This beautiful video brings out pleasant memories about these songs which I have not heard for a long time. And also I was amused and was saying to myself " oh. This beautiful song is in Kalyani". I greatly enjoyed ram's voice, dr. Vijay's flute and dr. Una's voice. Waiting for more ragas to come

Very nicely done! Very interesting concept too. Thanks. I remember from an interview by KVM, maama always tuned to the lyrics, as a policy - MSV seems to have done both ways. VizhihaL meeno mozhihaL theno, nathiyil aadum poovanam and manjaL veyil maalaiyitta are some of very underrated songs in this category I think - but as you said it is not practical to mention/discuss all songs. Thanks again and looking forward to more such discussions.

Kalyani in itself is a mini ocean within the ocean of music. Probably a raga, maximum explored and exploited in films over the years. My guess is that you need about 10 or more episodes to cover a major chunk of film songs in Kalyani
Please do multiple seasons! Going for my second round of this season!

The voice discussion is not clear because of Sruthi box.
Surprised that yester year classic compositions of G Ramanathan, MSV, Lingappa etc are not considered. Kalaimangai uruvam kandu, Ennarumai Kadhalukku, Mugathil mugam paarkkalaam, Ullam rendum onru , Sindhanai sey maname etc are some of those old gems in Kalyani. Sample in my rendition is

Very surprised that one of the best in kalyani Sindhanai sei maname by the great G Ramanathan did not get any mention.also missing is another great kalyani raga song Kalaimangai uruvam kandu by the incomparable duo MSV -TKR..so please try to bring how composers approached this raga instead of one particular composer.
