Another film where the powers that be decide "Hey, its a sequel lets give it the EXACT same name as the original! No one will think its a reboot, remake, or anything else. NOt confusing at all. People will understand its a sequel. No big deal." There should seriously be a law against this. Now IF this franchise is ever remade there will most likely be a third "Scream". right?
If you watched the movie, you’ll get why they did that. It’s meta, just like Stab 8 is called Stab. So in a way, by calling this one Scream instead of Scream 5, they are making fun of movies who do the exact same thing. It’s so clever!
This film opened my eyes to the fact that I am an adult, and it’s time to put away childish things. These films entertain young adults, but not grown adults. So, the critique here is not rooted in that of “toxic fandom”. It’s actually just the positive consequence of adulthood.
I was able to see an early screening and Dewey and Gale ended up getting divorced. So sad to see Sid get killed but at least her death wasn't in vain. I'm still in shock that Dewey was the killer totally was not expecting that. Great movie 9/10.
