      Good idea! By cornering lights, do you mean side markers? I would think you would wire the switch the same; I thought the side markers jumped off the park light and / or turn signal light wires.

      No , some of these old Chyslers Hava a clear light and a blinker light and a marker light, I can get everything else working except the corner ing lights, they come on when you turn on the blinker, they light up the road like a head light off to the side, I can't even find one at the junk Yard that works, so I am going your way, but I need to figure out how to make the corning lights come on also, thank you very much for getting back with me

      @@michelsmith5610 gotcha! I’m unfamiliar with those, and I’m scratching my head on how to wire them right now. You could tie them in with a blinker, but that would make them flash… so that’s not good. I’m guessing it’s a special switch integrated with the factory turn signal switch to power the cornering lights as the turn signal is selected. I cannot think of how to make one of these switches do that, but I’m hoping another viewer will chime in?

    Thanks for the help. I hooked the signal the way you show. Tried the switch but noticed the flasher was not putting out power after turning on. I did have a 20 amp fuse on the line. That probably blew the flasher. Can't figure why the blown Flasher. I changed the fuse to a 10amp but hate to try another flasher. I checked the flasher and it did have out put before turning on the signal. None after.

    Can the Universal Turn Signal Switch handle the full amperage of the front, rear and side turn signals (about 15 amp)? Or is it necessary to use 4-pin Bosch type relays? And in your case, what is the maximum amperage it supports?

    • @BadHombreGarage
      @BadHombreGarage  Рік тому +1

      I’ve thought about this a couple of days, so here’s what I think. It could be the wrong flasher; they make a 3 prong flasher for LED lights. It could be that the turn signal switch itself is defective, causing your issues. Or, it could be a bad ground somewhere. I’d make sure everything was grounded well, including the steering column as this is where the switch gets its ground. If I recall, I think the LED specific flasher might even have it’s own ground. Those are my thoughts, hopefully someone else will chime in. Let us know what you find.

    I am installing one of these in a 1922 chevy. All of my lighting is LED 6V and everything is working except the brake lights. My question is: Should the red wire to the brake switch be carrying current?
    Mine is not. If the red wire should not show a voltage and the brake switch is just a path to ground through the turn signal switch , should the power be somehow supplied by the left and right turn wires. I tried this. Did not work either. I'm, frustrated..

    • @BadHombreGarage

      If your wiring is set up like mine, the red brake light wire is hot and goes from the power source to the brake light switch, then to the turn signal switch.

    Hi Bad hombre. I installed this as directed, and everything works as it should however, in the neutral position on the lever, the flasher unit is still clicking, and the red light on the lever is blinking and no lights are flashing. • @kramerflamer
      @kramerflamer 10 місяців тому +1

      Keep in mind...the two prong flashers can be used if a separate 4 or 5 pin relay switch were to be used. You would simply wire the 2-prong flasher to pin 30 of the relay. This allows flashing for both the turn signal or hazard. If you're using the Conmutador Universeral Turn Signal Switch as shown in this video, it already has a relay switches built in for feeding the left and right turn signals and the hazards (not clearly explained in the mfg. instructions). That's why he's suggesting a 3-prong flasher. The built-in relay switches of the universal turn signal switch will feed power through the blue wire to the P terminal activating the flasher to work. This allows power to flow from terminal "K" and out through the terminal "L" out to your signals or hazards if it's being used. A 2-prong can be used, but it will take some experimentation on your and figuring out your own wiring diagram to make it happen.
