TA clips are great, the 1 downside is watching guys constantly changing lures , make 4 casts change the plug. People don't fish a plug long enough to learn what it does. Most guys would fish a plug longer if they tied direct. With that said I don't tie direct fresh or saltwater, but on the rare occasion, I will do a loop and not go to the split ring.

Do you guys use tins? Clips are horrible on Charlie Graves or Hopkins.
I've been chewing Strike gum this year. Each piece has 90mg of caffeine. I throw a pack in my truck for fishing and backpack when hiking.
If bluefish around throwing expensive plugs i use Swivel to ta clip to split ring.
TA clips with a split ring is a royal pain in the ass. they also don't fit certain plugs at all. Nothing but headaches.
