Valid point. It's because he's trying to measure to corners as opposed to two points on a wall, then a further two points on the next wall. Also, the app that allows you to position the "instrument" is calculating a basic resection. Trying to shoot door reveal corners is highly inaccurate as you'll only be able to measure to somewhere "near" the corner, not the exact corner. It's a clever little tool, but really only a Leica Disto on a rudimentary tripod with a simple app in the background. As a time served land surveyor (27 years and counting), stick to professional tools and professional staff with knowledge in creating measured surveys. While the technology is relatively sound, ignorance in how to use it will lead to incorrect floor areas, poor quality survey and potentially awful design. There's a reason why people follow career paths. Apps and cheap equipment don't make up for a lack of experience.
did you verify the accuracy of your first room mesurement?? does the room really have that big of a difference of mesurement between the north and south wall on your plan ?? does the angle on the small wall seems accurate??
@@ZebraInvest ok thanks. can you easily incorporate a beam or a niche or any architectural detail( like a cathedral ceiling or an arched openings. or is it only with the tool on the app that add door and windows?? and does it have a way to insert a thickness for wall individually??
I have the original first version and haven't even opened it yet. Well, just to check the build quality and it seems solidly built. Is this one leaps ahead of mine? Do you have both? If so, what are the chances of a comparison video? Thanks!
Only the 3D version, the difference is it calculates distance based on Pythagoras - so you might not be able to measure to all corners using the 2d version. Sadly no comparison.

Yes, the room isn't straight at all!
I've since got the professional stand which helps prevent wobble when measuring and potential inaccuracies.
