Fascinating how GzeroTzero did out-criminal the Hutts by way of a secret agenda to reestablish the Republic. For once I can concede to Machiavelli's "The ends justify the means". A horrible pity for all the collateral damage wreaked upon all innocent unintended victims.
Pizza The Hutt fears no man.....except for the one who eats Pizza.... yeah, Pizza The Hutt didn't live very long.....he ate himself when he got locked in his car..... ☠☠☠
Gross over-simplification. If you're going to simplify, then use the inverse. Modern day gang conflict regarding territories and resource extraction resemble middle age feudal hierarchies more than the reverse being true.
Interesting point of view, a historian recently had a point of view of Alexander the great and the Macedonians. He said that the ancient families operated more like mafia families than actual nation states.
I saw this one thing where you can force persuade a group of exchange enforcers on Nar Shaddaa in Kotor 2 to jump into the central pit. One said it was a faster way to get to the ground. 😂 I don’t think anyone should feel sorry, and you gain dark side points doing it, so that’s pretty cool.
Kinda heard of them "Exchange" types... Woulda figured one the more notorious ones like Black Sun or Death Watch would intimidate the Hutts if any of them did. Seeing as many such types would do some pretty nasty things all the time throughout the Galaxy least till the Empire another HUGE heavy Sith an similar factions took over an started terrorizing everyone on either side of the Law
I actually love the idea of the most powerful mob boss in the galaxy being a simple infrastructure droid. That could make an interesting story background on how the droid came to power.
Ah, Star Wars' take on the Shadow Broker's organization from Mass Effect (and also a prototype concept for the latter too). Toppling it from greatness sure is one of our best and underrated triumphs in the Star Wars Legends universe as a whole... hope it still doesn't exist intact in the Alt-universe though.
I remember the Exchange in Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, KOTOR 2, and Star War the Old Republic. I always would have hated being on their bad side. If I had to, I would work for them. Even though that would be a very bad idea.
I know GoTo said it was impossible to build the Republic and follow Republic laws, but if you can explain what laws made progress impossible, that would make an interesting video
Just think of any current laws that are somewhat stupid in nature in the real world. For example new york state still has legal trial but combat. It's not much of a stretch to think the Republic is bogged down with many of the same things. GoTo himself implies he needed to use assassinations and illegal business deals in order to achieve his goal
The republic relied on legal procedures to enforce laws conducted by corrupted officers against even more corrupted criminals. Aka, laws nobody follows. GoTo was trying to actually enforce those laws, but it was utterly impossible since many of the steps to do so required approval of corrupted politicians. In other words, the rulers of the system made sure the system will never reach them. The only thing that kept the republic running was a united front against a common enemy, wich is exactly what the mandalorian, and later, the sith provided. As soon as the threat disipates, so does the patriotism and united effort. The main problem was the disconnect between the Coruscant senators and their represented systems. Anyone in a diplomatic mission was living a far superior life than most people in their homeworlds, wich meant the more struggles they got, no matter how pointless, the more power they got. Hence the impossibility of rebuilding the Republic under those conditions.
@@ertymexx indeed, it was a criticism of overreaching goverment. Truth is the biggest countries have huge problems ruling with national laws because the conditions between regions are far too different. The main example is USA. The problem with rivalling the Hutts is that even though you can outcompete them for a time, Hutts outlive every other species. Even if the Hutts lose power and influence, they will stay around to take advantage of any problems in your cartel.

About your video about Grey Jedi, your logic in that video (when it came to The Je'daii Order) didn't make sense to me. As far as I know, they broke apart, and became The Light-Side-Oriented Jedi Order after The RAKATA invaded Tython after 10,000 years of relative peace in their society. When The Rakata invaded, they showed just how much destruction one side of The Force can wrought in open conflict, and the trauma of that war led to The Force Wars that The Jedi Order resulted from. At least, that's how Metanerdz Lore implied it went.
It’s not that the Hutts feared them, that’s just how people chose to see it. Even G0-T0, the most successful of the Exchange Crime Lords, straight up said it best when he said the Y’tub system wasn’t truly his. Even he knew trying to take something directly from the Hutts was a fools gambit. They more or less operated on. Mutual respect deal to keep the peace. But there’s a reason the Hutts have outlived every organization.

You neither out-criminal nor out-pizza a Hutt.
The Exchange! I remember them from Star Wars: The Old Republic! They were common enemies on Nar Shaddaa.
Ah I see you are a man of culture as well
I saw the Droid with the face and instantly thought the enclave? It's kinda weird how they haven't found a way to restart the organization 😕
Same!!!

To think about it, Feudal Wars in our history were basically ancient gang wars.

@Simon Willis 😂
While undercover on Nar Shadaa, my consular ordered the execution of an Imperial officer.
The fact that a droid decided to make a character based on movies it saw will never not be funny to me

ok next talk about the REAL criminal organisation that rivalled the Hutts: Czerka Corp
I definitely hate Czerka after playing through the SWTOR Tattoine story arc.
Yes, I'd like more content on the Exchange, Davik, and, especially, GO-TO.
Apparently, the Exchange never learned one of the major rules of the Star Wars galaxy, don't mess with the Hutts. lol.
