Dude your break down from identifying issues, attempted trouble shooting and temporary fixes and finally installing was perfect. Thank you for taking your time and editing this video. Your helping a lot of people by saving them time and money.
Thank you. Simply the best explanation step by step how to fix it and save money
Brooo I had this SAME exact experience! It took me ALOT of research and time trying to narrow down and fix, I had the same experience bought obd2, changed plugs and bought 1 coil to test cylinders, tried additives and YES was injections.. I admire your ambition bc I know what you went through. I'm actually worried after 1 year now that this same issue is reoccurring
Awesome breakdown
One of the best video out there pin pointing the issue. I got the same car and Honda just sent a recall addressing this exact set of problems. Have not gotten a chance to take it but let’s hope it will fix it
Excellent walkthrough. Thanks!
Thankyou 🙏🏽for your video you explained everything perfectly I did this yesterday and it cleared all warnings codes , car is like brand new 2019 Honda Accord sport 1.5 , I feel like I can take on any job now ,
To Hey, bro, how long did it take you to do the injectors? I'm a little bit mechanically kind so I don't want to pay dealership. I know I can tackle the job but what are you saying like? 3 hours, 4 hour, 5 hour job, a 1/2, a day job. A full day job. I might be tackling this next week. I've already changed my spark plugs. My fuel pump my coils. Add my math sensor and still all chambers are misfiring. After were you having some type of same issues of what I'm having? If so, your car is now 100%, it's going no issues, no warning lights.
Thank you For your response have a good day
Best video ever -- thank you so much
Great video. This is a known is a known issue with Direct injection for the 1.5T engines. Try an oil catch can. It is said to help a lot. Just installed mine.
Good time to clean the throttle body too. I think the stop light thing you mentioned at the end is normal. My Civic 1.5t does the same.
Using your video to do a 10th gen civic si. Same engine, charge pipe and throttle body setup a little different, a little easier actually. Thanks for all the details.
Good to know. Thanks for the comment!
Nice job with the video. Don't forget to replace those carbon fouled spark plugs and change the fuel saturated engine oil when replacing the injectors due to a rich condition.
I had this same problem, had a misfire in cylinder 1 so I changed all the spark plugs then it went away but came back. So after having it for some months of driving it with all the lights on and off. I finally took it to Honda and found out I had a blown head gasket, ac leak and misfire in cylinder 1 and 4. Blew my socks off. .. they fixed it since I had a extended warranty thank god or that would’ve been $4500-5000 job.
Great video! Getting ready to do this job myself, going to use this after reference! Thank you!
Good luck!
how’d the job go for you??
@@Eudonis3 other than sourcing parts, it’s a cake walk. Most things are back ordered. Had to get parts from eBay, and a Honda parts website.
I've watched a few videos for this issue, and this one easily had the best views of each step. I feel much more confident to do this job myself instead of paying Honda $1500 to do it for me. Good job man
Hey, if your check engine light is on, and it is P0172 (system too rich) or P219C (imbalance in cylinder 1, D=2, E=3, F=4, you may be able to call Honda customer service and ask them if they can help you pay for the dealer to fix it for you.
@nesone6520 it was a misfire in cylinder 2. I replaced the pack and spark plug and warning came back after a week. Got a diag at the dealership and they said the fuel injectors are bad and they need to be replaced. Submitted a claim with Honda America and after a month or so they told me they aren't going to fix it due to the fact that I didn't buy the extended warranty.
@@joshkersh08 That's messed up. I wonder if the dealership has any ability to help persuade them. I recently went through this and opened a case with Honda customer service a couple of weeks back. Took my car in this week and when I started explaining to the service manager at the dealership, his co-worker made this statement "If it's the injectors they are warrantied for 15 years and/or 150K miles and would be covered to be replaced". I advised her that I had heard about that, but thought it only applied to the Pilots from 2019. She disagreed. My car is just under 76K miles, and low and behold, they stepped up and covered the replacement of not only the injectors, but the spark plugs too. Maybe you can try a different dealership and/or maybe something changed since you got denied. Good luck. I didn't have any extended warranty either.
@@nesone6520 I'll look into that! Thanks for the info!
I’m actually having a problem with my daily Tiida (HR16DE). I’ve gone through the same change out you did and was actually heading to cleaning the throttle body and the injectors. I’d clean them and flow check, before taking the plunge to replace. Great video as always!!!
Good luck! Is the Tilda direct injected?
Nope it's the PORT injection model, so they're easily accessible from the front of the engine. One of the good things about working on the car.@@BoostedFilms
What solved your problems
@@ygbodybuilder3023 Replaced 4 OEM coil packs, 4 NGK plugs, Carb cleaned the throttle, Liquid Moly Injector cleaner x 2. Didn't get around to taking out the injectors as yet. Majority of the rough idle has gone only happens sporadically and only when I I've stopped at a light. Other than that smooth sailing. Would definitely take this holidays to take out the injectors, PCV and EGR and look into cleaning or possibly ultrasonic.
@@syo_nara1916 Hey I had the code 40420 show up a couple of days ago and than the check engine light was gone two days later, the next day the p0304 code came on while driving and check engine light was flashing and car seemed like it didn't want to accelerate, cut the car off went to clock in came came back drove around the parking lot with no problem, what could it be

May I ask how how did you spent on that oem injectors
@@thehegt like $500ish if I remember correctly
Could you share tecnical manual shown for removing the intake manifold?
Nice job the only thing I would do differently is take the negative cable off the battery first, little safer that way
Yep, less chance of a short.
Excellent video! Appreciate the in depth detail! You mentioned that you had adjusted the valve lash previously. Can you provide the valve lash specs for the Accord 1.5t? I am looking to perform the valve lash adjustment on my Accord. Unfortunately, Honda no longer provides this information under the hood of newer vehicles.
Intake 0.21- 0.25 mm , exhaust 0.25- 0.29mm

@@Harry-Ballzonyano problem. Good luck with the job.
Check your motor mounts for the shaking. Also, check your pvc lines. Good luck.
Did you ever get an intermittent flashing check engine light prior to the car losing power? This happens with my friend's car around 40mph then loses all power and wont go past 20mph.
I exactly have same problem with 2018 accord.
Is it ok to use to the same old clips ? Or u need to use new ones
sometimes on these L15 those cold start misfires are head gaskets, even broken cylinder sleeves..
Had same issue crv
What’s the normal idle for this engine?
Identical symptoms with my wife's Accord. Replaced all 4 plugs with new NGK iridiums......new injectors with Hitachi. No misfire codes anymore, but still a slightly rough idle and she said twice now, on the interestate, it went into limp mode. She pulled over, turned off and back on, and drove fine. I'm wondered if injectors are the answer. The lack of codes is what's really throwing me for a loop.
There is a recall on the fuel pump for 2.6 million vehicles between 2018 - 2020. My vehicle w/ 30K miles had this issue occur on Dec 9th 2023 and recall came out Dec 23rd 2023. Honda had no idea what the issue was then but they sure as hell do now.
Did you manage to find out what the problem was?
Twice I had to pullover to turn engine off and on and only thing I get is a flashing check engine icon. About 20 to 45 it starts to lose accelerating.
@@Johnrod213 Hey JRod! Yeah, they diagnosed it as a failed spark plug in cylinder 3. Thankfully they covered the cost. I haven't had the issue come back yet but I am well aware the fuel pump could go out at any moment.
Great video! How long for the injectors to arrive after ordering?
I placed an order once and the place emailed me back and just cancelled the order. The second time i found someone else who orders from a OEM Honda dealer on the regular. It still took about 2 months.
This video is really helpful but i want to know iff the fuel inector are bad car losing a coolant iff someone know tell me please
If your car is loosing coolant slightly this can be due to excessive heat of summer or from a slight leak in your head gasket seal. My headgasket finally went after 230,000 miles on 2020 hybrid accord. You should get your compression checked on each cylinder to make sure your head gasket is sealed.
Hello! I have a 2021 accord and last year my injectors were replaced due to code and lights on the dash. Since December my car has had a random long crank or hard start sometimes both and random no real pattern. Dealer replaced fuel pump due to low pressure and then the high pressure fuel pump because of a dtc. The issue is still there and the dealer cannot duplicate and can’t find a code. Any suggestions?
Also, I have changed the spark plugs as well.
Good video, so did replacing all injectors solved the problem?
Yes. I did this job early Sept of 2023. Been good ever since.
Hey bro I got a 2018 Honda. Accord sport 1.5 I have changed. Spark plugs ngk. Coils ngk fuel pump and last the maf sensor still misfires in all chambers does it mean fuel injectors all bad does I order injectors from ebay they say there oem japan
My car is doing the same thing with the misfire the shop said that it is the fuel injectors but unfortunately they have to order them from Honda and one order comes every week. So thankfully I will get it covered under my warranty. However you should fix the issue you are having with new fuel injectors.
Boroscope each cylinder to look for coolant. Head gasket leak. Injectors could be an issue. Valve hose. 17131-59b-010
I’m having this issue with my Acura rlx
I do the same thing with my blue driver
Going to try some spark plugs then go from there
So in reference to what you say here at 8:00, in your opinion, do you think the part that was discontinued (16010-5PA-305, without the Fuel Joint Pipe) is still a good part to use? I ask because the new part number (06160-5PA-305) costs significantly more (~$500,) I assume do to high demand. The discontinued part plus + a fuel joint pipe (Honda OEM on Ebay from trusted sellers) is ~$220.
I ask because I'm having this exact same problem on my 2018 Accord Sport 1.5t :(
I don't know for sure if its a new version of the injectors or not. For that reason I would not buy the old ones if it was me. But if you decide to give it a shot, report back and let us know how it goes.
@@BoostedFilms So I dropped my car off at the mechanic shop yesterday to have them check the head gasket. And they found coolant in cylinder 3 :( should I just junk the car?...
What do you think about the eBay Honda fuel injectors priced at around $126 it shows the Honda red tag in the pictures but you also see other injectors with the Honda label but Honda blurred out and priced way lower at $79 which worries me not even then $125 injectors are oem
Do it once and do it right. If it was a part you could swap in 5 minutes, i'd maybe risk it, but not in this case.
@@BoostedFilms I already ordered them that’s why, the fuel pipe is oem 100% but the injectors are iffy if you can google “Honda accord 2018 oem injectors” you’ll see eBay pops up claiming it’s oem
Can you reuse the manifold gaskets ?
I wouldn't recommend reusing them.
1.- They could be in a bad condition once you remove the intake manifold. They could be broken, brittle or worn. Which will end up causing an air leak, which will undoubtedly bring more problems.
2.- To get to the intake manifold, you already did too many things. So I don't think it's worth the risk of reusing the gaskets.
3.- I don't think a set of new gaskets are too expensive. So I would definitely recommend buying new ones.
Now I understand that there may be various reasons why you are asking. Out of stock, budget or mere curiosity.
I hope the brief answer helps you choose the best option.
Greetings.
Could a blown headgasket cause that buildup? Would explain rough idle especially on startup, misfires and is the most common problem on these cars. Small slow leak right between the cylinders where they stupidly put a cooling channel.
Carbon build up on the intake runners and intake valves is a byproduct of direct injection. However i'd imagine a leaky or blown head gasket would not help much of anything.
There is now a recall released for this issue. It's the fuel pump. Take your car in and get the fuel pump replaced. My car started having this issue at 30K miles. 2018 Accord Sport 2.0T
Same issue but they’ve replaced the injectors 2x, head gaskets, spark plugs, and rocker arm engine oil control valve. Still hasn’t fixed the issue. I have an extended warranty. I have to bring it back to the dealership. Not sure what to do now? I think this is a bigger manufacturing issue since it appears all 1.5 engines seem to be experiencing this issue. Issue started at only 67k miles. I also started using premium gas. Any input from anyone would be awesome. Thanks
You also started using premium gas ?? You should’ve been using premium gas from the jump. Honest advice would be to sell the vehicle or trade it in if you’ve replaced all those parts you named and it still giving you issues.
@@Freebandzz.Dc5 Thanks for your input. They replaced the engine rocker again, and I immediately traded in the vehicle. This was bittersweet since the car was almost paid off. But I was tired of running into issues. I think it was a combo of reasons why, from manufacturing to incompetent tech (the advisor at the dealership let me know he tried to get another tech to work on it, but they kept putting the same tech on my car, who he wasn't confident was adequately fixing it.) I've learned from my 'research' that these particular engines need premium, but the dealership people tell you they don't. I even mentioned it to them, and they still try to advise me it didn't need premium gas. I decided to lease this time since I didn't love any of the current Honda model vehicles. I also work from home, so I don't worry too much about mileage. We'll see what they have available in 3 years.
Anybody know if this is common on the 2.0’s? I seem to have the same problem now
mainly 1.5 but could happen in 2.0
I followed this video steps.. after everything seems to fix the issue with the misfire 1 but then p0035 code popped up afterwards. Any idea why ??
I'd do a recheck of your connections and hoses. Clear the code and see if it comes back.
Yes definitely did that found a loose wire from the turbo to the manifold. Thank you for the great video!
is this for 2.0? also would you have the link for the injectors ?
This is all the 1.5L
Did you got the recall as well? I recently started experiencing the rough Idle in cold start, looked up online that it might be that fuel pump recall they have going on, I’m worried because my dealership keeps telling me that the part is not available and the idle is getting worse, also got that “limp mode” just once before, I waited like 15 min to restart the car and it went away, scary stuff if it happens while driving I’ve read, very informative video, I’m not gonna be able to do the whole thing but it gives me an idea of what could be wrong.
Yesterday my temp was rising up way too high, I wonder if these are related problems, I don’t wanna pay too much but I need the car alive so I might the bullet and have it checked out again tomorrow.
I didn't have a recall for my fuel pump. If your accord is overheating, you probably have a head gasket issue.
@@BoostedFilms i hope not, I saw this morning that my coolant was low and I decided to take it in, my car lighted up like a Christmas tree around 7 am when I was supposed to head to work, they are running a diagnostic and should call me back before 3 pm.

I’m like are you guys serious?, so we are going to get it fixed obviously, waiting on that extended warranty bs to get approved, I’ve been on point with the maintenance and I have the records to prove them that, my advice is don’t drive it at all or the engine will suffer irreparable damage, I’m beyond pissed, my latest maintenance was March 14th so I hope they don’t try some bs. Still waiting on that recall too for the fuel pump crap! Apparently they don’t have the part anywhere !
@@KazuyaSnakeSK smh I was hoping that wasn’t it but from all the symptoms you listed I’m willing to bet that mine is blown too🤷🏾♂️ I’ve been in limp mode for like the past three weeks I’m still waiting on the part for the recall also but I have an appointment tmrw for them to see if it’s really the fuel pump recall that’s putting the car in limp mode.
