I remember that Michael and his Dad ran a marathon right after Collabro won The BGT 2014 Season!!! It was apparent that Michael's relationship with his father was very special. Even after that huge life event that occurred the day or couple days before, Michael kept that commitment to his father!!! I was very impressed!!!

And how lucky you are to have this recording of David's voice, even though it brings tears; I have none of my parents or my brother and believe me, I wish I did.

I know it is extremely difficult when you lose your father. I was 11 when I lost my father to cancer. The thing that I see with Collabro is not only a group of best friends but also a family of brothers, who share nearly everything. Not only did Michael lose his dad but everyone lost a dad. That is why it has hit hard for everyone cause he was so invloved in your guy's lives. Yes there maybe other fathers in the group's family system, but you feel the loss when you lose one parent. Gentlemen don't forget to have time to grieve

Michaels dad was a very special man. Always running around at shows. Helping the Collabro boys. But David always had a moment to say hello. A special man, plus the pride he had for his son, was there for everyone else to see.

This really touched me, as I lost my father on the morning we were to travel to my sister's home prior to my trip to England and Scotland. I was crying for Michael, my friend who recently lost her mother, and my Dad and I! This song will now always have a very special place in my heart ❤

i didn’t realise until watching this today that i had been subconsciously avoiding watching this video because, seven years ago this past weekend or two on the 26th of October, my dad passed away. i remember the heartache i felt when i got the notification about the news of david’s death, for it had taken me back to my dad’s own passing! the strength you have michael to not only introduce your late dad’s vocals on one of your songs but also have the strength to sing along is utterly beyond me! sure, it’s been a year for you and seven years for me since i lost my dad but, as upsetting and heart-wrenching as it is, i am slowly starting to forget the sound of my dad’s own voice and just watching this and see how you reacted to hearing your dad’s voice again really made me realise something. it made me realise that whilst i do find it easy to talk about my dad and his passing, if i heard his voice, i am absolutely a hundred percent sure i would freak out and not know to react. purely for the fact that it’s coming to the point where i’ve grown up without my dad for seven years that, i can no longer hear his voice anymore. your dad was a brilliant singer and it’s very obvious that that’s where you got your beautiful singing chops from as well. i adore you so much michael and i am incredibly proud of you for getting up on that stage and singing that song alongside your dad’s prerecorded vocals despite the difficulty it was for you. i am so proud to call you an idol of mine! and a huge thank you to the other three, jamie, matt and thomas for not even hesitating for a moment before comforting michael in what was an utmost vulnerable moment for him 🤍

As Christmas approaches the emptiness, the hole in my heart gets bigger and hurts more. I listen to your music every night and am thrilled when I find a new song. I am saddened that your time together is coming to an end and I pray that you all find happiness in your new endeavors. Your talent will take you far, reach for the stars!

I have always loved the music and the harmonies but had been bothered by the lyrics. Now, I feel it so differently. Now I am hearing either a father comforting his wounded child or that child singing to his ill father.

Well actually the one who wrote this song was Chris Martin Coldplay. He wrote this song cause his then wife deal with the loss of her father. In this veraion of the song, they sing along with David's voice, which I think was something that David wanted to do. So the boys now sing along with this recording in honor of David, who I have read did a lot with theae young men
