Where does the money for the Nobel Prizes come from?
    www.nobelprize...
"At the age of 17, Swedish Alfred Nobel spoke five languages fluently. Nobel became an inventor and businessman, and at the time of his death on 10 December 1896, he had 355 patents worldwide - one of them was the patent on dynamite."
How the Nobel Prize became the most controversial award on Earth
    www.vox.com/201...
"No one can really agree on why the Nobel Prizes are a much bigger deal than all the other prizes out there. Perhaps it's because they've been around for more than a century or because the prize - roughly $1 million - is so large. But at this point, they're definitely one of the most impressive awards around."
    The Youngest Nobel Prize Winners
    www.seeker.com/...
"Werner Heisenberg is one of history's physics giants, and he took the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1932, at 31, 'for the creation of quantum mechanics, the application of which has, inter alia, led to the discovery of the allotropic forms of hydrogen.'"

Fun Fact: One might assume Einstein got his nobel price for his theory of relativity but he was actually awarded the medal for his contributions to the understanding of the photoelectric effect. One of the first important experiments in developing quantum mechanics. However, this man contributed so much to physics that it is hard to find some field where you don't stumble upon some 'Einstein-X' equation sooner or later. Undoubfully one of the greatest minds in history.

Don't bother making inventions; You won't get shit from Nobel. Discover some cool shit then they're going to start talking. Don't bother studying math because they don't give credit even though math is rather more practical then some cult science experiment results that no one will believe these days. Don't bother being helpful to the community; they will give Nobel peace prize to some random third world country girl. Basically, the whole thing is the jerk-off for the lobbyist, and it is rigged as fuck so don't even fucking bother.

One thing that Tace didn't mention is that Nobels aren't given out after a recipient's death. One of the main reasons why Rosalind Franklin's professor and research partner was able to steal her project and receive a nobel for it for himself.

The Nobel Prize Committee got into me in the 1970s and 80s. So much so that I was being consulted on what new sciences, works, discoveries or inventions will win the Nobel Prizes. Naturally, I suggested some of them and who should win the Nobel Prizes. In the following years of the Nobel Prizes, my suggestions were followed in whole or in part. :D

wait... but Einstein never received a Nobel prize for anything on relativity though.
This is the reason why he was so dedicated in discovering something new, cause the Nobel committee at the time kept denying the fact that his discovery was legit.
The only Nobel prize that Einstein did receive, is for photo electric effect.

We must not forget that Alfred Nobel was directly involved in armaments through his 1894 purchase of the steel producing company Bofors which he put on course to become one of the world’s leading military weapons
manufacturers contributing to many peoples deaths in wars. Alfred Nobel came up with the idea of using his money for the annual prizes after hisbrother, Ludvig, died in 1888 and a French newspaper mistakenly thought it had been Alfred Nobel himself who died. The newspaper published the obituary under the title: “The Merchant of Death is Dead”, going on to
state: “Dr. Alfred Nobel, who became rich by finding ways to kill more people faster than ever before, died yesterday.” So the prize money derives not only from dynamite production but also from weapons manufacturing.

Fun Fact: Alfred Nobel was mistakenly considered dead in turn for his brother who was the one who was actually deceased. After his acclaimed death, many obituaries on Alfred Nobel were released by various newspapers and press sources. The obituaries were very nasty and negatively criticized Nobel's work saying that, "he was making money off the devil's candy" and other rude phrases. Nobel was notified and very upset with how people perceived his work and within a matter of weeks Alfred Nobel was dead; after reading his own obituary.

This is a science channel where things are explained which requires time. If you lack the attentiveness of learning about science, then don't watch these videos.
Dnews produces great content within a 3-5 minute window. If anything they should lengthen the videos to provide more information on the topic. Also, money isn't the most important thing in the world, knowledge is.

    • @makaruna7940
      @makaruna7940 7 років тому

Austin Wallace Just because you think 3-5 mins are good It doesn't mean it is, science can be explained in less time and in more fun ways than just talking for 3 to 5 mins. I gave this advice because I love this channel, and I with a lot of people think that their videos are very long = boring.
And Wtf did you mean by "lack of attentiveness"? WTF is that has to do with any of what I said?

    • @austinwallace3824

Most science topics take a while to explain thoroughly. This is the simplest channel for science I am subscribed to and cannot see a simpler version. Also, they won't change the whole fundamentals of their videos (them talking) just to satisfy an audience minority. They have to research, construct, record, edit, and post a new video two times a day. They are basically science journalist on UA-cam.
I'm sure other channels exist with the content that you are seeking for.

Other reasons for giving the Peace Prize to Norway is: maybe to relieve Nobel's bad conscience for creating dynamite, which already in his lifetime was being used for non-peaceful purposes. Also, by the time of Nobel's death Norway was already becoming involved in efforts to solve international conflicts. Both of which are thought to have possibly influenced Nobel's decision.

Why do you have a picture of Louis Pasteur at 0:50? You are talk about Alfred Nobel and Pasteur died several years before the first Nobel Prize was given.

Why, o why you constantly repeats Marii Curie? You certainly are clever enough to know that Maria Skłodowska Curie was a polish scientist that happens to be a wife of french scientist Pier Curie. You should a least look at Wikipedia because name is very important.

We should be paying the scientists who do this way more than just a million dollars. These are the basis of of the future and their discoveries are what will make up all what we will know and already know.
Just compare these people to athletes. They play sports and get multimillions. These people work research and study their whole lives just to barely win a million. This is truly a disgrace to them and there should be more investment into it.

      'ফিল্ডস মেডেল ' কে গণিতশাস্ত্রের নোবেল বলা হয়- ঠিক যেই ভাবে অস্কার কে সিনেমা জগতের নোবেল বলা হয়। অঙ্কের জন্য নোবেল হয় না ঠিক কথা, কিন্তু ফিল্ডস মেডেল কে অঙ্কের নোবেল বলা যেতে পারে।
