Koreans add "-ah" to the name of the person when they want to call them informally. like Jin can call Jimin like "Jimin-ah" when he wants to call him for something but it's rude if Jimin calls Jin "Jin-ah" cause it's not polite to older people. but the younger members do it to the older hyungs to tease them once in a while XD

You asked a very interesting linguistic question. Here's the answer: When speaking to someone of your age or younger than you, Koreans tag "a(아)" at the end of the name of the person you are calling, if that person's name ends in a consonant. For example, "Jimin(지민)" ends in the consonant "n." So when calling him, you would say "Jimina(지민아)" to get his attention. However, when the name does not end in a consonant but with a vowel, you tag the half vowel "y" in front of "a" to make up for the absence of the consonant and say "ya(야)." So for example, the name "Suga(슈가)" does not end in a consonant but with a vowel, and you tag "ya(야)" at the end of the name and call him "Sugaya(슈가야)" to get his attention. This tagging of "a(아)" or "ya(야)" at the end of the name when calling someone's name to get his/her attention is a unique linguistic feature of the Korean language and other languages of Altaic language family to which Korean belongs to!
This is exactly what I wish to explain to international armys who don't understand difference between '-ah' and '-ya'. Thank you for your English skill and explanation!

In korea, calling someone by their name ending with 'ya' or 'ah' is a sign of how well you know them and you wouldn't call a strangers name like that. When you call someone by his or her name ending with 'ya' or 'ah' it means the person is equal or younger in age (or lower in social status, in some instances). 'ya' is used after a syllable ending with a consonant and 'ah' is used after a syllable ending with a vowel, so what you call them depends on their name.

It's the other way around. Ya after ending with vowel. Ah after ending with consonant. e.g. taehyung-ah, jimin-ah. it's for phonetic purposes.
