@Extremexboxplayer i don't really see it a ragebaiting but yeah, check out my videos where I don't use an ambiguous title and how they get a few hundred views compared to getting thousands for ones like this. I can't see what was the harm in any titles or thumbnails I've used, did you want to be angry then find the video to be reasonable?
Worst experience I’ve ever had in a game!!! It’s unplayable on Xbox I bought this over a year ago and it’s still unplayable!! Wait 120 minutes to get a game play for half hour game either has super lag spikes where I freeze for 10 seconds crash into a tree and die or I lose audio, and textures don’t load in or the game crashes to Home Screen. Then get back in queue and start the whole miserable process over. The modded servers are absolutely terrible and the vanilla servers are boring AF if it works it’s amazing but on series x that’s very seldom
@@DoctorDeathFPSi didnt have issues till they added ps5 update and now you cant just spam join a full modded server to join and now you are forced to wait in the massive waiting queue for hours . forced to play conflict and gm servers which half the time are full of trolls and actually unplayable
Honestly one of the best parts if the game is the car ride and the walk to an objective or ambush site, it’s like the silence before the storm it makes the action feel so much more rewarding
I just spent the last 30 minutes alone in the woods following the sounds of gunshots creeping through the bushes with a sniper rifle.... Some call it boring, I call it hunting.. I got one kill the whole match.. some Russian in a car... It was beautiful I had a blast...
I did the same, got to an enemy camp. And then the game crashed. Had to wait 45min to get back in. But.... the game is so immersive. I don't mind all the driving around, walking, stalking, waiting in the church
I play DayZ and am used to running around and stalking people but this game is just a boring team killing shit fest. And it’s clunkier and gunplay is more shit
The game shines when you are in the right server with the right people. The social element is required in order to experience the fun. There are no microtransactions, battle passes, and daily quests. There's no pressure to rush or grind towards anything. You just go out and play pretend cold war with friends. AR is a fresh breath of air, and I think these are reasons why this game is blowing up.
Once me and this random player jumped into an armed UAZ and set up a dope ambush on one of the roads. We spent the next 20 minutes efficiently ambushing enemies coming down the main road. When he caught a random bullet in the head I actually felt a slight bit of grief that he was gone especially knowing that no other friendly was near by. That feeling hasn't been replicated in any other games that I play.
@@brendano4196 I had an amazing 20mins with a random fella the other day. It ended in him not surviving an ambush and it was the most cinematic gaming experience in over 30 years of gaming. I still think about Big Jim and the feelings I had looking into the eyes of his corpse after coming round from blacking out. Then the panic as I hit the deck and crawl through gun fire. What a game
We understand alright… both games are.. Poorly coded Full of hackers On terrible servers Glitchy Arma has one more - poorly optimised. Both are streamer astroturfing trash
Completely agree, It’s why people are fed up of cod if your not a child, the constant need for the game to feed you dopamine every single second isn’t as appealing to most, Alicia’s since we’re all over stimulated even outside of gaming as it is!
I'd keep that sentence to yourself in Arma though.. Soon as you compare it to battlefield you're going to get shit on.. Arma's been around for over 20 years and the community are very defensive especially when it comes to comparing our beloved Arma to CoD or BF titles.. Arma is nothing like either of them and the sooner people acknowledge that the better. lol.. All the gameplay in this video was from a modded server, the base game is nothing like that.. It's harder, you can't see yourself on the map. You have to actually seek out and collect your supplies.. Supplies are physical boxes loaded from shipping containers into a vehicle and then transported between bases.. They don't rapidly generate like the modded servers do.. There's no night vision, the game doesn't hold your hand in any way.. I hate when these channels promote the game but only show you guys the modded servers where everything is easy.. Arma isn't meant to be easy. It's a MilSim.. It's meant to be challenging.. Just know that before you come into it and become another 'victim' of influencers.. Watch some videos on the base game before you dive in.. Do yourself a favour.. lol. I play mostly official unmodded servers, I've got some videos on my own channel that show the real Arma Reforger.. if you're still into it then by all means, jump in. Happy to have new people in Arma as long as you know what you're getting into lol.
Theres different servers for different people. I like KOTH if I want more action. Only 1 objective circle to fight over, grind xp to unlock guns and attachments. It's very familiar but still is arma.
Im a solo gamer and after thousands of hours of Tarkov it has been so much fun playing a game where death doesn't really matter. Instead of going back to the lobby you go back to base and get to drive or ride back to the fight.
@@hanyolo2041 this scratches my tarkov itch x10. Played it around 2020 and loved it then, haven't played in probably 4 years. This feels like what I wanted out of tarkov.
Its a role playing game. Some people play as polots, giving people rides, some are supply drivers, some are medics driving ambulance to the front line. Its a play at your own pace and chose your own adventure type game. Its not for everyone but its for alotta role playing people. Plus alotta ex military vets enjoy it. Great for commrodary and squading up. Communatcation is key
If you think about it, this 'boring' gameplay should be normal. Hyper fast twitching, left and right, killing an enemy every 1.3 seconds gets tiring fast. People are starting to realize this and find value in the slowness. (Normalcy) No wonder, people who constantly play COD are nervous, have ADHD symptoms, anxious all the time, no patience and that shows in other parts in life like driving on the roads.
I think it goes hand in hand with the younger generations addiction to social media and short-form content too. The lack of patience to watch a long video or to wait/work for a rewarding moment in the game. Everything must happen instantly and keep the dopamine coming. If you frag one headshot after another it keeps the dopamine high. Running a kilometer on foot only to get killed by an invisible enemy who was patiently hiding in a good position can frustrate someone who is used to jumping and twitching around in combat.
@@Fanatic102ndHalo ruled the world 20 years ago. Quake and Unreal came before it. It has nothing to do with 'short form content', this is what the arcade FPS genre has been for decades. You just grew up and got sick of it. There is no world in which a time sink like a tactical/milsim FPS will have a wider appeal than a fast paced game where you can be in and out of a match in a few minutes, and there never has been
@@theta426 only two of those games I can admit are faster pace, halo was actually rather slow paced compared to other arena shooters until the implementation of sprint and rocket packs and such. They literally did that to appeal to a particular audience that focused on high intensity shooters like cod at the time. You're blatantly ignoring the fact that cod changed the face of gaming to the point where it's main competitor battlefield even tried copying it over time, to it's detriment with 2042. While your examples are fine to give with quake and unreal that doesn't really negate the point made. There is a reason why people keep buying cod every year despite saying it sucks every year. It's that dopamine chief lmao
I've been playing since launch, solo. If you play on the same server you become friends. It's always sad when an official server loses pop and everyone scatters to different servers.
@@13christbane once you play more often in a certain server people will recognize your name and if you are open for a few conversations or gameplay together you’ll make loads of friends that you’ll see often and play with, without the need of messaging eachother everytime if that person is online
The community behind this game is what makes it amazing - Conflict is great especially with modded servers but from my experience the game comes ALIVE when it's put in the hands of the community in private events whether that's PvE campaigns or competitive PvP - so many talented Game Masters and community leaders out there doing some fantastic work
@@RAT_News got the game a few days ago, I’ve only played the small island map conflict mode and just got used to the gameplay and the controls- how are the modded community servers?
@@christopherchartier3017 you can see some of the typical mods in the OP video like the little birds and modern M4 platforms and scoped but this game has (or will soon have) pretty much every flavour of Milsim, there are Star Wars, Halo, WWII, Vietnam and even STALKER mod packs put together and hosted by different communities. If you prefer things a little more straight down the middle then there are plenty of groups that role play scenarios as different factions around the world - our is loosely based around the US Marine Corps but the possibilities are endless - have a browse around youtube, twitch etc and find something that looks fun :D
Most games for console are arcadey instead of simulation… when most of us want simulation. Also; games make things easy and quick to level up, not realizing that the harder something is to achieve, the more rewarding it is.
For me woth games like Arma, squad, HLL etc everyone has a role to play to achieve a common objective. COD for example is full of people trying to be the main character in their own story, these gamws force you to almost be an npc because you're a cog in the machine but its a nice feeling
It’s nowhere near boring it is a Thrill that no other game can give from chasing gun shots to finally getting to the enemy and getting that kill is rewarding hell even dying! Not knowing if enemies are sniping from the woods or the house infront of you it’s a hell of a thrill!
The game went from a few thousand concurrent players to hundreds of thousands across all platforms, if you really played Arma 2 you would know it's absolutely blowing up for an Arma game
Got a few hundred hours in Arma 2 thanks! We can't know that there's hundreds of thousands because other platforms don't release stats, we just know the peak on steam was 15k
@@GeekyPastimes The same Arma Twitter page you show in your video posted a few days ago that they are experiencing 170k daily active players across all platforms
@@jarrare yep and Arma Reforger has made an amazing comeback on PC with like 16k peak players and the next update brings Mortars and the LAV-25. Then we have the 150k plus console players which is amazing. Arma 3 also had another great year.
@@jarrare I'm a little reluctant to trust stats from the marketing department of games. Like they could be treating me as 6 players because I had 5 crashes and had to reload the game. I think concurrent players is a better metric, ad we only really have steamcharts for that, which shows a peak of 15-16k. Maybe there are more players on xbox and ps5 but I'd be surprised, it doesn't even appear on the top 50 most played games on xbox right now, so is below games like Fallout 4 or Forza Horizon 4
@@JamesH97Gaming It's immediately obvious to anyone who played the game before PS5 launch how many of them currently outnumber XBOX/PC players. If you don't want to to believe numbers directly from a game company then there are independent journalist reporting on it but I really don't know what to tell you cause it just sounds like you believe what you like to
I appreciate the view on "boring" spells in games, which now thinking about it since youve talked about it, this is something I've struggled with in games in the past and now I'm now going to try and enjoy these moments more because you make some valid points. I do remember falling asleep a few times when riding the horse in Red Dead 2 when it was a long ride so we'll see how it goes
The only ones calling this game boring are the instant dopamine addicts who are used to getting their fix quickly and without effort. Much like Tarkov or Squad the fun is in being patient and waiting for those absolutely amazing moments you can't find in any other game. Cinematic situations, an ambush that pays off, or going on a sniping spree after traveling for 20 minutes to get the best spot. It's moments like this that make the game so fun
it's a bit weird to talk about instant dopamine addicts when it seems like you commented before watching the video. In it I explain that the boring and quiet aspects of the game are the things that are so good about this game, having some downtime between the exciting bits to chat to people and take in the scenery.
I think that's the reason I liked DMZ: pottering around the map at my leisure, (unless pounced on by a team trying to wipe the server), collecting things, making equipment etc. Servers are still nice & full so it makes a nice change to the relentless pace of multiplayer as you say.
I discovered this back in 2023. I hosted an Arma 3 server for like 6-10 of my friends to play on over a summer break. The gamemode is called Antistasi, it's sort of like a PVE milsim Far Cry where you capture outposts and loot guns to get stronger, and the main goal is to take control of 80% of the map to win. We played with a realistic radio mod that's hooked up to TeamSpeak as well, so it's fully proximity and in-game radio based and we don't use Discord, it was super immersive. And that's where the magic sparked for me. Being able to walk up to someone and talk to them in a 3D space is weirdly refreshing. I usually would be at the main base, building sandbags and managing inventory, so I have quiet moments to just reflect or listen to music. While my friends in a combat squad would pop back from time to time to offload loot or because they died and respawned. As an introvert myself, this is 10x better than being in a chaotic discord call where 5-6 people talk at the same time. Having the space to both be alone and be in the battle with friends is a really awesome gaming experience. These downtime moments in FPS multiplayer games are almost exclusive to Arma nowadays. Even other milsim games like Squad or Hell Let Lose rarely (or sometimes never) have something similar. That's why Arma is still a one-of-a-kind, even after all these years.
It's the hours of fucking around with the boys until something interesting that happens. That's where the magic is and why it's so fun with friends. Going around and chasing logis, getting ambushed and explosions happening everywhere is super fun after absolutely nothing for an hour and a half, and your fights are often not in urban areas so much which I like.
This game feels refreshing. I grew up playing BF3 and BF4, but sadly those games shifted focus to flashy colored skins and meta movements. Reforger is a no-nonsense, barebones sandbox where I don’t have to worry about leveling up just to keep up with everyone.
Some of us discovered this kind of gameplay 24 years ago when Operation Flashpoint (the first Arma game) came out and never again enjoyed the unrealistic fast paced FPS games which became more and more ridiculous as time went on. Console players in particular never had the chance to play a game like this so I imagine many of them are discovering the beauty of Arma games for the first time. It is more about the experience that the competition and the best part is that you never know what is gonna happen because the possible scenarios are almost limitless.
In my experience you can make this game exactly as boring or exciting as you want it to be which is exactly what I love about it. Need some excitement? Rush into battle. Feel like just doing some support for the team? That’s good too. Feel like stealth? go behind enemy lines set up an ambush or do some sniping. Feel like goofing around? There is a great amount of freedom to be creative in this game.
Great hangout game you can choose your play style in every match CQC sniper operator and it’s even better with friends it has very high potential. The hardest hurdle to make this game fun is the learning curve.
@ agreed but a lot of console players are used to a faster more simple COD play style causing them to judge the games fun in the beginning like everyone saying it’s a walking sim. Not at all really once you utilize the vehicles you barley walk at all, also the load out save is very confusing people lose load out and get frustrated but still the ones who get it are loving it. I do.
Thank-you for the video. You definitely took the video in a different direction than I was expecting. I have over a hundred hours in Reforger and I absolutely love it. I got tired of frenetic “twitch shooters” like COD and BF. After a while those twitch shooters all feel the same, as you said. It’s all rush, rush, rush. I really don’t care about Kill/Death ratios anymore. Now I prefer the communication & coordination required to win a match. I, like you, enjoy chatting with fellow players during the “boring” times. I still remember some of the players I met and joined to launch assaults or to defend a base. It becomes the stuff of memories. Thanks again. One more thing, I may be wrong but I don’t think you are zeroing your weapon for different distance. There was one time for sure when you were really struggling to hit your targets. Using page up or page down buttons allows you adjust the sights on your weapon to make them more accurate.
Couldn’t agree more. “The boringness” is actually really important. It helps you really appreciate the beautifully immersive environment. It’s particularly stunning when it’s raining! I had 3000 hours on Arma 3 and I got Reforger day 1. I wasn’t expecting much, but I just loved the environment and it’s smoothness…and I haven’t been back to Arma 3 since!….also, the boring really helps weed out the riff-raff! 😊
I like JackFrags, too, but to say he doesn't do click bait is absolute BS. He rarely puts the name of the game in the title of his videos so you're baited to click on it...
Ive had the game a few weeks and have made so many buddies on that game that i play with on the regular....we got a group chat on Ps5 and all join up when we see each other online..
There are so many things to learn that it warrants you take your time. It's not like other games so you have to learn a hell of a lot quickly...im currently randomly walking trying to find enemies without my own squad killing me...
Due to the state of BO6\Warzone the streamers have got to find something to big up otherwise they will have to find a normal 9-to-5 job like most people.
There's a few COD players joining up. It reminds me of the OG Verdansk BR . There was a lot of moving into the zone back then with periods of quiet and the odd engagement. You could talk on the way in. But the COD engine enables sweats to do things like sliding/bhopping . It's also a constant grind to unlock the meta guns . In Arma it's all there from the second you start the game. So it's less stress. It's great to play with friends . At the moment I'm watching Jack Frags playing and he's just driving supplies and base building with Will . He's having a great time.
I feel you with COD. I have been playing almost daily and for several hours on the weekend for years, but it's getting too silly with the skins and blueprints and the stupid omni movement. With wall running apparently coming next, I'm definitely through with it.
Its definitely not a style of game for everyone, especially for people who just want quick combat and quick matches. However Arma overall is fantastic for those who enjoy the slow realism style games that can go from a boring walk with buddies talkin to a massive firefight at any moment. Also is a great game for RP if you are into it, especially with modded servers
i am new to milsim and new to reforger and i love doing the supply runs and that type of support, its fun to take over the ai supply stations and to take over the ai towns and holding them down against the enemies and ai and then resupplying the bases
This type of game is usually PC only. But for consoles to get it? Gamechanger. Like when the original Playstation got Command & Conquer and Rainbow Six. Or Dreamcast got Quake III and Unreal Tournament. That's the big deal. Think it's boring? It's not for you. Go back to playing in the kiddie pool. This pool is adult swim.
The game is extremely buggy on PS5 & XBOX. But the concept is amazing!! I can appreciate what they are trying to do. If this game reaches its full potential, it can be candidate for game of the year!
Get the Band of Brothers feel you say. I see it as like a blacksmith vs. a 3D printer. Printer so wonderful and fast(Call of Duty, Battlefield, Apex, Xdefiant…etc…), but u appreciate the slow craftsmanship/verisimilitude(appearance of being true and real) of a black smith(Arma Reforger) like that popular show Forged in Fire. See too many digital fx movies, but then you see the non-digital fx of Dark Knight it is refreshing 😊.
I just got the game (on console) and it has been fun for me. I survived a few gunfights (revived twice). Flanked the enemy. That one life was a hell of an experience. Just finished editing it. Experienced players know where the enemy is at which makes it better I thought the game was getting overhyped but it does have some fun moments. I'm more of a HLL player
For me it's the banter and slow pace that I like. Driving to the objective and having a laugh with mates or randoms. No microtransactions or other DEI stuff. But I come from battlefield 2 project reality back in the day. So I lean more towards those milsim games. Last time I actually enjoyed a fast paced shooter was battlefield 1 from 2016.
I dont think its about boredom, its about pacing, Youll have that downtime moving from point to point just relaxing with friends, but the gunfight happens and seeing some experienced players lock up and do their thing is v immersive (Coming from zeus ops in arma 3)
imo Armas at its best when you find a good milsim group, or likeminded* group and play some coordinated curated events, If you want super hardcore milsim with real world tactics using communication, you got it, if you want fallout, yes, if you want star wars, no (Disney wont let them) if you want star wars adjacent, yes, Halo, yes, Arma 3 its even more open, anything you want to do you can, imo armas as much a roleplay game as it is milsim
it makes the moments of action that much more intense. You just spend an hour getting across the map and getting into position just in time for the perfect ambush.
I feel like these games can come off boring to a shooter crowd that's used to the fast pace shooting of any other fps like call of duty or battlefield. The scope of this game is MASSIVE, the maps are massive and the coordination to win is EXTREMELY reliant on the players cooperating with one another. I personally play dayz alot so I appreciate just the visuals and sounds and " hunting " if you will, other players. It's a very risk/reward playstyle, you have to be careful with every move you make, you can get shot once and die and that can be a Huge setback. This game also has the most open coms I've ever experienced in a game, literally everyone talks and has a mic and are constantly working together. It's a good team based game no matter who you are or what you're playing on, you will make friends out of random ass ppl
The physics and animation jank is the best of the arma games IMO. Which honestly makes me hopeful that we'll see even more improvement with Arma 4 physics and animations.
Yeah as a long-term Arma player I'm incredibly happy you can drive through bushes without being launched to the moon or exploding instantly.. The Arma 2 & 3 Vehicles vs Nature was super frustrating lol also being able to jump is nice.. Instead of that weird vaulting thing.
Deuce and a half!!!!! For us American viewers. lol. Appreciate the info. Been seeing this title a lot and this is the first video that I actually watched on the game. GG
I can't believe this is ONE of the first times a hardcore milsim multiplayer has been brought to consoles. I'm more excited for them than anything, I mean we've had these experiences on PC for a long time... Bohemia legit hit a gold mine of untapped space putting this on console and actually doing it pretty well. Yeah i said one of the first. I think the first was probably SOCOM back in the day for PS2. However, the modding issue is already happening. I've seen it before for skater XL, which is sort of a skateboarding simulator. The experience on PC is so much better on that game because of mods..i legit wouldn't play it without mods. A similar thing is happening with reforger...i already see console players in comments like "damn why don't we get all of that stuff too". An solution, is to port the very best PC mods to console through a in game mod browser, i highly doubt they are gonna do that. Skater XL they sort of did it with maps, so console players can skate the PC modded maps but they are still missing a whole lot of mods that make the game truly addicting. I highly doubt Bohemia are gonna do it. And yeah, simulators are sort of "boring" but in a good way. Arma is definitely a somewhat realistically paced warfighting simulation game.
Just to add to what everyone else is saying. I'm not getting any younger and sweating everyday on CoD or Siege is starting to get harder and harder to keep up especially as I don't have the time to sit gaming all day so Reforger has been our chill and chat game with some intensity thrown in. I also feel like making a squad of friends and actually playing the objective feels super rewarding
Nice video. I picked this game up when it was first released and been playing it on and off since then. The influx of PS5 players will calm down and the game will go back to niche when then next big thing arrives. Personally I play with cross play off as I find PC players more co-operative. I'm 48 and can't keep up with the kids, so I just do supply runs
It's so nice that supply runs are an option and are still fun to do, I've loved just spending an hour doing a bit of that, then fighting for a bit, then defending, then flying helis, it's got great variety
No slide cancelling,no bunny hopping round corners ,no quick scoping from 2metres away , no stupid skins to run around in ,its unapologetically a realistic war simulator and every squad action in the game can either win or lose you the war , its exactly what some people are looking for , im told that this game is used by various militarys across the world because of its realism , how true that is i dont know but it wouldnt surprise me my first day playing i never got a kill and ended up getting in a jeep with randoms to take a base only to get blown away by an attack helicopter within minutes , loved every minute of it 😂😂😂
Cod just went downhill after mw 2019 bo6 is just cancer and hard to play I remember the good days where the 5 of us would play mw3 all day and like one team would take over a part of the map and the other team had to take it this game brings back those memories in a way
Totally agree with everything you said we play BF4 almost every week and enjoy the pacing sometimes in the game especially on the bigger maps and nothing better than coordinating with your mates planning attacks it makes it so much but than running and gunning of cod with the sweaties we did get good vibes with DMZ but that became a sweaty haven in the end but games do need to slower paced we are on the fence with arma reforger but good explanation of game
This game is a true tactical FPS. The player base is peeking a lot because they just allowed for consoles like the PS5 on December 2024. Most first person shooters don't have an actual tactical base this game does, identify your targets before shooting.
"Man, I've been in this match for so long, now i kind of wanna finish it." 7 hours later.... I literally had the same last weekend, i ended up playing from 12 til 8:30... the game just hooks you, you lose track of time since you get so used to doing things that take a bit of time..
I've been waiting to play this on console since I've heard It might happen in 2020 or earlier. I know this is basically a $40 alpha test. But I'm into it.
I've got thousands of hours in dayz, modded and vanilla and honestly arma on ps5 is so fun, especially a packed server where every objective is contested
I find it a lot more difficult than arma 3, especially in Koth. The map is slow to open, setting waypoints is slow and I can’t even see distances between myself and the waypoints I place, and there’s no minimap onscreen. There is a gps as an ingame object but it’s clunky and time consuming to use, which will often get you killed. They redid the control scheme which is annoying asf. Most Koth servers have 3rd person disabled for some reason. If someone dies, you cant just resuscitate them anymore, they respawn instantly, which makes playing Koth with your buddies really tedious. Ironically even though they’ve made the game run a lot smoother, the gameplay feels much more slow and laborious. Combat is a lot harder and the aiming is out of wack. For some reason, people are absorbing half a clip of ammo without dying. Numerous times I’ve shot people point blank but because I wasn’t aiming using the sights none of my fire connected. There are so many instances of me shooting at people which would have easily killed the same person had we been playing arma 3 but didn’t. I find myself dying at a far higher rate, a big reason being it’s just so slow to find my bearings. So much walking, no spawn vehicle. Vehicles are more touchy and difficult to control in general. I feel like I’m playing a hardcore mod of arma 3, but they didn’t even have the courtesy to add a suppressive fire mechanic. A proper suppressive fire mechanic would help immensely for both new and old players to survive and not insta die as soon as they make it within 500 meters of the combat zone.
This game is great when it's not crashing or throwing u out of servers. The action really depends on ur play style. I am all for full frontal assault go out in a blaze of glory, so I take the time and plant a backpack radio near the enemy bases and just go ham for like 50 minutes while they and try and figure out where I keep coming from It's all on u be more balsy and ull have blast
I wouldnt exactly call it boring, there are times spent travelling but even thats pretty short if you are on a good server with chopper pilots doing runs, and at those times you get to meet and chat with a bunch of funny people.
Arma Reforger is the best thing to happen to console shooters since R6 Siege and its not close in any capacity. I have 4k hours in Arma 3 and its great to see people abandoning Call of Dopamine and Battlebug 2042.
There arnt many MilSim games on PlayStation that deliver the experience ARMA does. Hell Let Loose, Insurgency and DayZ are good game games…among the greatest to some but ARMA I feel combines all 3. Some of these games last 8 hours, I usually play for 3-4 hours and by the end, you really do feel like you went on a journey. The memories are real rather than remembering the crazy “fury kill” you got in call of duty.
100% agree with the point on call of duty its not really fun anymore , the pace of the game has only got faster year after year and the combat isnt fun or special because its non stop its all you do where in arma you look forward to a gun fight as their less often and same concensus with kills as well , arma is just a good mix of a relaxed and intense gameplay

I agree age of the player has a lot to do with the perception of a game. As a 45 year old man, I have no interest in playing the 57th version of C.O.D. I find it to be much to unrealistic and very much repetitive year after year. Arma gives of fresh take on the first person shooter and helps guide people into using teamwork for tactics as opposed to having 10 Rambos running around on their own fishing for toe kills while the bounce around like a rabbit.
Unplayable for me on a newer Xbox Series S even on single player combat ops, runs extremely well and smooth for me on a day one PS5 even on 128 player servers. The only issues I've ran into are server fps every once in a while but people say it's the AI, idk
Been desperate for a new game since pubg shat the bed so got reforger, It got a lot of things right but there are a few deal breakers to me, the gun play has too many actions that require more than one button press creating a delay when milliseconds matter and means reaction time and accuracy under pressure simply arent a factor against those willing to sit and wait for someone to run into their cross hairs for half an hour. Also the reticles become miss aligned if you ads and lean, kind of an unforgivable flaw for a shooter. Then there is its janky net code where you can empty a mag into a player and not kill them or shoot someone 3 times with a dmr with the same result. Also it can be nearly impossible to tell the direction of even un silenced weapons, you should instantly know the direction of the shooter if they arent silenced, it removes those occasional moments where you get to turn and burn a player who thinks they have an easy kill on you.
Wait until you learn about the terminal ballistics and how bullets tumble, mushroom and cavitate after they've penetrated something. or that supplies are physical boxes transported across the map or that nobody fucking cares about your kill/death ratio because it's not CoD. Your complaints are all superficial. The audio is so crisp most people use the gunshots in the distance to hunt down other players, the problem seems to be your ears or headset.. not the game.. If you load up the game in a locally hosted GM session and go put yourself in the valley east of the castle and fire off a couple rounds you can hear the gunshots reverberate off the mountain sides.. The game has amazing audio for weapons distant and up close.. Your problems, just sound like your problems. If you're referring to modded weapons, then it's probably something off with the mod.. the base game audio is great. Finally, Arma's not a traditional shooter. Milliseconds don't matter most of the time.. reticle alignment again sounds like a mod issue.. Most of the base game weapons are iron sighted. Only a couple of optics for the M16 a single one for the AK74 and AKS.. You shouldn't judge the game based on mods.. Then again, you come across as someone that skipped the training and just wants to shoot cunts.. Since we're getting a LAV-25 I suspect the US forces are marines and in a future update there should be some crayons for you to munch on while you find more shit to whinge about.
Sure netcode and other things can be improved but IRL the scenarios you described would go exactly the way you just described here. 9 out of 10 times you have no chance against a well positioned and prepared shooter. The "turn and burn" mechanic on sneaking up players from other games is complete bullshit too. Try turning around with a rifle IRL and see how quickly you manage that to effectively shoot someone standing right behind you. :D This is exactly what Arma tries to eliminate even if its at a cost of being "boring". It is not about skill with mouse and keyboard/controller as much as it is about tactics. Accuracy under pressure might help you win a firefight while fighting from cover.
I feel like most good opinions on arma are all included with mods. Take the mods out of it and people's opinions are much different, more because the base game is so barebones than being bad.
@TomTheSurgen1 there is nothing wrong with 'clickbait' it's not a bad thing to make something alluring that pulls you to want to click on a video. I don't think you understand the term. 🤣 look it up in a dictionary my mate. Now As long as a title or thumbnail is NOT misleading and you've clicked good vid coz of the title or thumbnail then they did their job. Stop whining

@@GeekyPastimes is it so much to ask to just make videos without ragebaiting in the thumbnail and title?
@Extremexboxplayer i don't really see it a ragebaiting but yeah, check out my videos where I don't use an ambiguous title and how they get a few hundred views compared to getting thousands for ones like this.
I can't see what was the harm in any titles or thumbnails I've used, did you want to be angry then find the video to be reasonable?
@GeekyPastimes i watched the video and liked it, just shared it was ragebait.
It's slow enough for friends to have a conversation as they play which is a massively underrated trait for a game
My friend played The Finals with me and you can't have a convo in that game. 😅 Way too much stuff happening.
@DoctorDeathFPS the most recent update has fixed a lot of that if you play on good servers with good ping.
@@DoctorDeathFPS its good now. i didnt like it when i first tried it months ago and im an arma fan.

Honestly one of the best parts if the game is the car ride and the walk to an objective or ambush site, it’s like the silence before the storm it makes the action feel so much more rewarding

@@Nicarus81 Hi. People don't get it. This is not COD. Lots of toxic players atm...
Yeah it's much about an actual experience not just having sounds and flashes constantly distracting you from having any thoughts.
I did the same, got to an enemy camp. And then the game crashed. Had to wait 45min to get back in.
But.... the game is so immersive. I don't mind all the driving around, walking, stalking, waiting in the church
@@Nicarus81 your persistence is on a level and I commend you sir
100% game is awsome
@brendano4196 yes I've never felt the absolute fear of seeing all your friendlies getting dropped and suddenly your alone in enemy lines lol

As a non English speaker, I'm having a lot of fun practicing my communication skills in the game, it's even helping on my job
Ah that's awesome
One of the best gaming experiences of all time
This is the battlefield game I was waiting for, squad gameplay, radio communication, good graphics

Im a solo gamer and after thousands of hours of Tarkov it has been so much fun playing a game where death doesn't really matter. Instead of going back to the lobby you go back to base and get to drive or ride back to the fight.

(Normalcy)
No wonder, people who constantly play COD are nervous, have ADHD symptoms, anxious all the time, no patience and that shows in other parts in life like driving on the roads.
@ Yes. Well said. Reality unfortunately.
You had me at jumping and twitching 😂 sad for them 😅
@@Fanatic102ndHalo ruled the world 20 years ago. Quake and Unreal came before it. It has nothing to do with 'short form content', this is what the arcade FPS genre has been for decades. You just grew up and got sick of it.
One of my favorite things in GTA:SA was to drive a truck in the countryside listening to KDS-T
the key to these games being fun is having a squad of friends to play with.
It is a lot of fun with friends but when I played for 8 hours I started solo and just found people. Send a lot easier on this

Bro same😂😂😂
The only ones calling this game boring are the instant dopamine addicts who are used to getting their fix quickly and without effort.
And points don’t matter.
It’s incredible how a game with no actual progression system with gimmicks and skins etc feels more rewarding to invest time into
Yeah, it's something special for sure, I kind of thought we wouldn't get games like this anymore.
I think the learning curve is a bit better than most milsim games, the tutorial is actually pretty good!
Thank you for watching all the way to the end!
Its so awesome to see that happening - I thought those days of online gaming were gone. How does it run on PS5?
The immersion between the action is where the 'fun' is to be had.

There are so many things to learn that it warrants you take your time. It's not like other games so you have to learn a hell of a lot quickly...im currently randomly walking trying to find enemies without my own squad killing me...
I love that "boring" game 😅 a lot better rather than getting an epileptic shock from the Skin Packs in COD 🤣
Due to the state of BO6\Warzone the streamers have got to find something to big up otherwise they will have to find a normal 9-to-5 job like most people.
Played this when it was originally Operation Flashpoint.
If the other Bohemia Interactive games are anything to go by, I wouldn't hold your breath
Experienced players know where the enemy is at which makes it better
I thought the game was getting overhyped but it does have some fun moments.
@GeekyPastimes I got shouted at over voice for doing supply runs and building radio towers for passive supply income. I don't get it
Its such a great game some times boring, annoying , but so many funny engagements ! And the ambushes and gun fights so satisfying
I guess I would've liked it more if I had friends that played that kind of game. It always looks like fun.
No slide cancelling,no bunny hopping round corners ,no quick scoping from 2metres away , no stupid skins to run around in ,its unapologetically a realistic war simulator and every squad action in the game can either win or lose you the war , its exactly what some people are looking for , im told that this game is used by various militarys across the world because of its realism , how true that is i dont know but it wouldnt surprise me my first day playing i never got a kill and ended up getting in a jeep with randoms to take a base only to get blown away by an attack helicopter within minutes , loved every minute of it 😂😂😂
Cod just went downhill after mw 2019 bo6 is just cancer and hard to play I remember the good days where the 5 of us would play mw3 all day and like one team would take over a part of the map and the other team had to take it this game brings back those memories in a way
Totally agree with everything you said we play BF4 almost every week and enjoy the pacing sometimes in the game especially on the bigger maps and nothing better than coordinating with your mates planning attacks it makes it so much but than running and gunning of cod with the sweaties we did get good vibes with DMZ but that became a sweaty haven in the end but games do need to slower paced we are on the fence with arma reforger but good explanation of game
is it weird that after playing squad this feels oddly fast paced to me?
I bought and downloaded this game today, and I'm already in love with it❤
im starting to get more in love with military simulation shooters, like squad for a good example it feels like you are in a war forreal
I'm never bored. Awesome game.
Wait till we get jets, skydive equipment, javelins,m1a1 , MLRS, heavy artilery, all hell will break loose!
any game has boring parts...but there are def very exciting parts to this one
Yeah but this video is about how important the boring parts are
I find it a lot more difficult than arma 3, especially in Koth.
It's the perfect balance between strategy and action
This game is great when it's not crashing or throwing u out of servers. The action really depends on ur play style. I am all for full frontal assault go out in a blaze of glory, so I take the time and plant a backpack radio near the enemy bases and just go ham for like 50 minutes while they and try and figure out where I keep coming from
It's all on u be more balsy and ull have blast
I wouldnt exactly call it boring, there are times spent travelling but even thats pretty short if you are on a good server with chopper pilots doing runs, and at those times you get to meet and chat with a bunch of funny people.
You should watch the video, that's exactly what I'm talking about in it!
If it had Squad Leaders like SQUAD does then this game would actually flow. Right now it's just as chaotic as Battlefield but slower.
I been playing the training part and not been able to get into it . Maybe I need to just jump in
@The_incredible_Adam dude, do this. I've just bought it at 12am (I'm in uk) it's now quarter to 4 in the morning and I met random people on there and had a blast!
Finish the training, feels long winded I know but it really does help. Pay special attention to navigation.😂
@@The_incredible_Adam training will help a lot or just hop in And get some of the people to help u out most the people I’ve asked for help would be glad to help
@@flippakitten I got as far a the medical part . I did the sniper training and the make it sound harder then it is lol . I will try nav training. My problem is that I have my 8 year old son keep asking me to play fortnight whenever I try something play arma
@@The_MadFatter is there anything training wise you think it would be beneficial to look at before I jump in ?
Yeah, in warzone every game had its own little story. Like it Used to feel like a journey. Now it’s just run, kill, get killed.
Absolutely love this game because of the teamwork and logistics, but I also have 5000 hours on DayZ 😅
I get what your saying, I find constant action boring though after a while. It's the tension in games like ARMA I love!
If every moment is then the average is lower. give us some and the moments stand our more
It's nesh because it has such a learning curve to game play
I agree age of the player has a lot to do with the perception of a game. As a 45 year old man, I have no interest in playing the 57th version of C.O.D.
I find it to be much to unrealistic and very much repetitive year after year.
Arma gives of fresh take on the first person shooter and helps guide people into using teamwork for tactics as opposed to having 10 Rambos running around on their own fishing for toe kills while the bounce around like a rabbit.
Very honest review.
Once u learn the navigation its really fun
It's almost like the shooter version of a cosy game for me. Though I don't play, just watch (until they get mods on PS5)
that's a really nice way of putting it, and I just saw they confirmed mods for PS5 on twitter! Not sure how long it'll be
Unplayable for me on a newer Xbox Series S even on single player combat ops, runs extremely well and smooth for me on a day one PS5 even on 128 player servers. The only issues I've ran into are server fps every once in a while but people say it's the AI, idk
I like how you can take an enemy radio and listen in or sow the seeds of choas with feeding false info😂
Ive been playing arma since it was released for p.s and im having a blast
7:39 always build a radio tent first guys!! Please 🙏🏻 (I drive logistics haha)
It’s fun if you have a lot of people to play with. If you go in solo it’s a boring running simulator
I went in solo yesterday but ended up hanging out with a couple of groups, it was good
Jack frags doesn’t do click bate pmsl, wtf are you smoking, all his thumbnails are click bate
@TomTheSurgen1 there is nothing wrong with 'clickbait' it's not a bad thing to make something alluring that pulls you to want to click on a video.
I don't think you understand the term. 🤣 look it up in a dictionary my mate. Now
As long as a title or thumbnail is NOT misleading and you've clicked good vid coz of the title or thumbnail then they did their job. Stop whining
Worked on you, didn't it? Got you to comment, which just feeds the algorithm and gets this video recommended to more people.
