SCSI was a beast for its time. The last time I used SCSI the speeds were about 540MB/s (Megabytes) using Adaptec Ultra320 controller. That is actually still pretty comparable to speeds from today.

Thanks Joe for doing a review and glad you're part of the project. It was your video about 3 years ago on the original #BlueSCSI that put us on the map.

This is awesome news. I have had some problems with BlueSCSI in the past. I will be ordering and testing this out in the Retro Hack Shack for sure!

Those numbers are rivaling decent drives in terms of top speed during large block transfers and absolutely crushing them in terms of small block ones. I bet the boot times are much better?

I wonder how well this would work on the MM/1 system.
The MM/1 is a 68070/68340 based Microware OS-9 68K OS system. I believe a lot of the hardware in the MM/1 is like the old Philips CD-i system.

From Australia, I finally bought one from you mate! Seeing that v2 is meant to be a lot better, I gathered it was finally time.. Lame about the conversion rate, but, allwell, doesn’t appear any AU stores have v2 stock! What’s the largest microSD can the v2 support? I know it’s pointless getting tooo much space (will only be used for an LCIII & LC575), but thought to ask anyway.

Excellent news! Gonna be ordering a few as soon as stock is available and I get paid. Really glad they moved off of the STM32 platform... those buggers are still ridiculously difficult to get ahold of. Digikey, Mouser, etc. are still showing leadtimes anywhere from 6 months to a year(!). Yet RP2040's are still plentiful (and not selling for exorbitant prices.) Plus it sounds like the RP2040 brings more power and performance to the table, to make it possible to incorporate all these new features (hot swap, fast performance, etc.) One quick question, how is compatibility for non-Mac systems in BlueSCSI 2? I have some older Unix workstations (mainly Sun SPARC boxen) that I am trying to restore, but BlueSCSI 1 never really worked very well with those.

Compatibility is quite broad.I have not heard any reports of operation on Sun systems. github.com/BlueSCSI/BlueSCSI-v2/wiki/Compatibility

It's the same process as installing on v1: having a properly formatted HDA image file on an SD card. I can send you an email detailing the process.

Loved the V1's - bought several from your store, can't wait until my small stock of them runs out so I can buy the V2's next.
