Niederlassungserlaubnis is quite a tongue twister. But when I moved to Spain I had to get Empadronamiento at the Ayuntamiento- good luck with that pronunciation. 😅

14:00 - not to forget: you most likely will need a new driver licence which means in general that american are not accepted for the time you are working here, only for a holiday visit. If you are working here and coming from outside the EU you will need a proper german driver licence which usually requires participating in the driver academy for about 2 times a week for at least 6 month before you can try the theoretical examin (and if you do not make it try it another time for about 125€) and after that and about 25 hours of driver training (hour in this case means like a german teaching lesson in school 45 minutes) you might reach the level to go for the practical examin driving a car and parking it. Usually americans tend to think to be great drivers till they had the first lessons in the driver academy are over and they had been told what will be expected in germany and what everyone has to deliver to get a german driver licence. You might think you are a great towing guy ? time for the next driver licence cause towing requires another licence
And the fun of german highway will be shortlived cause while on the highway the driver is expected to stay within the speedlimits and speed recommendations, but also to use the right most lane after you had overtaken a truck or car . Or to be precise in the german way: if you have passed the last vehicle you have to choose the right lane again within 20 seconds after you had overtaken the last car - or you have to be within the 20 seconds on the same level of the next car you want to overtake.
If not then it would be time for a fine - and if you ignore such rules while being in the examin that will stop the ride cause the examiner (which is coming inn the name of the state) will ask you to take the next exit to stop or take the exit to a parking lot. There are an awfull lot more rules and do not ask a german about driving a car and getting a drivers licence, just try to find americans on youtube sharing their experience and how good they think american drivers are after they had achieved the german driver licence cause they have dozens of more good examples to show you in a second the differences and how time consuming it had been to adopt and accept the good german order on the streets and to gave up all the familiar habits from the US which do not fit. If you are not from the USA, just replace the USA with your country and you will face the same issues in general, difficulties to understand the german way of proper driving and to forget your own old habits. It is not USA specific, but americans are making these driver licence videos quite more than all others (EU citizens can use their own domestic one, but all non EU are screwed cause their driver licence is in general not valid while working here - even though there are a few exceptions , countries with a similiar high standard).
And this becomes very important if you need to drive a car for making a living which means job first, then language skills and driver training just be prepared in time.
Of cause the videos mentioned above will show you exhausted, tired americans struggling during the driver academy period and you will only get a more fair and in depth picture of the whole topic once they have achieved their licence and are able to compare both habits and so on where the short summary is more or less:
far safer to drive in germany compared to the USA and what not

You are not completely right, m8. In some Ländern is it not necessary to go through the whole procedure of the driving school and examination. Niedersachsen is one of these Ländern for example

It depends on the state that you are coming from in the USA. I moved here from Virginia and was able to trade my VA drivers license in for my new Führerschein. No additional training required.

Hi. I’ve been watching your videos for years and love your content. I have a quick question. As a Canadian, if I come there, and find a job, I need to apply for resindence permit. Is there a minimum amount of salary requirement to get the residence permit for Canadian citizens? I know that there is some certain minimum amount required for Blue Card.
Thank you in advance for your response.❤

Germany is not for ITs, since team spirit doesn't exist. ITs are relaxed, and German work culture is staff leaving every day with scenes. Literally.
