Na - Gurnai Dance of Bodo, Assam

The meaning of Na-Gurnai is NA “fish” and GURNAI “fishing with Jekhai”. The Jekhai is a bamboo made fishing instrument and for keeping fishes a small bamboo made basket is also used which is called “Kobai”. Musical Instruments used in this dance are Kham (Drum), Sipung (Flute), Serja (like Violin), Jota (Symbol) & Jubsring (Percussion).
