This was the 20 years celebration of Sabaton. They brought ALL former bandmembers and filled BOTH scenes, a double act. So 2 drummers etc. So you actually had Thobbe( Thobias) up there on one of the scenes. Joakim was originally the keyboard player. He only agreed to stand in as singer until they found anyone good.... He still plays keyboard now and then as well as being 3rd guitarist on some songs. Tommy once hsnded him a Hello Kitty guitar to play on their concert from Denver. The boys love to prank each other. Go The Distance from Hercules. My fav Disneyton is 7 Pillars of Wisdom to the song Prince Ali of Aladdin.
Wacken usually holds 80K people, so this crowd is pretty much the same size as for 2013 Nightwish show. The biggest crowd for Sabaton was 2012 Woodstock Poland festival, around 600K people. On Wacken 2019 Sabaton celebrated 20 years and they had current line up on 1 stage and the old one on another with Joakim and Pär going back and forth between the 2 stages. That drummer is Daniel Mullback, the original drummer. Tommy's Disneyton is both hilarious and mind blowing, the way he managed to mash up songs that don't seem to go together at all and make it sound amazing- incredible
I saw an intervju with Tina before this event where she said she was rehearsing with the band online but that she would meet them IRL for rhe first time at Wacken. So thia was the first thing she did with Sabaton, I don't know her metal history apart from what she's done with Sabaton after this like in 1916 and Steel commanders.
For an instrumental shredding one .. please ( please) Tommy’s cover of Tony McAlpines Houndreds of Tousands .. the first of his covers on YY ( they started because he was home sick in Covid and had lost his voice but was bored. .. and Sabaton last stand and seven pillars of wisdom
I have two recommendations for Sabaton tracks. The first one is not amongst the usual selections: "The End Of The War To End All Wars". The second is a bit older, and much darker than what you might have heard thus far; "Stalingrad".
