it's slowly dying sadly, hey is a big arcade just down the road from akihabara station, arcades in more rural and lower key areas have been dropping like flies
I was in Tokyo for the first time a few months ago and I was able to visit this arcade. Played a lot of machines I thought I would never get to see. Thank you so much for sharing this video, it brings back great memories!
I have my own Arcade game shop in India and I am running all tekken series, Cadillacs and dianasauras , snow bros , WrestleMania, Mk triology sega , Ultimate mk 3 , Undercover cops , Final fight and Super contra
I really enjoyed this. Would love to go there. If I was a millionaire I'd buy a huge place where I could also buy a ton of Japanese arcade cabinets and just have them to myself like a selfish hoarder! I'd love it
I've watched this video a lot of times. Finally got to see this place in person a month ago and it was worth the wait. This and the 6th floor of GIGO Tower 3 (Retro G) were my favorite arcades in Akihabara.
Came back almost 2 weeks ago from my trip to Tokyo, and this video just reminds me of that amazing Arcade that had all those old school games in there. Love to see it again.
wow! so many great classics in the arcade, almost anything you could ask for... fighting, shoot-em-ups, racing games! what a cool game center. shout-out to seeing RAIDEN one of my favorite arcade shooters.
I went to this arcade when I was in a Tokyo. It had the most retro machines by far. Shmup heaven! I never thought I'd actually get play Gradius in an actual arcade. Arcades are small and usually in a bowling alley or bar in the US.
To me, this seems like heaven on Earth. There was a place like this when I was a child. Japan is one country I haven't been too as well, but if I did - I would definitely visit here.
Japan also has Tower Records. I know that Japanese ppl treat things with great care, but they also have a strong attachment to culture and a strong sense of preservation. The idea that everything can be reformed makes the culture of a country frivolous. This is extremely important.
This is awesome, love arcades. if I was rich and owned a mansion; would definitely set this up in my basement or large room. Yeah it is sad to see arcades dying everywhere because now... you can play all these game for free online or through emulation/hyper spin! Anyways thank you to the uploader for the neat video in Japan!
yeah I know. also Santa Monica had a big arcade on the pier... but the majority of the machines dont work or Out of Service! Arcades are basically dead and nonexistent now in USA! guess too many people playing emulation!
Thanks for the video :) Interesting to see how arcade culture of Japan looks as opposed to other places. I went to EVO, and then to various arcade-like places in Las Vegas and... yea, they were messy, noisy, "sassy" if you catch my drift. Japan's arcade looks clean. Way too clean, even. Not better or worse, just is. Thanks again for the video!
When you see great arcade centers like this. it brings back the best and worst memories of our youth. Let's be honest here, it's not just the happy experiences we had with our parents and friends while playing our favorite games. Sometimes we also witness the meanest and brutal fist fights inside those facilities. The nostalgia is why I sometimes tear up when I get to see clips like this. Sadly these can no longer sustain the funds needed to operate. It's not a lucrative business anymore.
Yo creo que todos los juegos que vemos en esté vídeo son Japoneses, en Japón los LIDERES en Juegos Arcade - estaría como en mi infancia jugando allí mi mamá me tendría que ir a buscar de una oreja como lo hacía como cuando era niño
Back when I travelled to Tokyo with a few friends, we landed on this arcade with a smoking area in the lower floor. It had a unintentional retro, cyber-punk vibe and ofc, it smelt like sh*t. Some really cool moments in that country.
I'm glad to see that arcade culture is still alive in Japan

Yeah, better go while they last.

sadly. in the west, arcades are considered a thing of the past
This is how arcades should've evolved worldwide.
It's like a modern museum...
Got to be here in April of 2023 and had an amazing time. 1:12 all of those sf4 cabs were FULL on that Friday night. Felt like the good old days
Glad you enjoyed this actual place.

Wow, that's awesome👍
What is the company that you bought your arcade cabinets from?
I really enjoyed this. Would love to go there. If I was a millionaire I'd buy a huge place where I could also buy a ton of Japanese arcade cabinets and just have them to myself like a selfish hoarder! I'd love it

This is heaven
In the United States there are thousands of arcade rooms, the difference is that most of them are retro.
That's Arcade centers is another world... It's a dream for me.
RESPECT . THANK YOU FOR JAPAN .
Thanks👍
Gaming heaven. I need to visit Japan.
OMG, Virtua Fighter 2 is still there. I was playing the games there 4 years ago!
Came back almost 2 weeks ago from my trip to Tokyo, and this video just reminds me of that amazing Arcade that had all those old school games in there. Love to see it again.
Oh yea i remember dropping a coin in the game you see at 10:51, it was fun to play cuz of all the different powerups and shooting beams!
Thanks and glad you have experienced such a fun time here.
Once upon a time, here in italy too we had some beautiful Arcade rooms...
Oh really, i didn't know but that also would be awesome place.

이태리에 아케이드라니 궁금하네요~
Man I love those Taito Vewlix cabs, I own one myself. I imported it and then stripped it and added a PC, EMUS etc the works.
It's so quiet but late 90,s arcade used to crowded
mostly because there are too many entertainment alternatives..
idk when this was filmed but i stayed in tokyo for a while and HEY definitely gets a good amount of patrons every night
I am so glad I’m ready to go to Japan
wow! so many great classics in the arcade, almost anything you could ask for... fighting, shoot-em-ups, racing games! what a cool game center. shout-out to seeing RAIDEN one of my favorite arcade shooters.
Thank you for your comment. Yes, they have a wide selection of retro arcades. Please come prepared with lots of coins!
@@japanpov Hello, How much does it cost to play the games, on the average? Since they are retro arcade, are the prices retro as well? lol! Salute!
@neogeomaster3027 oh yeah I believe it about the name-brand chains, wouldn't be surprised if they charged more.
@neogeomaster3027 oh wow. thanks for the insight!
@neogeomaster3027 that's crazy... they really trying to get those tourist's money by jacking up the prices lol
Reminds me of the Galloping Ghost Arcade in Brookfield, IL.
A virtual museum of games. 🕹️
This place is paradise
Cool .......... I hope visit japan
Always we're welcome👍

Love how the Japanese keep arcade culture alive.
I often visit this arcade on Fridays. This is truly a legendary arcade, especially if you are a Japanese retro gamer.
I wish I want to go there and play Gundam Extreme VS 2 Arcade.
From Indonesia... Good Gundam Player...
I used to go to this place every week. Thank you for introducing Akihabara!

Los Angeles once had giant SEGA arcades. They are no more, but great memories.
yeah I know. also Santa Monica had a big arcade on the pier... but the majority of the machines dont work or Out of Service! Arcades are basically dead and nonexistent now in USA! guess too many people playing emulation!
Love Hey spent a lot of time in there, can you do a tour of Mikado that was my favourite arcade in toyko.
I filmed the place by chance, please wait a while for the upload.
How can a place like this be so damn clean
Of course japan will have the best arcades
📛iNCREIBLE que siga el arcade en JAPON que envidia sana ,aki en España los sacaron todos una verdadera lastima
Thanks for the video :)

Looks awesome !
My fav arcade! HEY!
This is my idea of heaven
As a gamer, I really want to go to this country, the bad thing is that I'm from Brazil but one day I'll go to gaming paradise
I love seeing this and hope to go to a Japanese arcade myself someday. However, as a loner myself it's kinda sad to see everyone playing alone :(
Dream to visit Japan
America has Casino machines, Japan has Arcade machines.
Speaks volumes doesn’t it? 😅
5:17 you can practice in the arcades now?? I remember this being a thing back in Soul Calibur 2, but I had never seen it since

日本のゲームセンター(Arcade Games)は減少しています。秋葉原のような古いゲームがある場所はとても貴重です。ありがとうございます。
ありがとうございますm(_ _)m
Crazy taxi that's what I'm talking about
I wonder how many watts are pulled, to have all those cabs running at once!
Is that a special version of Darius 2 on 2 wide screen monitors instead of 3 CRTs? 9:24
Surprised they're still using alot of CRT TVs, must be a nightmare to maintain those.
Actually they are low maintenance, they could go on for decades, LCD ones are more fragile.
Man I wish we had arcades were I am all we got is pizza ranch
We still got KOF 95, SS II, and AOF 2 arcade machines in malls.
Will there be Final Fight, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and WWF WRESTLEFEST in the future?
11:10 OK, I'll be in this corner here the whole night
That's a lot of fighting games
The heaven
Really wreck it ralph 3 should happen at a tokyo arcade
I’m a big fan of Initial D, do you know where I can find an arcade in Japan with the game machine still?
Many of these games i playing in my cell too
Great, you're literally arcade gamer!

It's sad because the recent anti-smoking laws definitely put a dent in the already shrinking customer base.
In Japan, Guilty Gear is their first choice
either that or street fighter
i wonder why japan has so many arcade games that doesnt get released worldwide, like they nly have the japanese version of it.
They sure love their fighting games. Thank god otherwise there would be no tekken.
Heaven! LOL
Look at all that Taito Egret
thst electric bill must be SKY HIGH
No sports game? like virtual striker?
Which game is the one in 5:45
