Hey gang! I've been enjoying your series since episode 3 or 4 and love the concept of playing old-school MTG and simulating a growing collection of cards. However, I've noticed some things that might help elevate the videos and make them more engaging for viewers like myself. 1. When playing, making sure to hover over each and every card in-game to display their details in the top right would be fantastic for viewers who aren't familiar with older cards. Alternatively, consider adding pop-ups of cards in editing or zooming in on the field to highlight important cards for better visibility. 2. I think the videos could benefit from faster pacing by cutting out unnecessary dead space during matches, especially times with minimal action or conversation. Jumping ahead in matches where appropriate could also work, accompanied by voice-over commentary to provide context and capture the key moments you want viewers to experience. 3. Adding some background music would further enhance the viewing experience and help set the tone for the matches. Overall, I love the idea of your series and believe these small adjustments could make a big difference in its enjoyability for viewers like me. I hope this helps and I hope this show gets in front of more people.
hey there! one of two editors here! i have no idea how to respond to this comment because we already do everything you’ve suggested, in fact i started editing the videos as well so austin can work more on the background music, cinematic stuff, all that fun stuff! what i will take from this comment is that we need to pump up the jams.
@@benparilis1081 I've been telling Austin to hover over the cards since episode 1, shit's wild. Jasper doesn't want you to know what the cards do, or else you'll be able to rag on them in the comments when they get the effects wrong xD
If I remember right last time there was a 3way tie you voted on who was the worst deck and who had the best deck for the purpose of wheel spins. Assuming that's the case I would like to throw my two cents in Spoilers for what happens in the video. The worst deck seems the most clear cut to me being your discard 5 rack deck. Firstly it has the most glacially slow win condition out of the group and requires the luck of finding 1 of the 5 racks to even start winning. This is best shown in the games where you lost to the reainamter deck where despite them tacking a long time to set up their combo you were unable to do any damage for a significant amount of time. Not to mention the match you did win, you only won cause they mistakenly cycled a card taking an extra 1 of of city of brass, other wise they would have lived and won that game. Between the other two decks I think it's a bit harder cause the enchantment deck really really suffers if anyone brings removal as they don't have any hexproof creatures yet to safely put enchantments on, but against a deck like the reanimater which had very little removal with just man of wars it can excel at having annoying attackers that can actual end the game. As for the reanimater it is also really slow to win since the best looting effects are on pretty terrible traders and there is no entomb or they just don't have any/many of them. but unlike the rack it has a really high ceiling of what it can pull of if not countered. with that said discard is the worst, enchantment second if only cause it struggles against hard removal way more than reanimater at 1. but is pretty close I think between 1st and 2cd. hope you don't mind a wordy comment like this.
Thanks for the detailed analysis, wow! I'm glad to see you're so enthusiastic about our work. :) When we first ran into this issue early on, I thought of it like this: "winning-est" and "losing-est" isn't necessarily a numbers thing or deck quality thing. It can be an emotional thing. If we all have even win rates against each other, the losing-est player is the one whose losses were the most one-sided, or just felt the worst. Additionally, although the wheel segments are placed before the current week's game in the final edit, we record them immediately following the previous week's games in actuality in order to allow us time to adjust our decks and such. This means we usually aren't taking extra time to go through the kind of analysis you did, and often make somewhat arbitrary and emotional calculations. At the end of the day, the show is for fun, so we have fun with it. I don't disagree that my deck wasn't very good. It definitely felt clunky and slow the entire time, even compared to similar versions of the deck from past episodes, lol. I could have spent some extra time refining it, but circumstances meant that this was the version I went with. If my reply is any evidence, I don't mind the long comment. I hope my rationale comes through ok.
@@curiousChrysalis glad you liked it then, don't normally coment that much but thought this would be a good chance to throw something out. I'll keep what you said in mind though if i comment again.
what a funky episode, i think our first technical 3 way tie in like, 10~ episodes??

@@LizardWizard420 ehh, I'm fine without background music.
