I am from the Faroe Islands. Eivør is our Jewel, we all (55.000 inhabitants), love her. Her music is changing lives, all over the world. And we are very proctective of her. (of course she don't need that, but we are). The joy of our lives, in the Faroes, is when people start to love her, as we all do. Thank you, for your love for her! :D
@@DoulosHupsistos Thanks for replying. I found an interview with Eivør conducted by a Norwegian musicologist and she stated Eivør's name. I assume because she is Norwegian, the musicologist would know how to pronounce it! As I am an English-speaking American, it is a difficult name for to pronounce even after hearing it. Anyway, you can hear her name at about about 40 seconds into this video. ua-cam.com/video/iR8KNSHOH5c/v-deo.htmlsi=sG508roxb8Jb7j2h&t=41
Eivør is absolutely amazing and her concerts bring you to another level of spirit. It's more than music, it's an experience that elevates you. I'm still in awe from the concert I've seen yesterday, where she performed Jardartra for the very first time in live. Even though it was the 7th time I was in her concert, being a fan for more than 10 years now, she still blows my mind as if it was my 1st experience. If anyone should experience only one concert in his/her life, just go for Eivør.
I saw Eivor live in 2022 when I was residing in Germany. Her concert was absolutely captivating and felt as if I was in a trance from beginning to end.
Omg it would be so cool if you could get her for an interview! I can't wait for the new album! This new song and video already got me really hyped ❤ I will see her live for the second time in October. It's really something else to experience her live performance. I think she does Hymn 49 from The Last Kingdom Soundtrack live at the moment. I think I will cry 😄❣️
Great reaction. Eivør's high range is a thing of wonder but the deeper vocals she uses here really resonate with me and as you say the song and video are just art.
I actually only found out about her recently. Heilung are playing in NZ later this year, so I got tickets immediately. Saw someone called Eivor was opening for them. Played her music, and wow! Double excited now. (Actually saw Heilung in the UK last year and they are incredible live).
she is just an eight hours car drive away, tauri. and each minute is worth it to see her live. i flew over 2000 kilometers from iceland to germany to see her live and it was worth the effort and money it took. if you get a ticket, go for it. if you want to see this song live, @ragnaur has uploaded a live version from yesterdays concert in belgium
We went to this concert last Sunday and we took 2 friends with us to introduce them to Eivor music. For one of them, it was a last minute decision to come with us, so she came totally blind, not knowing anything about Eivor or her music. Eivor took our friends souls in less than 30 sec. Now, those are 2 new fans for our favorite Faroese singer. 🎵
Yes, it is *just* an 8 hour drive, but there are so many factors that go into planning a drive/night over stay like that. We have pets, I also had to go back to England on short notice (for my grandmas funeral) at the beginning of the year, so that ate into our savings as well.
I agree 100% with you regarding Eivor. She is just out of this world. I strongly suggest you go see her live, cause her live show will transend you somewhere else. You don't just listen to her music, you experience it through your whole body. She is just amazing live. I got the chance to see her live and to meet her as well after the show, and she is the most humble person ever. YOU MUST see her live!!! Be safe
I absolutely agree with you, this is a pure music, visual and conceptual art. The musical layers and her voice wich are inspired by classical inspiration are genious.
she recorded a kate bush cover for "running up that hill" on the icelandic television two weeks ago, you should give that a listen, she has so much fun on the stage!
Great reaction:) Sorry for beeing so late here. I love Eivor, she is one of my favorite artists. And Im happy to know I will see her live again this autumn in Stockholm:) When I first saw this video and heard this song I was thinking hmm... This is soo much modern imagery with lazers and stuff:) When I`m thinking of Eivor I think of woods. sea and nature. But I have listen and watched this video like 100 times now and I love it. The primal is still there in the lazershow:) And she will always sound like a Siren from the woods.
Hey! Man! I was enchanted at the premiere, as I didn't have a translator, I heard the melody and saw the images! Now watching again, my translator doesn't want to work, so my gaze falls on Tauri's reactions to contextualize! And what song was that? Heavenly melody? Tauri is floating along with the melody, the harmony, the instruments, the scenery visualization! The whole thing is beautiful to see from here, behind the cameras! The melody, with the rhythmic beat, involves us as a whole! The feeling I have is of being with them, inside a circle, at night, with a starry sky, listening and participating in the scene! The monoliths of Stonehenge come to mind! Druids, Celts? Come back, come back, come back Zana! Oops! I went and almost stayed! I went to a ritual and came back! Man, what a feeling of peace the music gives to whoever listens! What a feeling of well-being, pleasure, tranquility, calm, joy and sensitivity! And seeing Tauri, who I sometimes refer to as a child, dancing, getting involved, diving into the melody, confirms what I'm feeling! Jesus my Lord! The scene before me is too beautiful! Ah excitement here! I will stop! Wow Tauri, what a great choice today! Have a good afternoon! Kisses in your heart and thank you for this masterpiece! 🌷
I saw her live (in the UK) last week. It is a shame that the music of Eivør, and similar, doesn't translate well enough to the US to make a tour viable. Any chance you get however, go see her because she and her band are spectacularly good. One thing I will add about the live experience is that the bass on this track (and others) reworks one's innards. There isn't a bass player - it all comes from the keyboards and the drummer's electronic pads. Her singing voice and vocalisations are astonishing live. She started the set with the first few songs from Enn; this is the second song but the even more etherial Ein Klóta is the first and her high range is amazing in that song.
have you listened to her "at the heart of a selkie"-album yet? she recorded it with a big band and a choir and i understood some of her songs only because of this album. all lyrics in the comments there
In your reaction you looked pretty much like I felt when I first saw this video (please note that I am in no way saying that you looked like a 70 year old male 😀), but she is really good and like you say, language is irrelevant.
Actually found Eivor when I got introduced via Charismatic Voice to the Danish National Symphony Orchestra recently and Eivor did a couple songs with them and it was awesome! The songs were Trollabundin and God of War Tauri you would like them and maybe a reaction :) If you like the Lord of the RIngs the Orchestra did a 25 min suite that was really good too!

Would you be able to tell us how to pronouce the title of this song?
sorry, it is difficult, but maybe something like "Yar'ar'trá"?

This fits perfectly with Heilung it evokes an ancientness in the spoken words.
This is great! :) You should react to "UPP ÚR ØSKUNI/RISE FROM THE ASHES" that she just released. It's going to be on the same album as this song :)
