I came here because I saw this song listed as one of the worst songs of the World Cup; I take it that the writer is referring to "commercial success." Because I think lyrically and vocally, this song is superb. I think the problem is with today's standard/preference, which prefers dance, sing-a-longs, rather than ballads. I get it. I don't know why some think a World Cup song has always to be energetic, happy and fun like Waka Waka or We are one. I like Il Divo and their song with Toni Braxton is great. It's an unusual WC song and I think the song captures the sad but also the happy moments. Just in a more "subtle" way :).
