Your videos have really sold me on this Mixer. It's insane how much they've packed into it at this price point. Honeslty, I'm shocked they have given it so much capability. Anyone frustrated with a lack certain features need to understand how much value you are getting from this thing. I've worked in technology manufacturing for years and I'm blown away they are putting so much software development into this thing.
Hey Damon, thanks for your message! I actually ended up responding to it briefly in the latest FLOW 8 video. I hope you're enjoying the mixer & really appreciate your message. Here's the latest video so you can check it out - ua-cam.com/video/l1o7Z-EVAYo/v-deo.html
Yes I agree. The effects need an update. It took me a long time just to get a usable vocal reverb out of it and it's still not a patch on what you can get out of a basic Yamaha MG mixer in terms of the quality of reverb you can dial in. The one I'm using is the temple reverb with the decay at minimum, pre delay on. Main FX fader at unity, and the effect about a 3rd of the way up the fader on the channel. It's just about acceptable...
Bluetooth is on a fader in the app, so I'm guessing you'd like to map it to a physical fader on the hardware? Mapping the FX returns would be cool too for sure, but I'm not sure that functionality exists in the hardware to allow that type of configuration on the fly. Thanks for the message, I'll pass it along! - Also, I love your channel. I hope the parrots are well and making more videos still! All the best.
Thanks for the question! The best way to eliminate feedback is to avoid creating it. If you know the issue, can you avoid getting close to the speaker? Of course before any performance, it is a good idea to 'ring out' the system if you're experiencing feedback. That entails carefully running up each mic to where it just starts to feedback, and then use the EQ to carefully notch out that frequency. You can use an RTA app on your phone to identify the frequency while you train your ears to recognize the frequencies in the future. The more you do this, the easier it gets... but positioning the speakers so they are not pointed into the microphones is still the best defense.
I would like to do something and I can't, which is like on traditional tables, ex, I have two L.R outputs from the Man, in which one of the L or R outputs connects my active box, but I would like to send another signal to another table of the establishment using a channel of the monitor in which all the sound of Man would come without me having to touch each volume individually of each instrument or microphone of the monitor, with a single volume as in the traditional tables.
That's really useful thank you, and great timing as I'm only just now considering how to use the Flow 8 to monitor my playing and singing on stage. I hadn't noticed that new option to add mute either which could be useful for cutting my mic without using the slider.
Flow 8 is Fantastic! one question though, is it possible to mute and unmute only FX1 or FX2 with the footswitch or manually? would be very handy to have control on the Delay on a live situation. Thanks for the video!
Hey Zana, I answered your question directly in the latest video - ua-cam.com/video/kHwAXXc3QbY/v-deo.html - Just trying a new format to see if people enjoy it. Thanks again for the great question!
Not in the office at the moment to see if this works, but I would guess you could set FX2 to a non tap-time based effect. Any in the last row under FX2 should do it, the flanger, soft, warm or deep chorus. I'm guessing with one of those selected the tap will stop flashing, but it might not work that way. Let me know if you have a chance to try it before I do!
Well... your main mix is the product or result of the gain you set in each stage of the mixer. So assuming you have turned the Main mix up and that isn't working, are you sure you've got your input levels set properly? How about the channel levels being sent to the mix, are they up enough? Finally you can use the limiter on the main mix to level out the peaks and increase the overall volume. Make sure your gain is healthy from the input to the output at each stage, and see if things improve with the limiter applied. All the best, thanks for watching!
Just updated and so glad to find this video for all the other useful info! So with the new FW and APP, it wiped my 'mixer snapshots' (which I'd read about). How do I edit / rework my 'snapshot library'? Also, I finally found the channel compressor, but it was buried in the UI. Is there only 1 access route to it?
I cannot get mine to update--the circle just spins and nothing happens. I downloaded the drivers --started and restarted. Can it possibly take a really long time to update ? Or is there something else I might be missing? Thank you for any tips
Christina, I'm sorry I'm just seeing this now. Were you able to get your issue resolved? Did you reach out to Behringer for customer support? It shouldn't take an unusually long amount of time to update, only a few minutes. Let me know if you're still having trouble.
there are two efx sends, you can send any number of sources to the two efx engines using those two sends. It is not like a DAW where you can plugin random efx to any channel you want.
Do you know if there is a way to use outboard effects with the Flow 8? I'm thinking of something like running a mic on Channel 1 out to a channel strip (MDX2600 or similar) and back into the mixer.
There is no way to insert things like that at the channel level - but you could of course send whatever you want processed out of a monitor output -> to the efx unit -> and back into a spare channel. Then it's up to you if you want to blend them, or turn the dry channel off in the mix and just use the return from the EFX. Depending on your needs it could be either Post fade (if you did want to blend them) or run the monitor send pre-fader so you have a consistent level going out to the efx (if you're going to use the return primarily).
Is there any way to control independently how much Fx1 is send to Monitor 1 and to Main out??? Thanks... Im one step from buying this but i cannot figure it out...

Hi, thanks, would it be possible to plug a stereo synth lineout to 3 and 4 via the 1/4” and pan them permanently left and right to be treated as a stereo channel? Also is it class conpliant and works well with ipad daws?
Your videos are very helpful. Just have a question about monitor. If I want to use an IEM/earphone on the monitor jack, what’s sort of adaptor should I use? I tried TRS 1/4 inch to TRS 3.5mm adaptor, and I can hear the sound only on one side. Thanks!
Hey, great question again... so the monitor jacks are balanced mono. So, that TRS jack breaks out on each monitor send to be Tip = + | Ring = - | Sleeve = Common or Ground - if you wanted to use the Monitor sends to make a stereo headphone mix, you would need something like the a HOSA YMP-434 that has two unbalanced 1/4" tip / sleeve connectors, with each feeding one side of the 3.5mm stereo jack. If you just want a mono send from MON-1 to work in both ears for a single musician, you'd want something like this - amzn.to/3znylzp - that is an unbalanced TS 1/4" that takes the + side of the MON output and connects it to both Tip and Ring of a 3.5mm jack, putting mono audio in each side of your headphones. Awesome questions, thanks for watching!
@@DcSoundOp Hey, thank you so much for answering both of my questions. They are so very much helpful :) Yes, TS to TRS adaptor seems to be what I was looking for-we are a family of four with drums/guitar, bass, keys and a vocal. Thanks for this great update on the Flow 8. One thing I haven't been able to confirm is whether or not the FX send to the monitors is separate from FX to the mains. That is, I'd like to be able to have different FX amounts in the mains and monitors. Thank you!
If you download the App and take a look in SETUP -> ROUTING -> you'll see on the right side of that screen a place to choose to route each FX engine to either the MAIN, MON 1 or MON 2 sends. Hope that helps, thanks for the great question! FYI, you can mess around with the App in demo mode for free if you haven't purchased the mixer yet.
@@DcSoundOp Thanks. Yeah, I see that. I guess I was wondering about a separate FX amount in mains and monitors? That doesn't seem clear to me. Not a deal breaker, just wondering. Thank you!
I just buy it today and i can confirm that FX amounts in mains and monitor is same. This mixer doesn't have channel for FX return, it's amount of FX return is linked to channel fader for main mix ~ so you can't hear FX in monitor if you don't turn up channel fader for main mix ~ that's why you can't send FX to monitor separately from main mix
I noticed that when I route phone to Mon1 or Mon2, give a fx1, but turn a channel slider all the way down, I still hear sound from the fx1. This doesn’t happen when phone is routed to Main-when the channel slider is all the way down, I don’t hear any sound from fx1 either even if the fx1 level is up. Is this normal? Cheers!
Hey thanks for the message. Routing a source to Mon 1 or 2 should not make any changes to what's being sent to the FX. If a source is routed to FX, turning it up or down in the monitor sends won't change anything at all. The FX sends are however post fader in respect to the Main send level. That is, those sends go up or down in relation to how much the channel is turned up or down in the main mix. So with the source channel all the way down in MAIN, you should also get no send to FX. In all, it sounds like things are working normally with your mixer! Appreciate the great question, keep in touch!
