He might not be extra articulated but it’s good enough for me to get him. I might buy another Tobey to put the head on this body 😂. I like the relaxed “I’m too old for spandex” fit 🤷🏾♂️😂
I am collecting it no matter what. This will be the first Last Stand Spiderman if I recall correctly. There might be a chance Hasbro going to improve on that articulation but I am not taking a risk of not getting it now.
I’m used to figures with limited torso articulation due primarily collecting Transformers, so that’s not a big deal for me… the lack off accessories is a little annoying though; also this was my favorite suit to use in the first Insomniac Spider-Man game so I was already planning on getting this figure anyways.
It’s so ironic that this is the version from the game and it still has more effort put into it than the actual advanced suit figure that came out a few months ago lmao
@@MCUcollector24 I know that it’s based on the comic, but this version of the costume is from the game. You can tell if you look up the games costume because of the eyes and with the line down the center of the mask
@@MCUcollector24 The seams on the mask, two-tone gloves, and the chest emblem design make this the game version. This is similar to what they did with the Spider-Armor MK I.
His torso is like Dr. Strange MCU, and Jean Grey X97, also Kang comics version, not bad for these characters, but in the case of Spidey,, more articulation will be better.
Looks decent spitting image of the suit from the PS4 game, wasn’t expecting groundbreaking articulation but if you got the new Scarlet Spider you can just use them web hands 🤷♂️
To be fair, he wasn't in the comic that much, 1 and a half pages at a push and all he was doing was standing in front of a grave while the police confronted him. No big fight or acrobatic moments, so for comic accuracy I'd say it's perfect, definitely fit for purpose.
@@Chris.P.Bacon7 Different guy, same costume. Though I guess having two alternate heads (1 middle-aged Peter Parker, 1 Ezekiel Sims) was a missed opportunity.
Ive got a soft spot for this design. The story it came from is pretty solid. But the mismatched torso and legs really bother me. The legs look too big and chubby for how small the torso is. Both look like theyre meant to be form fitting so he ends up being built like Mew-Two. If this was the formula they were stuck with I dont understand why they didnt scale the jacket up to make it look like he had some mass but that might have looked odd with the arms. The top half is fine, the bottom half is fine. They just dont go together wish they had picked one to scale around.
The mask is awesome. The jacket is awesome. Plus, it's supposed to be an older Peter, without the whole acrobatics and agility, so i think the representation with a figure not so "agile" and articulated, is a match. The only thing i don't like are the trousers and that he's shorter and smaller than other Spidermen. But again, we're talking about an older man, so who cares. I like it.
This looks like it came straight out of the first ps4 game. Which I collect all the figures from the game or look like a suit from the game so happy to have this coming in.
With a simple two-tone paint scheme like this, i think a traditional ab crunch hinge or even a dumbell peg torso(or both) would not have detracted from the sculpt much at all. Since this was a new sculpt, i am not sure why this was done. I have to assume it was cost cutting to allocate more budget to other figures in the wave. It's a fine looking figure, but it's probably a pass for me.
I’ve always loved the Last Stand Spider-Man suit, played a lot of it in the PS4 Spider-Man game so while the figure is more limited on accessories and movement, I really want to get this figure but not enough to get it immediately depending on the price.
I understand the criticism but this character isn’t known for being super dynamic, is he? I appreciate that they didn’t break up the sculpt for a joint, but it would have been nice if they found a workaround by making the waist more moveable.
they couldve found a workaround, ik the anime heroes chainsaw man figure has a silicone or rubber piece so it looks like one complete piece and has great torso movement.
@@st0rm3325 hasbro doesn’t do the silicone/rubber because it doesn’t last. They sometimes do a thicker rubber like on some black series and the scarlet spider in this wave but it wouldn’t have done anything here since the overlay has to go below the waist.
My plan is to use the head, hands, and legs to the latest morbius body and do a custom of him.... and he'll have better upper body articulation. Thanks for the review
Break up the sculpt. In nearly most of these instances where Hasbro does a shell for a torso leading to near zero torso articulation. Just break up the sculpt. SnowJob in the Gi Joe line is perfect example of how to break up a jacket torso, give it plenty of articulation, and look good. It has to be a on a dual ball joint for that to work. Just like FIguarts, Mafex, and Jada Toys do it. If they want to sell a statue then Hasbro should sell a statue. This is a line marketed for it's articulation, prioritize that. If feeling charitable, make a version with a swappable torso for those folks who need it to be a statue. I think it looks nice for either a budget line or a budget statue with limited articulation. But it's not acceptable as a Marvel Legend to pay for at full price.
The character design really grabs me, but the limited torso and lack of accessories just makes me want to cross my fingers for a MAFEX. Somehow. Someday. Maybe
He's supposed to have web shooters, at least in the comic that panel on the packaging was from. He was present in a vision in the Grim Hunt story. While there was no thwipping hand in sight, there was one panel of him swinging on a web.
@@Chris.P.Bacon7 To be fair, Last Stand Peter Parker didn't use webs in his debut story either. He just leapt at a bunch of armored cops and started throwing hands. And we all know how strong Peter was in his prime.
That red could use an air brushing of a darker red. At least a wash to break up all that red. It reads flat. Cool costume but I'm not a fan of that Spider-man story. It was pathetic. Peter killed MJ with his radioactive semen...
Nah, that's Spider-Man: Reign which features an even older Peter Parker who looked like the old man in Don't Breathe. Last Stand Peter Parker looks more like Mr. Fantastic and his wife is still alive, along with their son Ben.
Its garbage. They keep goin for "deep cut" charachters and then phoning it in. Plus, Peter Parker ISNT "last stand" Spiderman. Ezekiel Sims, is "last stand" Spiderman. Wtf are these guys doing??? Sik
Actually, Peter is indeed the Last Stand Spider-Man. That's his cropped comic panel on the packaging - an alternate version of Peter Parker who kills his enemies. It's called the Last Stand suit because the first time we see that version of Spider-Man is just before his last stand, choosing to die fighting than to surrender to the police. Sims was the Last Stand Spider-Man only for the comic Spider-Verse event. If it's about using the name "Last Stand", Ezekiel wasn't even the first to use it. Credit for that goes to Spider-Man: Edge of Time, which predates the Spider-Verse event by around 4 years. About the figure... Yeah, could have been better. Was hoping for an ab crunch or a diaphragm joint. Some paint wash would've been nice too.

Between the lack of accessories and poor torso articulation I'm skipping him
Facts, you can just buy any random Spiderman and buy soft goods for it
Good
I’ve wanted this character for so long so he was a definite pickup for me

the ball joint at the torso should be the norm for every ML figure going forward. the ab crunch needs to go imo

Ben Parker.

Because it’s Peter Parker, not Ezekiel Sims

how would a ball joint at the chest help articultion if the overlay jacket has to be there? think.
It wouldn’t unless the overlay was thin
