Make that proprietary connection a Thunderbolt connection, and this is my dream setup. I would probably still buy it even with the proprietary connection though...love the 16:10, 2 in 1 setup, AMD powered, egpu compatible, non gamer chassis that's clean, light, and high quality...it's everything I wanted from an AMD machine in 2020.

This is really cool. However imagine this being the standard model for every manufacturer in the near future and for way cheaper... I don't mind waiting a few extra years for it for other, better models and cheaper...
My next computer upgrade will probably be getting something like this. I love the idea of being able to unhook the laptop from all the desktop peripherals with just one cable and take it wherever I want to
What i love about Lew and Unbox Therapy is that they don't insult the viewer's ability of comprehension. And they inform the viewer in multiple dimensions at any moment of the video. One second of any Unbox Therapy video equals to 3 minutes of other unboxing channels lol. Have a good one.

The only way. Could see this being improved is having a hard drive in with the eGPU to bolster that 512 or 1tb SSD and give it something extra for your games when your around the Dock 🤷♂️
I am very intrigued by this!!! This could also be used for content creation as well.. IF the screen is very color accurate! The no throttle eGPU is the most mind blowing part!
One thing I really appreciate about Asus ROG is that the like pushing limits and doing new consepts. From the zenbook pro duo to this. I'm highly impressed

But would you game on a 13" screen? What's 120Hz & RTX 30 series graphics for if you're using such a small screen? I really like the concept and I think it's better for 15" & maybe even 17" laptops.

There are 2 gpu's. One is in the laptop and the second one is the external that has the display port that can run on any monitor. nice idea for people that don't want to buy a additional desktop PC.
I would call that close to zero....That port is combined of two ports , PCI Express 8x Gen4 (GPU s connection with mobo ) + USB TypeC Thunderbolt (external connections and probly video/screen ) ... Before this combined port device there were/are products for external GPU docking but they were using only the USB TypeC Thunderbolt port and they were not great you would lose up to 10-15% of your gpu power when you are using pc's screen, using external monitor would bump these numbers but still the loss was there... But this combined port has a lot of bandwith , can and could deliver signal back fast I hope...
@@flushroyal970 that's not a Thunderbolt port since the laptop using an AMD CPU (Thunderbolt is an Intel proprietary tech), it's just a standard USB-C I think and used just for charging the laptop. And the rest of the connection are using the bandwidth from the PCIe port, which is already has faster bandwidth compared to Thunderbolt.

Personally I had Lenovo Thinkpad E14 which has Ryzen 4700U cpu (no external gpu) and had a thunderbolt port for daily charing. I pluged an dongle and managed to charge(65watt) + usb 3.2 data transfer + screen transfer via dongle's hdmi at the same time... Yeah pci express port fast but still they would leave all the bandwith to gpu... I havent seen any indept reviews... The product is not out yet , we will see the details...

I've been a fan of rog since they first popped on the scene for gaming and I tell you they've only improved over the years

Cons: you have to spend lots of money on it cause it is so freaking awesome you couldn't live without it
