Thank u SCW, capturing the lovely local areas,( where tourists, even some locals not venture to),buildings well placed/easy walking, greenery, SO CLEAN/delightful memories of food to die for!!! On a greyish sunday here, faint sunshine, starting of autumn, 26.9.21, so uplifted as if on a mini trip to Singapore BUT for the real visit 2022!! Hopefully government helps hawkers/centres to prosper cos this is also backbone of Singapore. Majority workers/families use food centres. High rise flats do not seem to have proper kitchen space for 'real' healthy cooking. Hopefully all your videos and those of Piggypuggy (showcasing various food courts) will be kept by government tourist Board/museum department for posterity,. Thank you again SCW!!!!

Catherine, thank you for your observations and views. Are you a Singaporean who is unable to travel back? Indeed, Singaporeans' favourite topics are (1) Food & (2) Complains. Piggypuggy is the expert on food courts and food. I am an all-rounder. I love filming and sharing my passion on UA-cam. My main channel is 'CM Chen' channel and many of my videos have been requested for use by TV stations, online media, students on projects, fellow content creators and the National Archives of Singapore.
Back to Food and SCW... I too hope that the gov will help hawkers/centers to prosper - by not raising rentals, utilities bills, centralised cleaning charges etc. In the free-market, the Kopitiams, Koufu & Food Republics are becoming too profit driven. Food is getting expensive.
My 'CM Chen' series on Circuit Breaker vlogs has already been approached by the National Archives of Singapore for them to archive. As you suggested, I hope that the authorities will approach Piggpuggy, me and some other WalkTubers to archive our works for posterity. Thank you for your time ❤❤

_Many thanks Chen, for uploading your latest videos regularly. This particular one. the Paya Lebar Square to Geylang Serai walk was one of your best in terms of sights and engagement for me. Also thank you for featuring the Haig Road Putu Piring shop. Hope you and the family are in good health. Thank you Chen!_ 🇸🇬👍😄

Jeremy, I did a recce of the route on a previous day and also seeked permission to film the Putu Piring shop in advance. On the day of filming, to my surprise, the boss and manager turned up, waiting for me. They even asked me to squeeze inside the little shop to film from a better angle. Man, I was perspiring and under pressure to produce a good video.
The Covid situation is getting worse and I really hope that everybody will take precautions and stay safe. Thanks for your concern and I pray that you and your family are in good health too ☺🙏

@@SingaporeCityWalks Brilliant Chen! That goes to prove my correct assumptions about you. That you will always do your due dilgence on your chosen route(s) and plan ahead. The manager of the Putu Piring stall was a kindly and personable man eager to impart his knowledge. There are places/locations in Singapore which I can say are "of a different air", like Katong and Serangoon Gardens to name a few. Perhaps now I should include Paya Lebar too. Thank You Chen. This walk was of a different class and it's all good. I really enjoyed it. And also my grateful thanks to you for keeping myself and family in your prayers, I also wish for yourself and your family's safety and protection during these uncertain times. GRATEFUL THANKS TO YOU!

@@jeremykwan1792 Thanks for your suggestion Jeremy. I'm not familiar with Katong & Serangoon Gardens and will check out these places in the coming months. There's also one part of Singapore where time had stood still... that's the former Naval Base which was one of my childhood playground. I like to do a tour here (shh...) after I hit 1k subscribers. Such tours typically have low viewership but I will do it out of passion. The roads and buildings are all here as they were in the 1960s. Improved and not demolished. Take care and stay safe!

@@SingaporeCityWalks Thank you very much for your reply Chen. Good to know you would like to do a walking tour at your former childhood playground, the former Naval Base. And I am sure you will likely hit the 1K Subscriber Milestone mark very soon. Btw don't worry about low viewership numbers. People will respect you even more knowing you are doing it out of passion. Thanks again Chen!😊👍

I have learned so much from your videos about the Singapore my visits never encounter. Most of my time is spent at the CBD vicinity, Orchard Road/ District Nine and Raffles City. Singapore is much larger and more varied than i could ever have imagined

Geylang has 2 areas. A neighbourhood area and a Red Light District area. I'm sure you stayed at the neighbourhood area. Haha. Thanks for watching.
