No questions asked, if it wasn’t for his moral code and only killing when necessary, Goemon would be the most deadly person on the planet. If he and Jigen ever turned on Lupin together, no one could stop them
Notice how he drops his sword the races towards fallen Lupin
instead of running to him and setting down the sword gently
He really cares for Lupin almost more then zentetsukin
Lupin considers him as a trustworthy comrade and yet Goemon questions what Lupin thinks of him. Just goes to show how easily Goemon can get manipulated.
I think Goemon is the most immature of the gang emotionally speaking as he had a more "peaceful" life than the others before meeting the gang
I think the fact that he has always been a loner ( loner wolf type of man ) he never rly had to pay much attention to anyone else's feelings but his. And even then he probably put his feelings after his duties as a samurai. And when you do stuff like that you can start doubting stuff when it involves other people that you might not be so sure about. Also It's not that far fetched that he would think Lupin just uses him when sometimes it seems like he only gets called when needed for a job. Lupin is also yk... Lupin. Maybe Jigen doesn't doubt him because they have be together for what 10+ years but I think Goemon joins that far later + isn't always with them. He can be manipulated easily but tbh I can see why he would have his doubts. ( also at any point and time when Lupin is questioned about the fact if jigen and goemon are his friends, he rarely says a straight answer- probably best cuz they are thieves and relationships shouldn't be known like that and it's for their safety but still yk )

Enzo pretty much answered Goemon's question after screwing with Goemon's mind. Goemon is a part of Lupin's "Family", not his "Collection".
oh my gosh!! i have been wondering that ever since i finished part five. i remember the "collection" part, but never the "family" part mentioned!! 🥺🥺 it makes me so sad
I like the character development Goemon recieved and how it basically pointed out how he changed from when he first encountered Lupin. It shows his morals have changed and he as a whole changed, even tho on the exterior he still seems like a non-caring poker faced samurai. He is more then just that and so is the relationship he has w Lupin. He cares when once he didn't. I think I like that he doubts himself and their relationship when it came from enemies to whatever they have and its so difftent , going against the moral code he used to have.
And realizing that can be hard. I just rly enjoy this edit for some reason. Everything from the music to the scenes just fit.
The moment after he sliced Lupin, I teared up.
I found it so sad how Goemon felt so conflicted. He's his own formidable warrior not some pawn in Lupin's game. But in fighting his own inner doubts he almost killed his best friend. 💔

Damn watching this and others movies and series of Lupin The Third, I just realize that Lupin, Jigen and Goemon are my husbandos. I love them, god, I love them. 😳💖

I genuinely believe Goemon does care about Lupin. I recall the episode where Lupin “died” and Goemon/Jigen were distraught and crying after losing him.
