the past decades in USA. American people don't seem to value hard-work any more. Instead, they are more into political correctness which divides people cross the board. They don't value fair competition any more, instead they want the equality of the result no matter what. Any nation that spend too much efforts focusing on the politics will definitely go down, because that's an endless spinning cycle. China learnt that bloody lesson from the period between 1950-1979 and they turned around, and that's why they started to take off and make achievement. I'm an chinese.Just 14 this year(so i just talk what i see).I profountly realize that China is a great country. Not no basis,It is from many ways. There are many things from China better than America.
From my life with China. These don't exist.China's street hygiene has do great.Walk by the street,Can't see a lot of rubbish, but it's just in a small town. In a real big city, it is spotless. Of course, I believe the same is true in big cities in the United States, but the hygiene of our small towns is really good. And the crime rate in the Chinese people is relatively low, and people are very civilized. You don't have to worry about any crime in your life.People get along more harmoniously.
The people's life is also very good.Basically, there are no poor people. Anyone can live a good life.As long as you are willing to work hard, you will definitely get food. Of course, the premise is that you must first work hard to get into school and get a degree. But even if you hava no degree,You can also live a good life. Therefore, in China, students study very hard, and adults work hard to support students to study so that their children can live well. But the level of education and technology in the United States is beyond our reach. So I think America is still very good. Hope one day I can go to America to see it.

I told him that those looks bad and he's welcome to pick as many as he wants from my free. Sadly that's all that I could offer him. I'm unemployed at the moment. I lived in California for 7 years and I can confirm that the poor people in America are destitute.
Rich people do not care much, because they live in nice neighborhoods where poor people is seldom visible.
And when they see them, it is only for a moment.
However, the rich Chinese do not seem to be better. Many wealthy Chinese come to live in California once they made it big in China and they do not care for the poor either.
The difference in standard of living of the population as a whole appears to be a government mindset. The Chinese government in general does something for all the Chinese, whereas in America politicians are more preoccupied with helping big corporations.

The most interesting thing was when he used the time shift feature to view the same streets, starting from 2008 till 2018, you can see the tents start popping up like mushrooms along the streets over the years. You could see the sharpest increase in tents in 2009, which corresponds with the aftermath of the GFC brought on by the mortgage subprime crisis. The history was very telling.

I'm an overseas Chinese in Canada, and I can safely say that most of the biggest cities in North America have a couple of blocks where the homeless and addicts camp out, including my own city. But this, is on a different level... Contrary to belief many people would think that us Chinese would be mocking and laughing at the US now, just like how the West has been every time something bad happens in China. But we just believe and sincerely hope that all humans, regardless of race, class, etc. should have access to basic rights, and lead a peaceful life. I had the same comment as you do, that these people are homeless, jobless, and the government is not doing anything.
But when I read the comments from obviously people living in the Philly, they say that those "zombies" are reluctant to go to government shelters because they want the freedom to take heroine, Fentanyl, plug needles whenever they want or need.
Also, people refused to work because the government has been giving out money since the pandemic and there's lititle incentive to work.
Philly used to be an industrial town and have been facing the problem of de-industrialization for decades and it's not that easy to find a job, especially for blue collar workers.

Omg it's hard watching the philadelphia video. It's terrible, why do they spend so much on weapons they think they need instead of on their own people.

One of my son’s good friends whose dad was assigned to Australia a few years ago said his parents have decided to apply for permanent residency now. I talked to the Mum when they just came to Australia and she said she was constantly worried about her son’s safety whenever he went to school in Colorado. They are real Americans and that was how they felt and let alone immigrants.

I am sorry to tell real Americans are almost all killed by immigrants long ago.
And now the people can not be called real Americans
      For example,
      Donald Trump is German.
Joe Biden is of Irish, English, and French.
Bill Gate is of English, German, and Irish/Scots-Irish

Drugs are the most effective and legal means for the American government to eliminate the poor. Although this process is very long and will sacrifice some environment, those who make policies live in villas and high-end apartments, so they don't have to worry about such a situation! I think the ultimate goal of the U.S. government is to turn the United States into a polarized and hierarchical society, just like India!
