    On Saturday around noon, I was on my phone watching a YT live stream of take offs from Dulles airport (IAD). The Morrow Aviation livestreamer commented that the Emirates A380 would be departing shortly. Sure enough it appeared on the runway & started its takeoff roll, quickly achieving ‘rotate’. The interesting thing for me was that we live in a 55+ community within a few miles of Dulles and have the commercial aircraft perform their takeoffs over us regularly throughout the day. On the occasion of the A380’s achieving a successful angle of attack, I was able see this on livestream then within seconds hear the jet as it flew almost directly overhead. It is such a monstrous airplane yet so awe inspiring to watch it up close fulfilling its mission of delivering passengers from departure to destination points.

    I take a personal interest in Dan's great documentary (all 3). They are riveting and very well done. Dan is thorough and put a lot of effort in to this unique historical event! I was a teenager in Issaquah having family Thanksgiving dinner that memorable eve, as we viewed it on tv that eve. True Breaking News! We lived less than a mile from the Skysports Center! I did work about ten years later with the owner, Linn there, and flew in a glider....Good memories!!!

      Have to prove he is your dad. In all familial dna convictions the actual dna from the suspect it required.

    • @robbflynn4325
      @robbflynn4325 11 годин тому

      @ManUnhappy I think familial DNA is admissible. I've heard of it being applied to secure convictions in criminal cases where it has not been possible to obtain the suspects DNA, then again if they have access to his body, then I suppose they will get the required sample. Just be aware that DNA is not infallible, so to prove any crime, you need other evidence to support a conviction. This is where Dan's work comes in. For example, can you prove 100 percent DB Cooper was not an identical twin? They would obviously have identical DNA. What about contamination, deterioration, or tampering with the crime scene DNA sample? And then we have the whole arena of political interference. There are lots of variables to consider.

    We tracked down and arrested McCoy for a similar airplane hijacking and escape by parachute less than five months after Cooper's flight. But McCoy was later ruled out because he didn't match the nearly identical physical descriptions of Cooper provided by two flight attendants and for other reasons.
    What were the "other reasons"???

    I’ve read two of the three books. One I had to borrow from an online library and read it in one day back when I first discovered Probable Cause and Dan Gryder. Approximately 3-3.5 years ago. I’d say to all DB Cooper enthusiasts: READ EM. For years I was a Kenny Christiensen guy. For at least a decade before reading the suggested books here. Now? I’m firmly in the Richard McCoy camp. The evidence beats that compiled against Kenny 10:1. In fact the evidence makes the SUPPOSITIONS against Kenny seem like I owe someone an apology

    DEI stands for “didn’t earn it”, and should be not found anywhere in aviation, not in pilots, mechanics, or ATC.

  • @waltchase3297
    @waltchase3297 День тому +8

    DEI is responsible for the controller shortage. Before they can even get these "candidates" into the program they are now required to take a remedial "base 10" math course. These special folks could not pass the standard screening math course. This is why there are single controllers manning ground, tower, clearance and sometimes radar simultaneously. It is quite dangerous out here at the commercial level at present. Dan is absolutely correct that it's just a matter of time until we have a Tenerife type of casualty event.

      I did expect more! The past historical average is 216 fatal GA plane crashes per year! We are bumping along now in this season of increased flying hours and
      reduced fatal rate at 142 for the year! We are converting more and more would be natural occurrences (engine failures etc.) to non fatal "incidents." Closing out 2024 at 156 or less will be huge if we can do it. Never been done before!
