The way the van has been designed reminds me of the recent camper van they did. It's a really nice base for a van that can be further customized to fit the theme of the build. Also, the format for the smaller reviews like this is just right I think!
Just having the white void is totally fine and goes back to the, imo good, old days of the channel. Don't mind seeing your appearance too ofc.
This set honestly astonished me. It's got a surprising amount of detail and is a good size, all with a FANTASTIC p2p ratio. It reminds me of how $20 sets used to be 15 years ago, as far as the size and the amount of stuff you get. Would love to see more sets like this.
The review format worked well, and this particular set is a great little representation of why lego is successful. It is clever, fun, and a pleasing final product. You get a small sense of accomplishment from putting together a little toy like this one, for sure. I hope that lego sharply focuses on making these smaller (cheaper/affordable) sets very strong in the years to come!

The big slushy cup is a perfect Container to fill the small spare tiles in which comes with many other Sets.
I prefer this format for the summary and intro especially because there's a greater focus on the set itself from it. 👍👍

Continuing the lovely tradition of the food vans with personalities, this all started with the Pizza Van.
Just got this set yesterday. Real shame it doesn't come with any of the dual moulded squishee pieces but it's a really cute set and goes really well with the last 2 ice cream vans they've released
When I was a child - the little burger bar 6683 was new - and really cool.
Now I've bought the slushy van - that's forty years later.

Pretty cute.. think they could have come up with something more exciting for the roof than the big cup. A penguin mascot or something.
I like it, it reminds me of this slushie stand that was at the county fair I worked at every year as a kid, and it looked like a big slushie

Maybe it's to tie in with the last two vans which also had food (a popsicle and ice cream cone) on their roof. But yeah a penguin would have been cute
This is definitely being added to my food truck/ice cream truck line up. I’ve requested replacement parts for scuffed pieces in the past, especially the window/windscreens - really think they should be packaged in their own packets

Quirky idea. Do you have the ice cream van from the other year, be interesting to see a side-by-side comparison as they feel very similar builds at first glance.
I can no longer see it as anything other than a hand sanitizer truck now haha

With a few extra pieces, drinks in the other flavors could be added, and maybe raise up the dispensers so they can fit underneath.

I think this format works just fine. It’s like the older reviews and if it’s easier for you to make, I think you should go for it. It is always nice to see you in front of the camera, but I feel like you should only do that if you really want to do so.

LEGO food trucks is one of my favorite subthemes. Waiting on the vegetable food truck to come down in price but will definitely be picking this up.
I'm a big fan of these shorter reviews. These kinds of sets don't need a 15min deep-dive & I honestly don't have time for that.
I would just look on brickset instead.
So thank you for the shorter format! UA-cam Shorts styled would be even better, although I'm afraid the monetization would be terrible then...

Food trucks are always a great add for $20. Using a consistent color for the grey would have been nice.

This was a very nice way to present a set of this size. The van is just about identical with some of the other vans they have made earlier (Pizza van and Ice cream van) but that is ok, as it gives the impression that is is the same brand of food truck that has been made to use for different products. I think I need to get this for my Lego city.

It's odd how scuffed even opaque bricks get in the packaging nowadays, I wonder what's up with that (has that always been a problem and I just didn't notice when I was younger?)

Jang: for the smaller sets I think it’s fine to do the classic white background with disembodied hands. 😉 When you mentioned the set looking plain I was thinking a sticker on the big white piece on the top would help. It was awesome when you said the same thing a second or two later. Probably not going to get this set, but was thinking maybe some simulated refrigeration unit on top underneath the the big drink cup could also had some color and detail to the van. Anyway, great review. 👍

This set is a very good cheap set.
It's too bad that the cup doesn't fit under the machine. It would have been nice to include the cup piece from the CMFs.
It actually is good for a 5+ set, future food trucks should be more advanced.

Excellent review. I was kinda on the fence about this one, but it's now on my to-get list.
As for the review format - I think this is perfectly fine for smaller reviews. Your voice is expressive enough that your feelings on what you're discussing carry through just fine. The only time I'd say that you should go back to the other format for small stuff is if something merits us seeing your facial expression because you don't have words for it - be that something incredibly good, or something incredibly bad.

Are these food truck thingy a series? There were ice cream van and the carrot one. Are there more?
Wait, they added the little connector pieces for the side view mirrors (the dark grey pieces connected to each side of the driver's windshield) but didn't include any side view mirrors?
My onluy coplain would be that they should have used Friends build for slushies. Its WAY better

Isn’t cherry usually red and strawberry pink or a lighter red than the cherry flavor? At least in most cases of color coding flavors.
It’s such a shame to see LEGO piece quality decline year after year. I just built set 10497 and the big canopy pieces have scuffs on them as well and the pip where the plastic came off the mold is huge and can scratch things and even extends a bit past the piece itself.
Wny no hairpiece for the driver? Can´'t inagine him driving around in the penguin-head?
