Note to others: This documentary was not made by this channel. (Not a complaint!)
So the video's assumed ages of islands may be off...
(I thought Kauai was roughly 15mil-17mil years old?)

True/ultimate age of the hotspot itself will never be known as the oldest seamounts in the Hawaiian-Emperor chain are being subducted and recycled by the Pacific-Eurasian plate boundary near Kamchatka/Aleutian Islands region...
If I remember correctly...The oldest seamounts in that region are up to *75* million years old!...
But the HI/Emperor chain has subducted and recycled at that point, into the mantle!
And the hotspot existed/formed BEFORE then!
However, we can't possibly sample rock/lava hat has been subducted/re-melted before then...
But the oldest rocks at that point in the chain date back to roughly 10mil years BEFORE dinosaurs were wiped out!...The hotspot could be up to/just over a hundred million years old....
(Midway Island...Yes the major WWII battle...is part of this chain and geologically speaking, is actually part of Hawaii!...Though I do not remember Geologic-age of Midway Island)

@@brandongray2483 This was from the year 2000 edition as per the end credits in Part 2. The documentary was divided into two files on the DVD so I uploaded them in that format. I just put a link to Part 2 in the description in case you didn't see it. Any info about any of the videos I've uploaded from this company is best found in the end credits. Enjoy!
