sometimes I watch extremely old performances of bts and I can't believe how amazing they were even when they had just started out. Jk's voice here is insanely good, jm's voice is so beautiful and stable, yoongi and rm k!lling it when their rap etc.. so proud of where they started and how far they've come
So they did get to perform for their fans at the Olympics venue even if they didn’t get the big main broadcast stage. It was what they had to go through back then. This is how they continued to increase their fan base. 💜
Funny how everyone begs them to perform or show up to their events now. SMH.. Hugs for all of them, they were not treated fairly. I wonder where the people are who WAS on the big stage. Are they still active? ;D
They didn’t perform at the Olympics due to scheduling issues. Psy was the biggest global Korean artist and he couldn’t perform either for the same reason.

I just never knew or saw this performance until UA-cam recommended it recently. What I was saying is I didn’t know they at least got to perform in a side venue for ARMY. I just don’t believe BTS would turn down the Olympics. The truth is there were other performers that fit what the committee wanted and BTS wasn’t it but they at least got to perform at Pyeongchang even though it wasn’t on American media. I watched that Olympics in 2018 hoping to see them perform but it was some other idols. I looked up why it wasn’t BTS and the reason was “suspicious” and not confirmed. I’m just glad they did perform there for ARMY and I’m sure new foreign fans.
Wait it says 2016 so maybe they still didn’t get to perform at all in 2018 because 2016 they also were not on the Olympics televised opening or closing ceremony. This is just a side venue during the Olympic games in 2016 it looks like.

Again, it’s not the case. They were invited to perform, but they declined. When asked about it this was the response from the Olympic organizers, “Director of the ceremony, Song Seung Hwan told Soompi: ‘We wanted to invite a few more teams, but there were also some that fell through due to scheduling and other issues. Included in those were PSY and BTS.’” People wondered why they declined due to their schedule, but still managed to perform at the festivals that took place between opening and closing ceremonies. The fact is that committing to part of the official opening or closing ceremony is a huge time commitment and they would have had to stay in Korea. At this time, BTS were exploding in the west. In the second half of 2017 lots of US talk shows and we know that their schedules are tight months in advance. They were already global ambassadors for Korea. So this wasn’t a case of BTS being treated poorly. In a way, BTS were too successful to be able to appear in the open or closing ceremonies.
Watching this video, I'm reminded of this beautiful synergy of them, their beautiful voices and their incessant growing talent. I'm grateful I got to know them 4 years ago and now watch this amazing (and many great others too) performance. I'm waiting patiently for everyone to come back safely from the military. On another note, please go give a listen to Jin's I'll be there💜💜let's give him the support BTS and Jinnie deserve.
Oh my goodness, if it were possible I can still feel and see the passion, determination, giving their all, nothing to loose or leave not done, their deep breaths, sweat, blood pumping and attitud completed de job well done. All I can say is thank you BTS.

Wow, it must have been such a buzz to see them and realise they were watching something special in the making. Their energy and dancing was so on point despite the terrible surface of the stage - true professionals. How I wish I could go back in time and be there 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
