  • First aid is an important lifesaving skill which will enable us to identify and respond to medical emergencies that we may face. This video will teach you Splinting, which is a bandaging technique for closed wounds.
    Instructions on bandaging a closed wound:
    1) Hold the injury, minimizing the movement
    2) Put the splint, or improvised splint, to support the injury. Do not put it directly on the injury.
    3) Ask the victim, or another rescuer, to hold the injury and splint together.
    4) Using the roller bandage, tie both ends of the bandage and the splint together. Do not tie on the injury or swelling. Do not cover the fingers or toes.
    5) Ask the victim to immobilize the injury.
