You can totally freeze the milk! Just let it thaw completely and shake well before using. 🥰
Great tip! That is great to know.
exatly what I was going to say. I use to do that when my children were young. As a single parent I would always buy enough for the month so we never ran out. That wass many years ago.
Im watching all rhe Ads so you get a bit of $$$$. I hope by liking and sharing you get picked up faster. Keep making your videos sweet girl. ❤
Thank you!!! I love my followers, you all know how to support a girl and make her smile.
You can freeze milk and then use later.
Thank you
I'm so happy that you and your family were blessed with so much. I know you will make good use of it.
Thank you, I love the encouragement that you all give me and my family!!!
I freeze milk all the time.
Thank you, that's nice to know. If I have the freezer space I might try freezing some.
you can freeze that milk too been doing it sense I first married some 57 years ago.
Thank you, that is great to know!!!
Yes you can freeze sweets just as they are.
Thank you
freeze the milk.
Thank you
And you think about it if you would’ve been at the back of the line, you probably wouldn’t of got that happy birthday cookie cake for your daughter, so everything works out when it supposed to❤
Yes you are so correct, It was meant for my daughter to get. Thank you
Pomegranates are the bomb! We love them.
Freeze the milk that way you don’t risk the milk . Then you can do a lot of research on canning it . What a great haul !!! You could make soup and can it ! Squash soup is yummy !!!! You could sauté your onions and can them too . Make French onion soup and can it too !!! So many things to do !!! God bless !
Yes, I have plenty of options on what to use them for and plenty of preserving to get done. It was lots of great items that I will not allow to go to waste.
Great haul, those cupcakes look amazing! Thanks for sharing with us and may God continue to bless you and your precious family today tomorrow and 4ever 🥀
Thank you
Make Shepherd's Pie with the butternut squash instead of potatoes.
ohhh, I have never thought about that!!! Thank you I will now have to give that a try
Wow Amber! Sometimes it pays to be late. You hit the the jackpot with this food bank haul. Lots of great looking vegetables and shelf stable food. I have refroze bread and sweets before, they were great. If you can the milk, please make a video. Thanks for sharing
Hi!! Thank you and yes WOW!!! It defines paid off that’s for sure. I will do a video of the milk if I do can it!!!
Thanks for sharing your great haul! Yes you can throw those baked items in the freezer. They taste just as good as if you just bought them when thawed out.
Thank you, That is exactly what I am going to be doing with them!!!
I've read that unopened milk is still good two weeks after the date stamped on it and tried if and yep! It was good and I used it within the week. Very cool. I really don't worry much about dates anymore. I also used Bar-B-Q sauce 2 years past the date. Perfect. I read THAT can go 3 years past the date. Use within 2 months when opened. Good to know! NICE haul there!!
Yes rule of thumb for canned goods is that it can go three years past the date. As well I have had yogurt that is 2 months back and it's always fresh and edible
Thank you!!! That is all very useful information to know. I did know about the canned goods but always been very cautious with the dairy products. Thank you again!!
Hey Amber!
Hi!!
Oh my gosh......love the birthday cookie and cupcakes
Thank you, I am using those this week for my daughters birthday!!
100% you can freeze the desserts. And just take them out the morning of, they do not take long to thaw.
Yay, that's awesome I was wondering how long they may take to thaw out. Thank you.
What a great haul. Those bakery items are perfect for your daughter's birthday! Freeze them.
Thank you, and yes I am freezing them for her birthday!!!
Holy veggie’s!!! Those tomatoes 😮❤this was amazing haul!!🎉🎉 Friend you are lucky, that’s some blessings there!
Yes!!! It was an amazing haul. Those tomatoes had very few blemishes on them. Thank you.
Great haul. If you want t o can cranberry juice, without sugar, you have to can the cranberries whole.😊
That's perfect, thank you!!! So I can just put the cranberries in the jars fill with water and process in a water bath canner!!! Easy peasy!!!
That’s very smart to put the rice in the freezer thank you for informing us about that practice. My rice bag had little bugs in it I had to toss it.
You are very welcome, and yes any grain product, flour, rice, grits any of them. if you place them in the freezer for at least 24 hours it will kill off any eggs in them.
Weavels. They get in dried produts. I keep mine in the fridge so it doesn't happen
You want to cut into a pomegranate that is firm. That ensures that the seeds are not too soft. It is rare that you have to let a pomegranate ripen on the counter. They are always ready to eat.
Ok, I didn't know that, so these I need to cut open pretty soon then as they are already getting soft. Thank you
@@MamaToAll_Homestead yes, they are a labor of love to separate all the seeds from the fruit but it is so worth it. They are delicious. My grandparents in Greece had a pomegranate tree right by their house. Every summer we would eat as many as we could... lol... I just love eating them by the spoonful but they are delicious also in yogurt.
If you buy yhe smallest pot of live plain yoghurt you can find, use it as a starter and make yoghurt with some of the milk. Thet will give you a couple of extra weeks life. Milk freezes well too, if you have the freezer space
Thank you, I have never made my own youghurt.... I might have to give that a try!!!
@MamaToAll_Homestead it's very easy, just wrap it up in a load of towels to keep the warmth in while it incubated. If you have an instant pot, or can borrow one, they have a yoghurt setting that works brilliantly. You can keep a cup of your home made yoghurt to start the next batch. You can also strain the yoghurt through a cloth and mix in a bit of salt and any spices or herbs you fancy, to make labneh soft cheese.
Hey Amber! I just canned cranberry juice without sugar. It's easy to do.
Hi!!! Yes after looking it up It is so super simple so I too canned up some cranberry juice with no sugar which means it will be low carb as cranberries are naturally low carb!!!
That's a great haul Amber! I hope you have a great week.
Thank you, I hope you have a great week as well.
I would refreeze the cookie and cupcakes etc and never think another thing about it.
I agree.
Thank you, That is exactly what I am going to do because they will come in handy for my daughters birthday!!
Nothing wrong with canning milk. It's good for cooking with.
That is exactly what I am wanting to do with this milk. Can it up and have it available for cooking with.
Freeze the milk
Wow 2 videos in a day . Great job .
Thank you
amazing haul
Thank you
Hi again.🌷 How lucky you were with this food bank haul.🙃 I'm so happy for you. 🥰It might be wrong to ask this, but is it something that is never handed out from the food bank?🌺 I don't know if I've seen if you've had coffee,☕ for example. Have a great weekend with good food🍳🍗🌮 and much needed rest. Birgitta🥰🌲🌲🌲
It does appear to not be a very popular item that people receive in food banks. I think I've only seen one or two people actually get a bag of coffee.
Hi, thank you and yes there are some items that in my area we vary rarely receive and coffee is one item. Also in my area We vary rarely receive milk, butter, flour, sugar. Thank you again.
Hey cutie ❤❤
I received the cookie cake at a food giveaway, that's exactly what I did, froze it for a short time , it was fine
Thank you, that is awesome to know. I am freezing it for my daughters birthday
U got some good stuff
Thank you and yes I did get some great stuff
Cole slaw on bbq pork or chicken yummy
yummy thank you
I would rather going real early so that I 'm first. I don't want to wait behind people that don't pay attention and are interested in your business. As they say "the early bird catches the worm".
Yes I typically like to go really early so that I can get through the line, I'm not a very social person in real life. My husband says that I talk more on my youtube videos than I do in real life.
I do food bank hauls every week
That's awesome, the food bank is a blessing for my family as I am sure it is for you as well.
Hi friend 😊
Hi!!!
Hello..subscribed
Hi!!! Thank you for subbing! So happy to have you join.
Side note: Love your T-shirt, Savannah is my favorite US city, and love visiting whenever we can!! I’m confused about why canning milk is “going rogue” I mean, condensed milk and evaporated milk are canned…shelf stable regular milk exists (I don’t know how they do that, but they do.) Would love to see the video on it! I really wish companies would start making things like Cole slaw with a Splenda/Stevia/Equal whatever sweetener as an option. If it weren’t for the sugar in the dressing, that would be almost no carbs at all. (I like the vinaigrette Cole slaw more myself.) Those gold potatoes will make amazing mashed potatoes (and the organic will taste better, usually) yummmm. I’ve seen a video on how to get the pomegranate to sort of fall apart and be really juicy…so look for one, there’s an easy technique. If you have old panty hose or tights, take those onions, drop in hose leg, tie a knot, and repeat, hang them up somewhere dark and cool and dry…and those will last for months and months. This haul is so amazing!!! It might be worth taking the afternoon off on an occasional Friday! That would be hundreds of dollars at the store!! (But I totally understand that that’s not always feasible!!) NOTE: I checked the tea out, it has zero carbs, no sugar added, so you’re good! Enjoy!
Can I just say that you are the best!!! Thank you for looking up the Tea for me.... And yes I do agree, why can't they make it with a sugar alternative or no sugar at all. When I make my cole slaw at home I don't use any sweetener in it at all and it's perfect. Those potatoes will make some amazing mashed potatoes. Might have to sneak a small bite... lol Yes I am going to sort through the onions and get them hung up so that they will last a while. Thank you for being so informative!!! Again you're the best.
@@MamaToAll_Homestead That’s so nice of you!!! Thank you!!!! You give so many great tips and are so open and supportive of people who (like me) have gotten into hard times occasionally…and had no idea this was available!!! Food banks would have been a godsend 4 years ago for us, but instead, we scrimped, had no Christmas, ate poorly from cheap stuff we could afford, and were scared all the time. I had food scarcity for a short period in college, and it messed with my head about having food available. It really is a frightening thing to not know where your next meal is coming from. Also, you give such great help about storing, how to use something in a meal (never would have thought of turning taquitos into enchiladas!) and what to do with something like a green pepper with a funny spot on it (like cut that off and the rest should be okay, slice them and freeze them.) There are so many people out there like you and me, who work hard (or like me, worked hard, medical crisis, had to medically retire…I have a great retirement plan, but it’s definitely not what we were making) and then life throws fun things at you: fridge dies, basement sewer pipe backs up, car dies…all of a sudden you have a new bill, you’ve used all of your savings for just keeping a roof over your head…and now you’re scared and don’t know how you’re going to pay for things. You have a nice house, decent vehicles, nice clothes and appliances…all from before…I can’t go buy those things now! But, that doesn’t also mean we don’t struggle to make ends meet. You don’t have to be ragged and homeless to need help, and there’s nothing wrong with asking for it (I’m a prideful person, it’s hard to ask, but your message has helped me to see that I have nothing to be ashamed of to ask for help. I didn’t do this to myself, it all just happened out of my control. Welcome to life!) So, your channel is a great service that you do that helps so many…you have taught me so much about saving food, storing it, and that food banks are just THERE, they exist for everyone…I wish I’d known that four years ago. If things get any tighter here, I know I can go and get food and help us make it. That is such a stress reliever, you have no idea. So, there’s probably lots of people just like me who watch and may not leave a comment…and your great attitude and explanation just saved that person. Keep up your awesome work, and I’ll continue to cheer you on. (P.S., so glad you got monetized!!!)
Are you truly suggesting that someone take time off from WORK to go to a food bank and take advantage of a program meant for people that are living hand to mouth? Trying to make yourself a hero for taking free food meant for the TRULY needy “because it would be wasted if you don’t” is a clearly self justification for what is basically stealing. Not sure who raised you, or all the people applauding your greed, but it’s shocking to me.
@@kimredmond3550 You just talked bad about my Momma. Who raised you? Why don’t you take your judgment of other people somewhere where people want to listen to it…or maybe spend your time trying to help others in need, cause putting people down, and insulting how their Momma raised them is a waste of my time and yours.
@@mollymollie6048 Darling Molly, Are you the kiddo that loves the taco bell ranch tacos? I wish you a life filled with the happy satisfaction that comes with working hard, and knowing that you can take care of yourself and your family without taking the food from the mouths of people that are truly without means. The time spent making haul vlogs and sitting in cars waiting for handouts, could be spent working another job to support the family. Taking when your pantry is full is greedy and in fact, doesn’t encourage people to donate, it make them feel used to see people that appear to be taking advantage of their generosity. You’re going to ruin it for those that are going to bed cold and hungry. It’s a shame your Momma isn’t raising you to know that. Not cool.
What do u do with all the onions to use them before they go bad ??.
honestly, they last for quite a while when stored somewhere cool and dark. If they appear to start going soft then I will dice, chop into strips and freeze them for cooking.
You can make caramelized onions and can them! They are delicious on hamburgers!
great. now i am hungry again.😒
Oh no
How does that line work? Are you in your car waistline gas the whole two hours?
I am in my car but I am not wasting gas as I turn off my vehicle, I do not leave it running, most of us don't. If it is going to be cold then I make sure to dress appropriately.
'Natural flavors' is unfortunately anything but sadly.
You are correct.
Are you a diabetic because you keep mentioning carbs.
I am so happy that people in nice houses with big kitchens get to go pick up donated food like their living on the streets....what a country....oh and they all can afford to have numerous pets.....
Wow just wow
Have you ever thought about how life can change?
Hey, so just as some of my amazing followers have said.... wow and have you ever thought about how life can change. You never know when you may find yourself in need of a hand up and I surely hope that you never encounter someone as yourself. Saying the things you said can discourage someone to not go and get the help that they may need. You won't affect me though. Just think before you speak. You don't know me or my financial situation. I am trying to break the stigma surrounding food banks. Yes people with nice big kitchens and multiple animals can go receive food from local food banks right along side those that may be homeless. It's not our job to discriminate based off of what one may have. Just because they have a place to live doesn't mean they are well off.
@leelaural people can lose jobs, prices go up on gas and groceries or medical issues and need money to see doctors, these are just a few problems that might affect our middle class who don’t qualify for help like food stamps cause they chose to stay in their home, car etc and pay it but need a little help with the crazy prices at the grocery store as we all deserve to eat and to eat as healthy as possible, and lastly when is the last time you saw a homeless person standing in a food bank line? Honestly think about it, most the food they have no where to keep it cold and safe like a freezer or fridge, they have no way to cook it like a oven, so they basically need ready to go stuff and at a food bank you can’t be choosy, but yes the homeless can go to one just like your middle class trying to hold on to things they worked there whole life for, why don’t you try to be kind and maybe even with all that time volunteer to food bank then you’ll get it! I am proud of Amber, it takes a lot to set all our proud aside and go to a food bank knowing you need the help and being ashamed to ask (at least in my experience I was ashamed I had to go and ask) but they immediately told me I was worthy of the food and made me feel welcome and not bad at all! So think before you speak 💯
Homeless people usually don't have a place to cook the food
Freeze the milk
Thank you, if I had the space in my freezer I would definitely freeze it however I ended up canning it!!!
