Best show I've ever seen. Warmed up by the Burundi Boys, then came Ian McCullough who kept adding new unknown couplets to his songs, Jim Morrison-stylish, then Zimbo, backed up by a wall sound from the Burundi Boys....waaaw!
Oddly enough was just discussing this with a friend. It was filmed for would become channel 4 but it was never shown. In a vault somewhere I guess. It came up because I’m digitising all my live Bunnymen tapes at the moment including Womad, RAH, Glasto, Stratford and a whole bunch more. I’m doing Womad first. Brings back some great memories. Gig starts with Fuel, only time I ever heard it live. Tape includes the gig plus the soundcheck. Friend of a friend had access all areas & taped the soundcheck. I plan to share it here once complete.
@@simonflower6468 Nice one. There are a few enthusiasts on here who put stuff up and obviously youtube is great for those of us who were around with cameras pre internet. It's just a matter of getting round to digitising properly. - I'm currently trying to persuade an old Granada TV cameraman to hand over several box loads of 16mm rushes that he kept hold of. he shot lots of the live stuff around late 70's/ early 80's Tony Wilson shows. Obviously there is a legality issue (cough) but I know he has footage of Iggy at the Apollo that was never broadcast amongst it all...... gold dust....

Great to hear this. I was just telling someone I saw the drummers with the Bunnymen at WOMAD. A great festival for the few of us who could make it!
Yep. I was there too. Still one of my lifetime of gig going highlights.
Echo and the Burundi Men Classic!!!!!
i thought this was at glastonbury . just goes to show what all that hairspray done to my memory
Best version of this song they ever did.
Absolutely agree pal 🙆♂
I was there also. Great festival.
This was also included on the WOMAD release of that year.
A bit of competition for Pete on the day.
Im blown away
Tough-to-find track! Thanks!
I would love to have been at this gig, unfortunately I was only 11.
❤❤❤❤❤
Still absolutely love this. Wonder if there's any film of it anywhere?
Cameras were at this festival, you would like to think there is some footage of this performance on film somewhere
The Bunnymen were filmed at the gig. So it does probably exist somewhere; unless it has been lost over tme.

@@simonflower6468 Hi Simon, have you uploaded the footage?
Does anyone have a video of this festival where the singer Prince Nico Mbarga also performed?
